Great cut for a price, I did a walk in and the lady was very nice and welcoming. The woman who cut my hair did exactly what I told her to do. I’ll probably be coming back here again.

After trying tons of places all over the city… this is the best place for little boy haircuts hands down.

I wanted to get my hair trimmed at a reasonable rate by someone who knows what they’re doing incredibly last minute(a pretty hefty request). I asked my sister if she knew of any places that could accommodate these needs in the city, and she immediately responded with«Great Cuts on Geary!» Now, don’t get this salon confused with the Great Cuts chain we’re all a little weary of. This is a family owned salon that is run by Savon, the sweetest gem of a lady! Savon has owned her business for twenty years, which I found out during our most enjoyable conversation while she cut my hair. Long story short, she is a wonderful hairstylist. She’s also all about the customer, which is so refreshing! I love this place, and I will be recommending it to friends!

Both Sovan and her daughter-in-law Helen are the BEST. Not only are they super-friendly and inexpensive – but their work is excellent(certainly as good as the $ 100 haircut I got on Union St. years ago!). My usual cutter is Sovan: she takes a lot of care with my straight, short hair. She spends twice as much time as Supercuts, the results are always better, and it COSTSLESS. Oh yes – I never make an appt., and I have never waited more than 15 minutes.

I love going here because I don’t have to worry who is cutting my hair. I don’t have to go through the awkward wait where I deny a hairdresser and wait for mine. Both Helen and Sovan are great at what they do and are very friendly. I come in about once every six weeks and they always remember how I want to cut my hair.

If you are looking for a basic hair cut, you will find it here. Great cuts isn’t going to give you that«hipster» hair cut. What Great Cuts will do is cut your hair well, quickly and for an excellent price! I have always been overly happy with the service and the conversation. If you find this hidden gem, you are one of the lucky ones!
It’s been a while since this place got a review. This is a no frills haircut spot that I’ve been coming to for years and years. Sovan has always done a wonderful job cutting my hair on a monthly-basis. She’s friendly and is very attentive. Helen is the other regular person that I see there and is super friendly and always smiling. She also does a great job. My current haircut is $ 17 w/o tip. I give her $ 20. You don’t need an appointment, but it’s always good to call to see how long the wait is. I was lucky today… no waiting!

For $ 16, you can get a great haircut from Helen. I always get great comments from everyone after I get a haircut here.

Been going here for a few years. Always a good, basic cut. Nothing fancy, but then again, that’s all I want in my haircuts. Sovan is great, and always makes sure everything looks good before she’s done.

Really good haircut place for super cheap rates. I have both of my kids hair cut here by Savan. She is fast and she really knows what she is doing. Highly recommended.

I don’t ask for much out of a haircut — decent, simple, fast, and cheap. Great Cuts has al that and more. They’re friendly and so far have done a fine job cutting my hear. I don’t know how they do on anything more ambitious than a trim but for that at least they’re pros. With all that for $ 15 I’ll keep coming back.

I’ve been here several times, and the results have wavered between satisfactory and terrible(once my hair went from 5 inches to 1 inch long after I asked to take half an inch off). Maybe they’re better with women’s hairstyles.

My hair style is definitely low maintenance and simple, so I didn’t want to spend, oh, more than $ 30 on a trim every other month. This place is way cheap($ 15 for a cut), but the stylist(Helen) did a good job and I think I look cute. What? I do. The place is clean and spacious, and probably saw an interior decorator in the 1970s. Considering my roommate spends about $ 70 to go to a chic salon in Japantown, I must thank Unilocal for guiding me to this no-frills establishment. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere — like the Trader Joe’s across the street. Yay! I’m going to go grill a salmon burger.

I think the interior of this place hasn’t changed since 1972. It made me nostalgic for the house I grew up in. Brown and yellow color scheme, linoleum, brown rattan hanging lamps. The brown chairs even had ashtrays in the arm rests! I just needed a wash and trim– I got a full 10 min head massage during my wash! The stylist/owner is very friendly and competent. If you just need a trim/clean up at a great price, ladies and gents, this is perfect for you. Cash only.
