By far, the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever had. First of all, the chairs are so worn, the neck pillow area is nearly flat to the chair. Okay– I can deal with that. However, these chairs don’t have traditional pedicure bowls. Instead, they have plastic buckets(seriously) that they fill with water from the tap — aka FREEZINGCOLD. They are on a stand that’s on wheels that has a small padded bar for you to prop your feet on while they get painted. Now. When I say on wheels, that means you must hold your legs in a bent position or else the cart/bar whatever-the-hell it is pushes away from you and your feet are left dangling. Maybe that’s why they don’t let you soak, and they pumice your feet DRY. No lotion, no scrub. Nada. The pedicurist couldn’t keep track of what she was doing so she did one coat of polish on some nails and 3 on others. She managed to get the polish EVERYWHERE. My feet don’t look any better than they did going in AND they now have smeared pink polish all over my skin. For my gel manicure, again, no soak, dry cuticle trimming and a cluster fluck with the polish. She cut my nails down so short that I am in pain now. She too(different woman than the lady giving the pedi) managed to get black smeared all over my hands too! Not to mention — one manicurist had her SCREAMING baby in the salon the entire time. All in all, this was the worst salon experience I have ever had and would encourage you to go anywhere but here as it was not only not pleasant, but it was in fact miserable.

Don’t get waxed here. They are not very skilled and it was more painful than usual. Even manicurist almost hurt my cuticle.

I was a walk in and I only had to wait a few minutes. I got a gel manicure for $ 30 and it was done precisely and evenly! My nails look great and I feel relaxed after the complementary massage!

Seriously this place is most unpleasant nail salon in SF. First of all, they continually kept taking clients when they clearly could not provide satisfying service to nearly half of them. What’s worse than having a nail salon say they can take you, but it ends up taking 2.5 hours after all said and done. I waited for so long the water for my pedicure and manicure was freezing cold by the time they even started to work on me. I watched them several times takes clients and half of them were not satisfied due to the lack of service because there were so many people waiting. They did a half ass job on my gel, did not let it dry long enough so it chipped within an hour. I told the lady the color on my toes was not what I expected and wanted to change it. She looked at me, and said no. The manager is a man that walks around ordering the girls from client to client. Not one person in the salon spoke good enough English to communicate effectively and due to this they even charged me twice! Gets better, they chased me down the street saying I never paid! 2.5 hours later and $ 100 gone, it’s safe to say I had the worst nail experience yet.

Hand touch is a solid place to get your nails done. It’s great that you can pay $ 25 for a mani/pedi that lasts! The gels also last a couple weeks and look great until you take them off. A couple other plusses — you get to sit in the comfy pedi chairs while getting your manicure. AND before putting on your polish, you’re guaranteed a massage! What more could you ask for!

I went in to have gel nail polish removed. The man who did it was rough and forceful, even after I asked him to be more gentle. He left my nails cracked, damaged, and they are actually sore today, the day after. I don’t get gel manicures often, so I wasn’t sure if this is normal — after doing some research, it’s definitely not. I’m getting married next week, so I’m hoping the damage isn’t too extensive. I came here after picking up my wedding dress as it was just across the street, but I’ll never be coming back again.

Came in here on a whim because I needed a manicure, had time to kill before work and it’s right next door to where I work. Wasn’t crazy about their selection of gel colors, so I just picked a basic pink. The girl did a quick job and told me after my nails she would start my neck massage. What? No thanks. I was in and out in half an hour… Which would be great if my manicure lasted more than 5 days. It’s peeling from the top and the bottom on several nails, so I write this review as I peel the rest of it off with ease. Too bad, especially since they charge more than my normal spot in the Richmond and when I go their my nails last 3 – 4 weeks. Also, some of the girls I work with told me they charge $ 10 extra for that neck massage. Was she even gonna tell me that? Or just give me the massage and charge me anyway? I’m glad I declined. 30 dollars plus a 6 dollar tip was way too much for a manicure that lasted 5 days, let alone 10 dollars more for a neck massage I didn’t ask for. Never again.

Best bang for your buck! Mani/pedi and a shoulder massage for $ 25 — awesome. Everyone in the Marina has learned about this spot, so it’s typically quite busy! Knocking one star off because they tend to rush you during prime time. Also, tips are cash only, which can be annoying for those who never carry cash :)

its quick but the nails work they do is decent and it’s about the MASSAGE! They make sure to do your neck and shoulders as part of the mani. Lots of colors to choose from and clean.

The massage was the best part. Everything else was sub par. I asked for a French acrylic manicure when I walked in the door and the woman I was seated with started giving me a regular Mani… Miscommunication between coworkers perhaps. OK. One of the acrylics was SO crooked and when I asked for it to be reapplied, the nail tech insisted she would file it straight. I had to continually point out that it was still crooked. When it came time for the tips to be painted on, I suspect the nail tech was rushing because several women were waiting to be seated at that point and they needed me to leave. The tips do not extend fully to either side of my nail! I was seated in a massage chair the whole time. There are no tables. The nail tech was to my right side, so I had to rotate my whole torso awkwardly every time she worked on my left hand. For drying, they perched a powerless fan on top of a pillow on my lap. This was not ergonomic or a natural angle at all, so in passing my hands in front of the fan of course I hit the top of my thumb. When I asked them to smooth out the chip, they were clearly mad and told me to be more careful. She quickly covered the chip with clear polish but didn’t actually fix it… They moved me to a counter in the front with more powerful drying fans. Why not direct me there in the first place? $ 45 wasted

This place is solid. I am knocking off a star due to the general environment of the salon(scuffed walls, plastic-lined bins for pedicure water, etc.) but their work is wonderful(and I’m very picky). The mini-shoulder massage included in the pedi is a great plus as well. As for pricing, pretty reasonable. I got a gel mani and standard pedi for $ 53 plus tip.

I was super late for an appointment, but they still managed to squeeze me in on a busy Thursday night. Awesome color selection, reasonable price and I got a neck/back massage thrown in free of charge! It was ideal. Will come back here if in need of a mani/pedi in the Marina.

I have been a loyal customer to Hand Touch for 6+ years but have had my final straw. While this is your standard budget mani/pedi spot, prices have been raised across the board, wait times get out of control and grossly misquoted, and service quality is far from consistent. Annoyingly, tips are no longer allowed to be added on a credit card(cash only). So they shoo you off to their expensive ATM or you have to trudge down the street and return. I had a horrible experience where gel was applied and did not adhere smoothly so they attempted to just scrape it all off with a file. Only after I insisted on using the proper acetone remover(and nix the whole process since I was way over the quoted time) did they oblige and then send me on my way — paying full price with gouged up and unpainted nails. Certain nail techs are so sweet and impeccably thorough which pains me to write negatively… But I’ll be taking my routine business elsewhere.

Still one of my favorite cheap nail spots in SF! Friendly service and great quality — plus the massages are top notch. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good deal

I absolutely love coming to hand touch after a long shift at work. The ladies there are very welcoming and friendly. I get sat down and they start my nails right away. I usually come in with my friend and they do our nails at the same time. We enjoy their company and their service. I appreciate how good of a job they do. With such relaxing massages and the pedi/mani is great. Phoung did such a great job on my nails. The lady owner always does a great job as well. Always will be coming back.

Excellent service every time! Paying the extra $ 10 for a hand or neck massage is well worth it! Always easy to get in as well.

Came here for a polish change after I was disappointed with my previous color choice. No biggie, should be quick. And it was! That is really the only good thing I can say about my experience here, is that I was in and out fast. Had a gel manicure done, $ 20+ tip. The lady who helped me worked quickly, and it felt like it was heading in a good direction, until I left and noticed little bumps and bubbles under the polish. Ok, not super noticeable, I just need this to last because it’s expensive to get re-done. It’s been 4 days, and the polish is lifting and peeling off. Really? Did she even try to seal the ends? I will not be going here again!

I came here with my friend to get gel nails. I’ve had much better. First of all, I had on regular nail polish, and they didn’t even remove it completely. Second, they didn’t have the color that my friend wanted, even though they advertised it on their colors. Third, the application of the nail polish wasn’t smooth at all, leaving my nails lumpy. Fourth, only two coats with a top coat were applied… Fifth, it’s only been three days, and my nails are already chipping. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. $ 30 plus tip each? Never again for the service I got.

Hand Touch has moved across the street since I first started going there, so ignore my original comment about an upstairs area. Also it seems to me that they’re no longer terribly pushy about upgrading you to a longer massage. This continues to be my fave place in SF. Regular mani/pedi price is now $ 25, and for a gel mani, regular pedi it comes to $ 45. Many of the technicians are the same as 6 years ago when I started going to Hand Touch, and they always greet me warmly, which is nice. Once in a while I stray but you can’t beat the price, the service, and the quality of the work.

Used to be my monthly mani-pedi place but they moved a little further away from me and knocked their prices up from $ 20 to $ 25! + they have nice new chairs and more upscale feel to the place + they are super fast and can get you in and out in 30 minutes + 10 minute shoulder massage comes with the mani-pedi I just wish they mark up prices by 25% because you can get a mani-pedi a block away on chestnut for $ 18-$ 20!
