Amit is the guy to see if you need friendly and expert advise. If I can sum up my experience in 3 words: cheap, easy, effective!

I stopped in here just looking for some protein bars to beat that mid-​afternoon sugar craving. I came away with a really good experience, and decided to write a review.
The super-​friendly staffer (was he actually the owner? I forgot to ask) was helpful and knowledgeable about ALL his products. There was no hard sell. In fact, quite the opposite — he steered me clear of buying some things I really didn’t need.
Some of the products are a bit daunting (really BIG JARS) but the guy who helped me knows his products so well he can take you to exactly the product you need for the goal you want to reach.

My vocabulary seems really poor when it comes to describe how much these two guys genuinely care about their customers, how enthusiastic they devote to this GNC joint!!! Every conversation I had with them when I shop over there is naturally a pre workout booster to me because they really trying to get me to a whole another level by all the helpful recommendations n products. If it wasn’t my laziness I would be the first Asian Arnold Schwarzenegger by now! I wish I could give them 100 stars cuz they just BALLERS!

Best GNC in the city as far as customer service goes. Staff is great as well!

GN— I see you among all the tantalizing cupcake shops and the women’s clothing mecca.
Out for a nice Sunday stroll, well if you call a 4 mile walk uphill to get to your destination a stroll, I was happy to run into a GNC. Nutrition stores always seem to pop up among the women’s clothing stores and malls. Glaring into the sun… could it be or am I just delirious? Yes, a GNC! Now this is my kind of store (could you guess from my 4 mile stroll?)
Why this GNC is awesome:
–Service: Get this, I’ve been to some great GNCs, good ones, and just plain ugly. Those that are plain ugly get that ranking because of customer service, as do those that are great! — Amit, the owner, makes this GNC great! He knows his stuff and showed me some product they carry that the typical GNC doesn’t. He can hold a good protein convo, and even admitted to that a certain competitor’s store (which shall not be named) had great prices. (Hey, he said it.) Anyway, a straight up knowledgeable and honest guy.
–Product: He told me about a couple upcoming things I didn’t even know existed… a rarity with my wealth of protein knowledge.
–To quote a real estate agent, «location, location, location»: A great location on Chestnut Street. It, by far, is not the largest store, but a solid selection.
What makes a store good — the product. What makes a store great — the service!

I went in and described my training and I got hooked up with exactly what I needed! I got two different types of protein powder, one for post workout with electrolytes included and one for before bed. I’m already seeing great results and it’s only be a few weeks!
I would recommend this place to anyone at any fitness level. Great values for the quality products they sell!

Best GNC store I’ve ever walked into. Amit is very helpful and friendly. Will always be coming here for my Quest bars!

I believe we were met and greeted by the owner, who told us he had the least expensive Quest Bars around as we were looking at them. Boy, was he right, the price was the lowest I have seen anywhere, that’s even with a coupon.
I usually don’t patronize GNC’s because you need to pay for a gold membership just to get something that is already overinflated in my humble opinion. If shipping works out to the east coast, I will gladly offer my business to this store.
It’s nice to see a no nonsense, low price offers on a popular product. When we stopped by another GNC in SF so we could reload our supply, we just walked out after waiting the price check, it started off at $ 59/​box, then $ 39.99, and then the gold price of $ 28.99

I went in looking for electrolyte tablets or powder to add to my water since I am drinking 1 gallon + of water per day. The gentleman working the front desk informed me that they didn’t have any electrolyte tabs, but they did have a powder with BCAA’s and electrolytes, which was 0 calories annnd on sale at ½ price. I love when a store has a knowlegable & helpful staff. They were also open at 9 am on a Sunday, which was lovely and convenient.

I don’t like going into GNCs. I usually feel like they try way way way too hard to upsell, and they usually don’t understand that i’m not trying to become a meathead — just want to be healthier, etc. This location is awesome though! Amit especially, I really felt like he was trying to help me find the best value for the things I needed and totally understood (and didn’t bug me any more) when I told him that I didn’t want anything else. This is the place!

This is by far the best GNC in the city! Uche provided great customer service when I was browsing for a product that best fit me. During my first visit, Uche was extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgable regarding all of the products in the store and he provided with very helpful suggestions. He was not pushy or pressuring me to buy any products and I genuinely enjoyed my experience at this GNC. I will definitely be back!

Great store and great staff! Having only been to the store a few times, Amit remembered me the second I walked in and knew what I was looking for. He was extremely knowledgeable and made recommendations based on my fitness goals.

This is by far the best GNC store in San Francisco! I was referred to the store’s Co-​Owner Amit by my Physical Trainer at Live Fit Gym. First of all, Amit is a genuinely nice guy with incredible customer service skills and a positive attitude. He helped me find some very high quality nutritional supplements that are helping me build lean muscle mass. I’m already seeing the results after just a few workouts! Amit also helped me keep the cost of these products within my budget. He didn’t try to sell me a lot of expensive products that I don’t need. I walked out of the store feeling like I spent my money wisely, and I also received the best customer service in San Francisco! I am definitely a returning customer.

Amit and Uche are the reason why I exclusively shop here. Aside from the great selection of products (which they know down to the milligram), they’re extremely helpful in understanding your goals, remembering them each visit, and helping you strategize toward future gains/​losses.
I’ll never order online again, as long as I have access to the fitness concierge of Uche and Amit. Part of their charm is the zero-​pressure environment they’ve created within the store. Thank you both for making each visit enjoyable and informative.

I came in once or twice before the change in ownership and it was just a run of the mill GNC. But now that Amit has taken over, it’s my only place to go for supplements. As a powerlifter, Crossfitter and personal trainer, I would highly recommend this location to any of my fellow athletes and to my clients as well.
Also, when Amit isn’t in, I’m always happy to see Uche. What a nice guy, and knows his stuff too. Overall just fantastic customer service without being overbearing in any way. I’m a very satisfied customer.

As someone who is knowledgeable but not all knowing when it comes to supplements, Chestnut Street GNC is a great place to get advice on products that fit your tastes and fitness regiment.
The place is fully stocked with pretty much everything you need and the staff does a great job of assisting when you need it. The employee and owner, Amit, was very helpful in finding my Wife a protein that was both vegan and didn’t have the texture of sand once inserted in liquid. Amit said he had been working in supplements and nutrition for 7 years, which showed in his suggestions to me and explanation of product benefits.
The place looks like a normal GNC, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone in San Francisco that wants a quality product and customer experience. People that walk in know the employees by first name and its nice to see that this Franchise has established itself in the neighborhood.

The staff alone is the five stars even though it’s only two guys working the store most of the time. Uche and meat aren’t your usual car salesman who push whatever product down your throat. They are very helpful and work well explains what they have and how it can help me GET THOSE GAINS while they work with your budget. Definitely be going back and making progress.

Buying #health drinks, protein shakes, and all that nutritious vitamin-​exploding products #can be overwhelming but given proper guidance and #trust-​worthy advisors, you can chill and have a relaxing shopping experience.
This particular #GNC shop along the #Marina not only gives a customer a touristic ambiance but also allows a #buyer to gain confidence on the people who run the business. Under the new management, this place is lookin’ pretty spiffy! Lots of #smiles, lots of friendly and #professional health advice, and lots of goodness. So here’s to fresh start and healthy living!
