Karl Schmetz is head and shoulders above any PT I’ve ever experienced. He’s interested in you learning how to carry yourself and position yourself so that eventually you will be able to stay out of pain on your own – but in the meanwhile, he knows how to ask things to move in ways that free further changes. Cannot recommend him highly enough.

Karl is like a witch doctor. He begins by listening thoroughly to the problem and its history. Treats sensitively, and sometimes mysteriously (working on a distant body part that somehow magically relieves the problem). He wants to educate you about factors that could have led to the problem, and is interested in helping you function without his help, rather than making you dependent on his services. The office is easily accessible by BART. Deserves ten stars– go!

Karl is amazing. He’s a great detective, so he’s able to figure out exactly what the PT problem is and treat that instead of just treating the symptoms — My 17 year old athlete-​son (baseball and soccer) adores him because he addressed a couple of his injuries, then showed him how he could correct and treat the issues himself. In the process he actually improved my son’s performance. Definitely 5 stars.

Karl is THE only person who can fix me.
When the pain is too much to bear, and gentle treatments aren’t cutting the mustard, go see Karl.
You’ll pay cash, there is no insurance, no credit card. He’s expensive, but worth every penny. Every single ‘my neck amazingly feels better after I tried all those other things and nothing worked’ penny.
Karl is the go to PT for the san francisco ballet company, so he knows about overworked bodies.
Only reason I withhold one star is because I SO wish I could use my insurance or even a credit card here. Star withheld has nothing to do with the treatment you get here, which is tops I say TOPS!
