Fox Walks

Fox Walks is absolutely incredible! I have been working with Candice for over 8 years. Her professionalism and communication is top notch! I have my own dog walking business and as a pet care provider one of the most difficult things besides finding someone to care for your own furry babies is finding someone to entrust with your livelihood in caring for other people’s furry family members. Candice has been an inspiration to me and she will be there with you through thick and thin in your pet’s life. A diamond in the «ruff»!:)

I honestly don’t know where to begin when describing what an absolute godsend Candice has been to our family and our rescue pup Wally. She has been walking our dog since he was about 5 months old (he is now 2) and that time, Wally has had some rescue issues (high anxiety, shy, scared of people) that Candice has navigated like a pro. She is so fun and playful with him and seeing him so excited to see her makes us so happy. He is a border collie mix with more energy then even he knows what to do with and after walking with Candice he always comes home tired and happy.
Outside of how great of a dog walker she is, Candice is also just a great person. She is kind, honest, responsible and ultra-​flexible (she has taken Wally overnight on very short notice, has taken him on double walks etc.) which is so wonderful since I work in a job with a crazy travel schedule. I never ever worry when Wally is with Candice and as a crazy dog mom, that’s the best feeling in the world.
Any dog would be lucky to have Candice and any owner would be even luckier. Thank you Candice!

This review is WAY overdue. Candice has been walking our two pups (a pug with some special needs and an energetic Brittany mix) for over two years and WE LOVE HER! We met Candice through a neighbor in our building, right as her business was starting up and I’ve personally experienced the care, concern, and authenticity with which Candice has built her business.
Candice is reliable, responsible, flexible, so incredibly kind, and a real partner when anything comes up with the dogs. She has a personal relationship with them and dogs can’t lie… THEY LOVE HER! I was so nervous to move to the city with two dogs and honestly, I don’t know what we’d do without her. She helps make it all possible and has sincerely become a pillar in our life in the city.

Candice is a dog parent’s dream! She’s been hanging with our pooch Brixton for nearly a year and has been nothing but prompt, communicative, positive and caring. Brix gets a great run every day and has really blossomed into a much more socialized guy because of the constant, unleashed interaction with other dogs. I love that Candice provides transportation (and the extra adventure of the car ride), with a variety of locations, adventures and ample sincere dog love. She’s been kind enough to take him for boarding when we’ve gone out of town and not been able to take him, and her rates for boarding (AND walks!) are super reasonable. We’re so thrilled Brixton is in the Fox Walks crew — Candice is a dog-​send. :P

I don’t normally write bad reviews but I feel like its my duty to say something for the sake of the dogs.
We used to use Candice until we found out that she wasn’t always taking our dogs out when she said she was, which breaks my heart knowing our big, young, energetic pups were home all day. (Thank god we have an open back door and garden.) We were first suspicious when we noticed our dogs had tons of energy when we got home unlike when she first started walking them.
Then one day my husband decided to work from home and didn’t leave the house all day — not for a second. He called me and asked if the dog walker was coming. I texted her asking if she walked the dogs. (seeing how we were already suspicious, I was curious what she was going to say.) She responded saying she had walked them and that they were great. Enough said.
I was heartbroken and furious. (not to mention, she was obviously charging us too. but that was the least of my worries!) I then response and told her my husband had been home all day… she took 5 hours to respond and then said something about how she came but one of our dogs was having a fear problem about getting into the car so she decided not to take them??? Again, that wouldn’t make sense because my husband was home all day and 2. if one of our dogs was having a fear problem, I would want to know about it! Clearly we immediately fired her, ignored her last invoice and never heard from her again other than receiving an apology text saying that she felt horrible etc etc.
All I can say is our poor dogs — which is the driving reason behind writing this review as I don’t like to talk poorly of people, but this is an experience that needs to be heard.
I would like to finish by saying, I’m sure she’s a good dog walker if she’s actually walking your dogs. I just don’t want any dogs out there to go though what our dogs went through.

I’m happy to say that Candice with Fox Walks is GREAT! Our pup loves his adventures! The weekday walks give Bear time to socialize, get great exercise, and gives mom and dad a break from the immediate walk when we get home from work. Bear has made new friends and looks forward to seeing Candice at every pick up! I’d recommend Fox Walks to anyone! :)

Candice has been walking my pup, Rambler, for about 4 months now — and we love her! Rambler was previously «dismissed» from his other walker for running away a couple of times. I expressed my concerns with Candice and she promised to work on his recall so that he could still have time exploring off-​leash. We haven’t had any problems! Candice is also great with him — he can be really shy with new people but took to her right away. Can’t recommend her enough.

Wow. My husband and I were really in a pickle when our dog walker was unable to continue walking our dog due to the new regulations here in SF. He recommended Candice with Fox Walks, and I feel like we were sent an angel! Not only is she super thoughtful and sweet, she’s great at what she does.
Candice came over the same day I called her and began walking our 3 year old Vizsla, Brody the following day. We were over the moon! Not only is she incredibly organized and certified in everything (ie. animal CPR, dog walking, etc.) she sends us pictures of Brody. I swear, she must be a professional animal photographer too — I don’t know how she gets all of the dogs to sit still and SMILE at the camera for her photos! Added bonus :)
Anyway, if you’re looking for a dog walker, you’d be lucky to use Fox Walks. If you already have a dog walker, I’d bet he/​she probably isn’t as great as Candice is!

Love, love, love, love Candice. I swear she’s like a dog whisperer, she instantly connected with my pup, got his attention, got him to focus, and got him to be calm (all very challenging with my hyperactive dog!) She’s also diligent in making sure all the dogs have top notch recall skills before allowing them to play off-​leash. In addition to being great with my pup (and all her dogs), she’s great with the humans! BONUS: I get amazing photos from her after their walks are complete!

For years, my husband and I were lucky enough to both be able to bring our dog to work every day, so we never had a dog walker. When that situation changed, we were panicked about trusting our «fur baby» with someone else. Fortunately, a friend gave us Candice’s information and it has been a fantastic transition!
Candice began with a thoughtful meeting with our dog and us, asking all the important questions — are there places he doesn’t like to be touched? Does he have any eccentricities with other dogs or a certain kind of toy? etc. She didn’t bat an eye when we answered her questions with plenty of detail :)
Now that our guy has been going with the pack for several weeks, we see that we had nothing to worry about. He is well taken care of, exhausted and HAPPY when we get home to him. The play time and being off leash is just what he needs to stay healthy and happy. Candice is great about being flexible if our schedule changes, as well as keeping us up to date on pictures or video showing how much fun he’s having.
Fox Walks has truly been a 5-​star experience, I feel so lucky to have found Candice for our big guy!

While on an afternoon walk, Wilbur, our 7 month old Frenchie, led me (pulled me) to the Marina Fox Walks Crew. As he sniffed out the crew, Candice skillfully manged the gang. I casually asked Candice about «her dogs.» To my surprise, she replied that she was the gang’s dog walker. From the attention, care and genuine affection she adorned the dogs with, I honestly thought they were her «furbabies.» At the time, we were casually looking for a dog walker for Wilbur to provide both exercise and socialization. Candice went on to describe her Pup Adventures… Hikes in the Presidio, Frolicking at the Beach, Adventures at Crissy Field. Sign me up!
After a consultation session and some paperwork (Candice has all the necessary stamps of approval, etc.), Wilbur was ready to join the gang. Wilbur anxiously anticipates his Adventures and always returns home exhausted. Wilbur has also stayed with Candice while we were out of town. Amidst the stress of traveling, Candice eased our minds with her availability and flexibility. Wilbur had his own mini-​vacation filled with daily excursions while staying in a loving home. Additionally, Candice will often send pictures of Wilbur hanging out with his friends and updates regarding his day.
If you are looking for a dog walker who cares for your dog like they are your own — Fox Walks is for you!

We honestly thought no one would connect with our two pups. One is older and cranky and the other young and not experienced being out and about. Candice was patient and loving from the beginning. Our dogs have never been happier and in better shape.

My pup Kobe (if he could talk) and I cannot say enough on how great Fox Walks is! I was fortunate to be able to take Kobe to work everyday for the past couple years. I started a new job where dogs weren’t allowed and I was in need of a walker. I didn’t know where to start looking and I magically met Candice through a friend! When I first met Candice she immediately came off warm, great energy and fun loving. She naturally enjoys animals and shows a great passion for them. Which I got from her right away within 5 minutes from our first conversation.
She has been taking great care of Kobe for over a year now. During this time, I could always count on her to be there. She has always been professional and handled Kobe like he is her own. Whenever I see Kobe around her he is always smiling and excited. She has been a tremendous blessing for Kobe and I.
Not only is Fox Walks GREAT, also affordable!!! If you want to come home to a happy pup, I HIGHLY recommend to use Fox Walks!

I would be absolutely lost without Candice and Fox Walks! My dog used to go to doggy daycare but then I changed jobs and was leaving before doggy daycare opened. I was in search of an alternative and thanks to a friends recommendation I found Candice.
I can’t say enough good things about Candice. She has Carter out of the house for about three hours and he always comes back exhausted. After I started my new job, but before I found Candice, Carter was keeping me up at night wanting to play no matter how much I walked him in the morning and the evening. Ever since Candice started taking him he sleeps through the night.
My dog is super attached to me! If I’m around he’s usually glued to my side. However, I work from home occasionally and when I do I get to see how truly excited Carter gets to see Candice. The fact that he runs to her while I’m home makes me sooo happy! He does get a little confused and runs back and forth between the two of us, not quite sure who to go with. But I can’t even tell you how wonderful it is to see my pup soooo happy to go out with Candice. It is such a relief to know that I don’t have to worry while I’m at work and he’s being taken care of.

I have nothing but excellent things to say about Fox Walks! My pup became a member of the Fox Walks clan a week after we adopted her, at 2 months of age. She was too young to go with the rest of the group, but Candice would come mid-​day to feed her lunch and spend some «puppy playtime», at a discounted rate. My little one has grown up with Fox Walks and now goes with the group on daily adventure hikes, after which she definitely is both exhausted and happy from spending some quality time with her puppy friends! I work from home one day a week, and my pup is always very excited when Candice arrives to pick her up. Not to mention the hikes and adventures last 3+ hours! Now that is some quality time (and at a great price too)!
I have also utilized the Fox Walks boarding, which was such a simple and smooth process. Since my pup was familiar with Fox Walks, I decided to have her board with Candice a weekend that I was away. Candice picked her up after finishing up her hike on Friday, and then I picked her up on my way home on Sunday. While boarding, she got to exercise on daily walks just like during the week. It was a very reasonable price for such personal attention.
Beyond the actual deliverables I mentioned above, the owner — Candice Fox — is also certified, insured and up to date on all legalities associated with dog walking in San Francisco. Additionally, she has done great work with helping to train my little one on recall, sit, stay and heal.
Overall I do not know what I would do without Fox Walks, I highly recommend their services!
