I found Dr. Gutierrez to be very knowledgeable, thoughtful and careful. He took care of my skier’s thumb injury without me needing surgery and I have been very happy with the results. Highly recommended.

I thought I sprained my thumb but it was actually a torn ligament. He is super nice, great at explaining to me what is wrong. Drew it out, X-​rays, cast, and a real delightful man. I highly recommend him before he retires!

Dr. Gutierrez was recommended to me as «The Best in his field in San Francisco». I went to see him for carpal tunnel release surgery. What a great, gentle experience! From the initial visits, at which he explained in detail what exactly it was that caused carpal tunnel syndrome, to the surgery itself, and the treatments thereafter: I can only say «BRAVO». I am so glad he was recommended to me.

I saw Dr. Gutierrez today for my sore wrist. He sent me to x-​rays and within 10 minutes I had print outs of my bones and he was interpreting what was going on.
Turned out I need a shot of cortisone directly in the wrist. He pulled out a medical book with illustrations and showed me exactly what’s going on.
Now, I HATE needles. But he was cool, calm and collected and I didn’t even feel the injection. He used a special technique that made the whole experience painless. Within 5 minutes it was all over and my wrist felt better. Now two days later and the pain is gone.
Hurting your hand is like hurting your back: once you do it you can’t live, work or just be right or without pain. Dr. Gutierrez is a great doctor! I want to say I’ll be back but if he did his job right I guess I won’t.

This doctor is in major need of better bedside manner. He is neither compassionate or sympathetic to his patients in PAIN.
If you are having a bad day you needn’t take it out on your patients. He is seriously PATRONIZING and thinks his word is gold. HE IS THE REASON WHY PEOPLE SEEK SECOND OPINIONS!!!
