This is a nice new public space – it serves several purposes: it’s a place for kids to shoot hoops, a space to have a cup of coffee from the nearby coffee shop, and it turns what was a fairly ugly bit of pavement into a nice little plaza. No, don’t let your toddlers wander without supervision. Yes, kids who have been raised in the city(and know about streets) will be just fine.

The location of this«park» is questionable. This is an extremely busy street and definitely NOT kid friendly. I think the idea of using local, sustainable materials is great, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable allowing children to play here even with supervision. On more than one occasion children have been seen wandering onto Guerrero Street, while their parents stand near by paying them no attention. Great idea, bad location.

Definitely NOT a park but I will concede it’s a very nice plaza. You want to come out enjoy the day, have lunch, hangout and chitchat this is the place(please throw away your trash in the provided receptacles). You might want walk here cause there’s really no place to park even for us that live here, were ½ block from St. Lukes so parking is a disaster. This definitely is not the place you want to bring your kids to with the freedom to run where ever they want. It’s enclosed on both sides with working streets(cars still come through this area) For those looking for a park for their children to play at there’s Upper Noe Rec. Center/Day Park not even 5 minutes away. Newly remodeled, this is the park in the neighborhood to go to.

This is part of the new public space project the city created. They have vowed to create public spaces out of unused areas of the city(like small pieces of pavement). Renewable resources, recycled materials and native and/or water conserving plants. Makes an otherwise busy intersection more pleasant. This one has a basketball hoop. Check it out!
