Elite Event: Brows, Beauty and Bubbly @ Benefit

Once again, a great YEE organized by Abby! I’ve had the opportunity to attend YEEs in the sbay too when Abby was CC there.
This was a fun «ladies-​only» event.
It was very thoughtful of Abby to have this event, especially with the holidays around, we all gotta get rid of any signs of a mane growig on our faces, and also doll up with make-​up for the holidays.
The venue was a fun little Benefits store. It was fun learning about the services and products Benefit offers. I went home with some cool eye liner stick, mascara and SPF foundation! win win! woohoo!
I’m not a huge fan of the bubblies … yeah I know, I said that out loud… buuuuuut, courtage sparkling wine was fantastic! the best part is — they sell at various grocery stores such as Whole Foods! yet another win
I had a great time meeting other Elites, uh huh… yet another win!
There were cupcakes and chocolates, what more could a girl ask for!

What a great way to start the holidays.

It had been quite some time since I had made it to an Elite event, and I am SO glad that this is the one that finally worked with my schedule. I have recently been wearing more Benefit makeup, so this was especially appealing to me.
At the event, I got my lashes tinted (and apparently looked INSANE while doing so), and they are amazing. The next day I just curled my lashes and walked out the door. No mascara necessary. This is especially wonderful for the weekend. Anyway, the process was quick (about 10 minutes) and totally painless, and the tint lasts 4 – 6 weeks. I’ll be factoring in this small fee (I think lash tints usually run $ 25?) into my budget, because I’m now addicted.
In addition to all of the Benefit and Unilocal staff being so friendly and approachable, the other lady Elite’s were awesome as well. It was nice to be at a smaller event where you could actually chat with people!
I ended up purchasing the Stay Flawless 15-​hour Primer and I LOVE it.

I was originally left off this event list, but the beauty gods above miraculously opened a spot for me! YAY!
Background: one of my BFFs from childhood was a beauty editor in NYC for a popular magazine. She has been raving about Benefit products for years! Her office receives the best of the best, so when she raves about a product I know it’s for real!
I have been a fan of the hula blush/​brozer and Porefessional for some time now. I’ve also dabbled Benefit sets via Sephora over the years. Thankfully, this event opened my eyes to several other helpful products that I didn’t even know existed!
Sadly, I did not have plans to frolic in public after this event. I opted to have my eyebrows waxed and played around with concealers. The eyebrow waxing went swimmingly and I experienced minimal pain. The helpful makeup artist applied concealer and fakeup (yes, fakeup!) to my dull and exhausted skin. I was immediately sold on the stick of fakeup! It did wonders for my under-​eye circles.
All in all, I ended up purchasing a gift set for my goddaughter and fakeup for myself. The goody bags were an extra-​special bonus! I absolutely adore the darling coasters. The sample-​size makeup treats are delightful as well! Oh, and I’ve already used the canvas Benefit tote twice since receiving it!
I grabbed a services menu for future reference. I will certainly remember this Benefit store in the future for brow treatments, makeup refill pit-​stops, and a drop-​in place to grab a gift for a gal pal!

I had SO much fun at this event!!! The highlights:
— Got a brow tint for the first time in my life. Super quick and easy, no pain at all. It’s like hair dye for your eyebrows, so that your hairs themselves are darker and not the skin. At first I kind of panicked because I looked like Frieda Kahlo. And tinting all the stray hairs made me realize how much I need to pluck my eyebrows. But after I showered, the skin underneath my brows wasn’t dyed anymore, and now my brows look great! I normally fill them in everyday, so now I don’t need to for the next 4 – 6 weeks! I could totally see myself getting brow tints on the reg.
— Got the most awesome tote bag with tons of goodies and sample products to try at home! Eek so excited!
— Tried delicious $ 1 cupcakes from Mission Minis, which I somehow missed during all my runs down Valencia and Mission when I lived there. Along with some really interesting and beautiful chocolates (i.e. grapefruit and sweet potato)!
Thank you so much Abby for planning this amazing event — one of the best Unilocal events I’ve ever been to! I also got to meet Monica, her super sweet intern!

What a fun ladies’ night out on the town! Brows, bubbly, makeup, and mini cupcakes – does it get better than that?
Benefit is a pretty adorable spot as it is, but dolled up with balloons, cupcakes, and rose, it was a woman’s wonderland.
I got my brows waxed and think I finally found my spot after two years of desperately searching for a middle of the road option– not outrageously expensive, but also not in the creepy back room of a nail salon. In addition to doing a great job refining my brows, my esthetician also taught me how to upkeep them on my own– something that no one has ever bothered to show me in years of waxing! Thanks for the brow schooling, Benefit!
In addition, everyone in the store was super helpful guiding the makeup amateur that I am in the right direction. For the first time in my life, I wasn’t afraid to admit I didn’t know the difference between blush and bronzer for fear the makeup obsessed behotches of the world roll their eyes in disdain. Not only do I now know, but I also have some awesome products to expand my makeup palate.
All of the goodies, cute tote bag, and coasters were beyond adorable and useful– the best possible gift! I can’t wait to try out all my new Benefit products and begin my journey in the world of makeup. But if I just look like a clown, please don’t be afraid to give a girl a heads up ;)

Yay! Thanks Benefit & Abby for this fun & pampering event! This was my first Elite Event as well and I had a blast! I only got my eyebrows tinted because being Asian, I unfortunately was not blessed by the lash gods for long, thick lashes. Actually, I have pretty sad brows too, the shape is fine but I’ve always struggled with looking like a boy if I don’t draw in my brows.
Bottom line is that Paula did an AMAZING job on my eyebrow tint. I really hope they last. Initially I was scared/​even a bit skeptical because they looked really thick immediately after the treatment. However, Paula reassured me that after I shower and wash my face, my brows would look fine. And she was right! WOOOOHOOO! Yay, perhaps I have one less step to do as I apply my makeup in the morning. I think my new addiction would be eyebrow tinting. I will definitely do this again. :)
The chocolate, mini brownies, and champs were awesome too!

Most people who know me or have seen me in public know that I don’t usually wear any makeup. I walked into the event and immediately helped by a really awesome woman who waxed my eyebrows and dyed Nora S’s eyelashes. She was very friendly and gave me good insight into exactly how they do brow waxing. Then right after the waxing, another lady grabbed me and started doing my makeup. She applied BeneTint, light moisturizer/​foundation, something to thicken my eyebrows, and mascara. It was very light and looked really nice.
The Mission Minis cupcakes were great, as was the Hint Water. I’d never had Hint Water. It was honestly good. I was a little skeptical, but it was delicious.
The staff at the store were very approachable and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable for being someone who rarely wears makeup. I ended up buying some BeneTint.
I would definitely come back to the store. Thank you Benefit and Unilocal for hosting a really fun event for women.

This was the ultimate girls night out! I had the pleasure of getting my eyebrows groomed and tinted by Paula. She was great with her technique and also provided helpful tips. I felt comfortable enough to pay her another visit in the future. Amanda, a makeup specialist, did a beautiful job bronzing me up. I’m obsessed with rockater!
This store has everything a girl needs to feel dolled and beautiful. Did I mention the full body bronzing station!!! You must see it to believe it.

I’m glad that this was my first Unilocal Elite event EVER! Benefit provided such high quality services with great service — I was very impressed. Plus this was the first time I have gotten my eyebrows waxed, so lots of firsts tonight. I enjoyed the varieties of champagne, cupcakes, and tray-​passed chocolates. The whole atmosphere of the event was just so well-​crafted.
Everyone on the Unilocal logistics side, including Abby, was super friendly in helping me figure out everything from checking into the event to retrieving my little gifts. Thank you for that! The gifts themselves were so wonderful too. Hands down the cutest tote and coasters that I own now.
I had so much fun, and I will definitely be attempting to get into future Unilocal events, because this one blew my expectations out of the water!

What a cute event for the lovely ladies of Unilocal Elite! I very much enjoyed the mini cupcakes and chocolate. My favorite chocolate was the rosemary and pomegranate. I also liked the sparkling rosé. I hope to get some bottles at Whole Foods soon.
My eyebrows needed some refining, and Paula did a great job! I loved the arch she gave, and they contour my face really well. And Kyle polished them up. He also recommended some products to up my brow game.
The staff overall were super friendly and very welcoming. The space and décor is perfect for a one-​on-​one experience with your esthetician. It’s big enough to walk around, but can’t hold a crowd that can overwhelm you.

What an beautiful event!
I went early to scoop out the scene and the staff at Benefit were so kind. There was a warm welcome followed by a fun makeover. I got my eyebrows threaded and cleaned up. Then my makeup done and my eyebrows filled in. My favorite product is the gimme brow — which I’m debating if I should stick up to get the freebie. There’s a gift with a two product purchase!
