This is Suzanne. I am the owner and operator of DOG DAY AFTERNOONS.

I started my dogwalking service here in San Francisco in 1992, so I’m in my 18th wonderful year of professional dog walking. I am a fully licensed and registered business. I am also bonded. I do group walks (never more than 6 dogs at a time) Monday through Fridays. I charge a flat monthly rate for my services, which covers every weekday of the month (excluding major holidays). The neighborhoods I cover are as follows: Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, Marina, Cow Hollow, Anza Vista, Laurel Village, Western Addition, Cole Valley, Ashbury Heights, Upper Haight, Lower Haight, Duboce Triangle and Clarnendon Heights.

History

Established in 1992.

I started DOG DAY AFTERNOONS in 1992. I have always been a licensed and registered business in San Francisco. I’m fully «above board» and proud of it. I also founded the first professional organization for dog walkers

back in 1998. My goal was to organize professional dog walkers and show a united front to the city of San Francisco, and show us as responsible business owners. The organization still exists (called SFPRODOG), although I’m not on the board of it now.

Suzanne started DOG DAY AFTERNOONS in 1992 because of her love and extensive knowledge of dogs. Suzanne’s own dog is a certified therapy dog, and she and her dog have been visiting patients in their hospital beds for over seven years. Suzanne has also volunteered to train hearing assistance dogs at the San Francisco SPCA when they had a hearing dog program there. She also regularly donates to animal causes

and fundraisers.

Suzanne walked my geriatric-​but-​cute border collie for over a year, and was a fabulous dog walker for him. She was prompt, patient, kind, and returned him to me happy and well-​exercised. She also let me know immediately if he seemed under the weather, which added to my peace of mind — I knew I was leaving him in good hands. She was great at dogsitting too — my dog loved going over to her place. I’d use her again in a minute — and I recommend her highly!

Suzanne was our dog walker for a year when we lived in SF. She was fantastic. She’s incredibly easy to communicate with, very punctual, and took great care of our dog. You can tell she really has a passion for dogs. I always felt confident having her walk Chloe. We’ve also used her for dog sitting (even after we moved to the Peninsula), and I think Chloe probably has more fun at her house than at ours.

Suzanne was my neighbor of over twelve years and my dog saver many times. She is trustworthy and has been in this business for a very long time. Over the years, she walked, let out, played with and cared for my pup many, many times… often in a pinch. She cares about the dogs she walks/​boards and continues to keep her knowledge current. For example, she has gone through an extensive training for her own dog to become a therapy dog for a children’s ward at the hospital. I would recommend her highly.

This is the first Unilocal review I have written and I do it only because Suzanne’s service was exemplary. She walked my dog for over 7 years in SF until we moved to Marin. After we moved, we never found another dog walker who provided a similar level of professionalism and loving care as Suzanne.
Suzanne loves dogs, but this is her BUSINESS. She virtually never called in sick (even during flu season) and would go to great lengths to prep her clients for days she would be away. I never came home to a dirty dog, even during the rainy/​dirty season either. My dog loved her and was always content after an outing with her.
I cannot recommend Suzanne highly enough. She is just a pro and a sweet, sweet person too.

Suzanne is awesome! She is very good with my vizsla puppy (who has an unlimited amount of energy) and he always comes home happy and tired. She is very reliable, she loves the dogs and overall, a very easy person to work with. Hobbs (my dog) adores her and it has made my life a lot easier. It is also good to know my puppy is always in good hands. Definitely give her a call!
