Specialties

In the five element system of acupuncture, body, mind, and spirit are all considered to be interdependent. When there is an imbalance in the body’s energies, there can be disharmony or disease. Acupuncture uses specific points to aid the body’s energy to flow easily, allowing harmony and health to be restored.

I help people reduce their sugar cravings, increase their energy and reduce their weight. Fertility and menopause are also helped with acupuncture. Many of my patients have found relief from various pain symptoms.

Established in 2003.

My colleague, Alan Scopp LAc and I have established Union Street Integrative Health Center. We have several different types of healing modalities at our location.

I went to acupuncture school at AIMC back when it was called MEIJI, in Berkeley. In my last 2 years of TCM school, I also did additional training in Classical Five Element Acupuncture. Once I received my LAc, I opened my practice at 1863 Union Street doing only Five Element Acupuncture.

I am so grateful to Donna. I’ve been going to her for a few years now and it’s hard to express in a review how much it’s meant to me. Not only is she an amazing acupuncturist (I’ve literally come in with a headache that disappeared by the end of the session)…she is one of the warmest, most genuinely caring people I know. She gives heartfelt advice and offers supportive space to express anything you need to. And no matter what I’m going through… I know that just showing up there will make me feel better… and cared for. I’ve been to a few different acupuncturists, and they didn’t compare to Donna’s approach. She’s not just about the needles… she treats the whole person.

Donna is THE BEST!!!
Donna has been so wonderful since I started going to her. She has helped so much with my pregnancy and with helping me manage some other health problems. She is friendly and personable with me and really makes sure we get me in tip top health shape! She is always on time and keeps me updated with nutritional and health advice/​facts. She got me started on some excellent nutritional supplements that have helped me feel so much better! She truly knows what she is doing! From the moment you enter the office where Donna is, there is compassionate energy and great ginger tea. Donna is a great healer has done incredible things to my body working on issues around back pain and dizziness related to hormone imbalances. Her acupuncture is amazing and loving (which is saying a lot given I don’t like needles). 5 Elements is a specific type of work, where the energy is moved without leaving the needles in, and also Donna stays with you in the room. This is a great «first acupuncturist» experience for those who have never had it. Donna knows supplements and herbs and combines this information with nutrition information and support. She has deep integrity, skill, and love.

Donna is one of the top acupuncturists in San Francisco! She is top notch in every way. As an acupuncturist Donna is extremely skilled and professional. She also has a wealth of knowledge on health and nutrition related issues. Donna works with patients on weight loss, pregnancy, and overall immunity issues among other things.
Donna seems to be dialed into a whole network of expert health practitioners, which I believe enhances her offerings. I go to her every month for tune ups and have to say my overall health as been greatly improved!
Donna is a really kind hearted, honest, and knowledgeable acupuncturist and nutritional consultant. She is passionate about helping people live healthier lives. You will learn much from a visit to her office. I would book with her now while she still has openings in her schedule.

I came to Donna for acupuncture after falling off my bicycle. I had broken my wrist and though it was technically «healed» according to Kaiser, it still felt wrong and tingly. Donna treated my energy in my feet (!), back, and wrist. After 2 sessions I could already feel that it just seemed «right» again.
Donna’s knowledge and calm come through during the session. Though I was new and skeptical to acupuncture, she put me at ease and made me a believer!
While you’re there, ask her about her line of multivitamins and all natural cold relief pills!

I was always interested in trying acupuncture but never had the chance until I bought the groupon for this! I must say that I am highly impressed with Donna because she just has a warm and calming presence about her! She didn’t make me feel nervous and in fact really took the time to talk to me as a person and not make me feel like I was just a patient. She really wanted to know about my background in order to make the experience better. She doesn’t just throw information at you but instead makes suggestions as to how to guide yourself in the right direction! She is truly amazing and can’t wait to make an appointment with her again! I can’t say enough great things about Donna and the Five Elements Acupuncture she practices. I was kind of lukewarm about acupuncture until I had a session with her. I feel much more centered and calm after a session. Donna is a caring, intuitive practitioner with a gentle demeanor. I recommended her to friend who had never had acupuncture before and he was ecstatic after his treatment (too bad he lives on the East Coast!). Donna is an amazing acupuncturist, along with being a great person. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to try acupuncture for the first time. She is very gentle and kind, and when I let slip that I actually have a fear of needles (was trying to get over my phobia) she was really accommodating and understanding.

I have been so fortunate to find Donna Parker, a classical five elements acupuncturist. She has profoundly changed my life for the better. I have tried acupuncture before but nothing like this. I was suffering from post traumatic stress and after my first session, I felt like a new human being – I cannot recommend her highly enough. AND you must try the facial acupuncture! Yes, facial! Donna began offering facial acupuncture some time ago and as I work in film and prefer NOT to use strange fillers and plastic surgery, I opted to try facial acupuncture. Let’s just say that at 45, I was sent in for an audition for a woman in her 40’s and did NOT get the job because I looked 10 years too young! Don’t opt for expensive fillers and surgery – you don’t have to.
