Eileen is extremely knowledgable and took the time to understand my personal tax situation. She explained options to me that I (nor my previous tax lady) never knew were available. I found her via Unilocal.I was new in the Bay Area and I needed someone who knew complex tax scenarios. Her experience and expertise is all that you need. She is prompt and straight to the point. She understands your situation and her competency is above average. She even would send you a packet of your upcoming tax forms in advance so that it’s already set for your review and all you need is to consult with her to wrap things up for the current tax season. She thinks ahead for you. Her service is great.

I never write reviews — but Eileen’s superb service, looking after the interests of this ancient historian who frankly dislikes all matters financial, has inspired me. We have a complex S-​corp taxation situation, which I manage in a less than fully knowledgeable manner. Eileen, in her extremely competent — and yes, even kind — manner, has kept the headaches largely at bay for four years. That’s after she corrected a major error on the part of my previous accountant, saving me over 12K on a single return. Eileen Magnes is a TAX GURU! I am not kidding. Thank goodness for Holly B.‘s referral. She has an incredible background, work experience and vast knowledge such that other Accountants and CPAs sometimes refer their clients to Eileen for certain situations that require more attention or intricate dealings with the IRS (after all, she used to work for them for many years). Aside from all that, my husband and I found her to be highly professional, very personable, direct and charming at the same time (yes– all this in a Tax Consultant. If you are self-​employed (or even if not) and you pay taxes, you need Eileen Magnes. I used to think I could do my taxes on my own. Luckily, I reformed, and sought help from a professional. I have not looked back since starting with Eileen. She has been extraordinarily helpful to me.
Eileen was an IRS auditor for over 20 years, which means she knows the ins and outs of taxes. She’s efficient and knowledgable, and for a one-​woman show (her grandson is now helping out), she has a fast turn-​around time.
