Hats of the Fillmore

Awesome hat shop. You’d be hard pressed to walk out empty handed. They have everything from beanies to top hats here. So much fun trying everything on. Plenty of mirrors in each corner. It’s also refreshing to be able to browse/​try on hats without being hounded or eyed suspiciously by the salesperson. On my most recent visit I purchased a really fun Goorin Bros. baseball cap. I’ll be back in a few months for a new winter hat! Love this place

I’ve bought 4 hats already and alternate wearing them throughout the week (or according to what I’m wearing that day to match).
The service is great and the selection is always changing.

I’m not an avid Unilocaler, but this is worth writing and reading!!! Although I almost didn’t write this because I love my little secret stash of unique and beautiful finds at Hats of The Fillmore! I always find something awesome there. And I never leave with just one!
She carries several styles and brands of hats. I’m positive she’s got something for everyone (men and women) in her selections. And she carries Goorins too! My personal favourites are the Grace hats. This line has proven to impress me with it’s quality and variety. You won’t find stacks and stacks of the same hats here. That’s what I love about this place there is always something different. She’s busy too, so if you see something you like better grab it cause you can bet it won’t be there when you come back!
The service at Hats of The Fillmore is unlike any place I’ve ever shopped before. I’ve been going there for a couple of years now and from day one Anna, the owner, has been a total sweetheart. She always knows exactly what I’ll like and what will look good on me. And she frequently offers a discount of some sort. I stopped by to check out what was new one day before taking an extended trip to Canada. I told Anna I was going to take care of my Mum for 6 weeks and she gave me a hat to keep me warm while I was up north. And that wasn’t the first time she gifted me one of her beautiful gems. Granted I do buy a lot of hats over there and I love every one of them. People are always complimenting me and commenting that they haven’t seen a lot of hats like this before.
Ok I know I’m kind of gushing a little bit about hats but I just wanted to spread the word! I’m telling you, whether it’s a fancy schmancy one or one for every day or you just want something different Anna at Hats of The Fillmore is your go to girl! Trust me when I say… you will not be disappointed!
Street parking is usually not too bad and there are some good eats close by too.

Now… I haven’t been in to many hat shops, but Hats on Fillmore is pretty impressive. Great selection (dressy to casual and everything in between), good prices and friendly service. They also have a nice selection of scarves… perfect for SF weather.
Overall…if you’re in the lines for a new hat, this place is for you!

Great store! The owner there was extreamly nice and made me feel comfortable buying a hat from there. I liked the lack of snobby attitude that you would get from other stores which is exactly why I shopped ad bought from Hats on Fillmore and not the other places. I liked the fact that you could try them on and get friendly advice so you dont walk out looking like a fool. I liked the choices so much I bought two because I couldnt decide! I will go back there and will and do reccommend this place. The price is right to and the quality is right on the money, SO GO BUY YOUR DAMN HAT! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!

The owner was very friendly and helpful to find some hats matching my face and style. I highly recommend this well-​organized and stylish place with a classic flair for its great selection of quality hats!

This is the store if you’re looking for a hat but are not quite sure what to get. From beanies to fedoras, they’ve got ‘em all. The selection is great, and the lovely owner is gracious enough to let you try hats on at your leisure.
I think this store singlehandedly made me realize that I am brand-​loyal to Goorins. While I did find some nice looking hats, including a few straw fedoras, the quality of Goorin is unsurpassed and the price point is just right. Here, some of them were on the sales floor and others were behind the counter or in the glass counter case. I felt bad enough being the only one in the store, trying on different types of hats for a good 15 – 20 minutes and getting ready to leave empty handed. So rather than waste her time by asking her to field hats off to me to try on with the high possibility of not purchasing one, I figured it best to just go to one of the larger Goorin locations instead, which have all their hats laid out. Still, I don’t fault her for keeping higher priced items behind the counter at all, especially in this area. I think you’d be crazy not to.
It’s easy to pass by on the street; the storefront blends in with surrounding stores. But whether you’re looking to purchase something stylish and functional to top your noggin or just want to play hat dressup for the afternoon, it’s a worthy visit.

Oh, my heaven. They don’t call me TK Two-​Hats for nothing. I am a hat-​fan, for sure. I have an entire set of shelves dedicated just to hats.
Hats of the Fillmore is simultaneously one of the best & the worst things to ever happen to me. My hats thank me, but my pocketbook scoffs at me.
Their selection is great & I sincerely appreciate the distinct lack of novelty hats. I am not a huge fan of sifting through where’s Waldo crush velvet theme-​park hats while trying to find something fashionable.

I like this store. I visit it once a year to add new hats and beanies. The owner is very friendly and takes her time with her customers. For the past two years I have visited, she gave me and extra hat each time.
Now in my book free stuff is a great way to retain customers. I will go regardless but the free yearly hats are a plus!
By the way, I have a huge head… 7(5/8) and she has my size so don’t be afraid to pay her a visit even if your head is bigger than mine.

A great hat spot! I took my father-​in-​law who is a big hat guy. We both got hats. Within a week i found a tear in the inside of my hat. I took it back and she offered me a new hat. I had grown attached to the hat in the one time I wore it. She had it fixed promptly (about a day) at no cost.

THIS is GREAATTTER than Ms. Dewson’s hat store on Fillmore/​California because the store carries women’s hats on one side, men’s hats on the other side and you can actually TRY the hats on without getting some snide and rude comment from that witch… WITCH MS. Dewson… I actually heard her tell someone on 4^th of July on Fillmore… Do you KNOW who I am? I am MS. DEWSON… what the fug??? The man appropriately ignored her and laughed with his gf, because you know that big black lady is out of her mind…
Get your hats here if you want to save on emotional grief and a thicker wallet… The Korean lady was nice about saying «Yeah, try all the hats… we have good prices…»

In my on-​going quest to locate a hat that is even cooler than my friend’s badass hat, I stopped by here among many other stores.
Excellent selection and the owner is a sweetheart. A lot of Goorin hats and some others too. Good understanding of the hats and she offered a whole bunch to try on.
We weren’t able to find exactly what I was looking for but I’ll definitely come back in the future.

I have the biggest hat fetish and this store is great! They have all kinds of hats, AND they carry my favorite brand Goorin! The people who own the store are very friendly and nice, and know their merchandise very well. They also carry cute scarves and great hats for guys. It’s right by my house so when I get the urge to get a new hat, I can just walk there!

Great little hat shop, especially for men. We went to find a hat for my fiancé. They have a nice selection, the person helping us was very friendly but not overly sales-​y. We purchased a hat for about $ 40 (a little on the high end for my taste, but the fiancé didn’t seem to mind.) Greatest thing is they have a frequent purchaser card — buy 5 hats get 1 free. Pretty nice if you’re a hat guy!
i would have liked to see a larger selection of hats for women, but I like many other ladies was just perusing.

Just got a sweet short brimmed fedora at Hats of Fillmore. Anna and Skorpio were super friendly and helpful in suggesting hats that I might like (told them I wanted something I could wear with a t-​shirt or to the club). They’ve got all sorts of styles and colors so if you’re looking for a nice hat, I’d suggest looking here first.

Love this hat store! An impressive array of hats, all of them quite durable, contemporary, and classy. Awesome selection of both men’s and women’s hats and caps. A good mixture of urbane styles, as well as occasion-​specific and casual hats and caps.
I appreciate that the selection is tasteful: the hats here will outlast any fashion season, in terms of character, material, and cut. Also, lots of good name brands. The hats here felt like they enhanced me: brought out a facet of me that was smooth, refined, expressive and powerful. :) I’ve tried on hats in other stores and it’s more like you’re putting on a mask: the hats there try to dictate your character, instead of the other way around.
Most of the hats I tried came in multiple sizes, so you can rock the look that looks best on your crown. There were many, many hats I wanted to walk out with. I ended up getting a black woven fedora with a beautiful tilted brim. Complements just about everything in my wardrobe and I’m getting lots of complements on it!
The sales woman is incredibly attentive and helpful, with zero pressure to buy anything. The place feels good and it’s part of the Fillmore stretch that’s become a revitalized jazz heritage cultural district, with the new Yoshi’s nearby. It feels good to support this place. I’ll definitely be stopping by every time I’m in the area!

This place is fantastic. They carry all kind of hats. Fedoras, newsboy style, small brim and large brim hats, beanies. My favorite hats are the one of a kind lookin’ hats made by Grace hats, which always have a special fashion accessory on them like a bow, buckle, or button. Super cute. The owners are super nice, and they even let me haggle with them like we’re in the middle of the Turkish Bazaar. Sa olun!!!

the wrong hat, which happens quite often, will make my head look huge. my oval shape is pronounced, and my jaw rivals most apes.
hats of the fillmore was very forgiving of my big noggin and reassured me that accessorizing was possible.
good selection, though, i’d like to see more edgy/​weird hats in the near future. — - less newsboy hats and regular baseball caps. more asymmetrical designs. different textures. bold colors.
