Cannot overstate the grooviness of this operation. It’s clearly a mom&pop business, and they maintain the customer service that only a very small eye-​to-​eye exchange can provide: For a small fee, I got treated like a friend, and had one of the best days of my life because of it. They were almost out of bikes for the day, so they gave me one of their most expensive models at a hugely discounted price, along with a helmet, water, locks, and Allen wrench thrown in for free. This bike was no mere heavy metal: I doubt if it weighed 7 pounds, and I carried it over one arm and clawed my way up all SF’s hills on it. I did the bridge, the piers, some parks, and Lombard street’s hill comfortably all in a few hours. Fell in love with the city from the back of this trusty carbon-​steel contraption. And because they have such long hours I had it for most of the day. I had one of the best days of my life because of this shop, for the cost of a not-​too-​swanky dinner. Give this shop your business, they need to survive.

Had us wait in the hot sun, said it would be another 15 min then was like why are you waiting if you don’t have a reservation?

Showed up without appointment to rent a bicycle for the weekend, and was promptly set up! They have competitive prices, attentive service, and extremely comfortable bike seats (my tush was happy).

Boban aided me renting the bicycle, and the process was pain-​free.

Our experience here was great! We just moved to the city and wanted to explore. A friend of ours recomended this place, mentioning that they have a locals discount. It was a busy Friday, but luckily we showed up before noon, and had some bikes left. Boban made our experience run smoothly from registration to check out. He also gave us the perfect route to take across the park, to the ocean, folowing the coast all the way over the bridge, to sausalito, and we took the ferry back. Great customer service, well maintained bikes, We can’t wait to take visitors here!

— If you didn’t know this already, there are many HILLS in S.F., so be prepared for a fantastic leg workout… among some amazing views of the bay, Golden Gate Bridge, etc.
We would definitely return. I think I would get there a little earlier (we didn’t stop by until after 2:00) and check out the bikes before making a selection, but would absolutely come back.

This place was Awesome, came here today… With my friend just to go biking. There was a tall guy, his name was bobbin or bobby.
The guy was friendly and energetic, I thought he was the owner cause he was very knowledgable, and he’s by himself too!
He knows San Francisco well! And he’s not even from San Francisco, he said he’s from a weird country above greece.
The bikes were clean, and pretty comfortable, he helped my friend out with knowledgable info. It was a great work out and a quick tour around sf. I told him I came to USA to study, and he gave a nice $ 5 discount just for being a student. Wow, that’s nice cause «us» students are normally poor.
I would recommend others to visit this place great customer service. And had a great chat. So yeah. I enjoyed taking the bike ride, maybe now il rent from this place instead of buying a bicycle.

Not gonna lie… the struggle up the SF hills was real. I haven’t ridden a bike in over 15 years, so if I can do it – SO CAN YOU! You get to see some amazing sights and landmarks around the city and it’s even more rewarding knowing that you did some exercise too.
To prepare yourself: Reserve your bike online! We got there around 10:30am on a Tuesday and there was still a line out the door. I would emphasize paying close attention to the bike shop manager — he gives you really important information, draws out potential routes for you, gives you drop off times and locations, food recommendations and contact information.
Along the route: We decided to go through the Golden Gate Park over to Ocean Beach, then Lands End, and then the Presidio. We got lost a few times, so pay close attention to your map, the bike route signs, and never hesitate to ask for help. Also, don’t hesitate to take a few stops along the way. My friend and I decided to document a photo of our bikes in front of some major landmarks. Pretty much… it’s to document our struggle of a bike ride.
The End Goal: The Golden Gate Bridge! It was probably the MOST rewarding experience to make it here. At each stopping point, we could see the image of the bridge get closer and closer… making the journey more and more worth it. I suggest you take a stop near the bridge, take some photos — maybe a selfie or two — and CONGRATULATE YOURSELF!
Post Golden Gate: we biked over to Sausalito (which is an extra 15 – 20 minutes biking downhill) and decided to go explore Sausalito and grab lunch. Ended up getting fish & chips & beer. Okay… so I got a bit too buzzed to bike back. But there’s a solution for that! Take the ferry back to the bike station right in front of the Ferry Building.
All in all, I had a blast! For a total of $ 29 for a whole day bike rental and $ 5.50 (clipper card discount) ferry ride… I’d say that this is completely worth it. I plan to do this again soon, so look for my next review. Until then, my body needs to recover from the soreness of the 10 – 11 mile biking trip.

Excellent service and recommendations on where to bike and check out across the city. Rented a tandem and our bike actually broke down midway through but they brought us out a new one right away. Only had to wait 3o minutes and they gave us a discount! Highly recommended taking the fairy back from Sausalito

Prices are cheaper than the one right outside golden gate Park, so walked twenty steps and get a better deal!
Jeff is friendly, knowledgeable, guide us to the best route the cycle and the bicycles are great!

The perfect place to launch your Golden Gate bike adventure! The bikes are really nice and very comfortable to ride! Jeff the manager did an excellent job of helping my group of 5 get on the road and Bobby helped out a bunch in the process. Super nice staff! 5 Stars all the wayyyyy swing by this place!

A group of 4 of us rented bikes. We had a blast biking through Golden Gate Park, the Marina, and the other beaches. The day was unforgettable. Jeff made our bike rental experience easy and fast. Fantastic day and fantastic shop.

I rented bikes for my family while they visited. It was a great way to explore the city. There are many bike rental places to choose from but I personally recommend these guys because of the superb customer service. Bobby was very helpful. He exchanged bikes when we needed a better fit and even put a bell on my bike. He was also very patient with my dad who had some difficulty with biking. Thanks Bobby and team!

I needed a bike for an afternoon ride through Golden Gate park and along Ocean Beach. The shop is on Haight St. very close to Golden Gate park.
It was a holiday Monday and gorgeous weather so I wasn’t sure how many rental bikes they would have available. The first shop I tried around the corner was essentially out of bikes.
Not only did this shop have a great bike for me to rent, the process was quick & simple. Both associates in the shop were friendly and the rental fee was very affordable.

This place is small but at a great location. The prices are reasonable, and it is close to GGB Park.
The bikes all shifted smoothly and the brakes worked great! Best rental bikes I’ve ever rode! They throw in a complimentary lock and helmet for your ride, too.
Ask the person in charge if you’re new to the area; he’s a fountain of helpful tips and information. There are also a few great places nearby for a quick snack after you return.

My sister and I rented bikes from here last week while we were on vacation. Going through the online deal was a STEAL so we were pretty happy with the pricing for all day rentals.
We rented from the Haight St. location and biked across the golden gate, down to sausalito and then took the ferry down to the end of the marina. We considered dropping the bikes off at that location and cabbing home, but wanted to keep on biking so we started biking back to Haight st.
Halfway there we realized that the hills were getting the best of us, so it was taking a little longer than we anticipated. We called Jeff (who was working at Haight st. at the time) and he waited for us past close so that we could return the bikes at that location.
We were really happy with the service that we were provided with and would definitely recommend this to anyone!

My boyfriend and I made a reservation for a Sunday morning and showed up around 11:30 for pickup. Although they were pretty busy when we showed up, the man working did an outstanding job of giving every couple and family care and attention, making sure the bikes were appropriately adjusted, everyone had helmets, locks, and packs as needed, and all were familiar with their planned routes. My only complaint about getting set up is that they write down your credit card information rather than swipe the card to hold your account number for the day – that always makes me feel a little unsafe.
We rode through Golden Gate Park, through Presidio, and across the bridge to Sausilito. There were tons of bikers, but I never felt overwhelmed. We did stand in line for quite a while to ensure we would make it home on the ferry, but it was a beautiful day to stand and people watch so we were fine. The ferry ride back to the Wharf was a fun experience too, and their location for drop-​off was a short 5 minute bike ride.
We loved that the bikes didn’t have the company name and laminated directions emblazoned on them like some of the other bike companies so we didn’t stick out like tourists. Remember to book online for a small discount. Fantastic experience and I would recommend this company to anyone!

What a great rental experience! From beginning to end, we were met with friendly service, and bikes that exceeded our expectations and at a amazingly affordable cost. Attendant on duty was very friendly and helpful, gave us a map and quick tips on our route and what we can expect.
I don’t think I will ever return to SF without renting a bike now. It’s such a refreshing and different way to explore the city. And might I add we were moving much faster than the traffic along the main road which passes by all the piers.
Golden Gate Bridge area was FREEZING, and if you’re afraid of heights like my bf, do not look down, just keep on biking haha! Luckily pedestrians and bikers are separated since the lane on the bridge is pretty narrow. We went on a weekend though and there weren’t as many bikes as I expected! So that was good :)
We chose the Pier pick-​up and drop-​off which I liked because we got to walk around the weekend market and grab some food!
I will definitely use this rental place again, very happy with my experience considering it was chosen solely through internet browsing and these Unilocal reviews!

Convenient rental and return locations means I only had to walk a mile to go pick up my bike, and bike 4 blocks back from the Ferry to return it!
Excellent comfy bike and helmet, study lock — all for 22 bucks? Fantastic.
