My boyfriend and I are hot sauce fanatics so we couldn’t resist coming in here. They have a lot of samples for you to try as well. We loved all the ones we tried! My mouth is watering at all the options they have. There are a lot of unique flavors, different levels of spiciness, sauces, ones you only put a little bit of, and also a super hot one that you have to sign a waiver to get! Next time I come I really want to buy something!

«Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog It’s a brand new day Whatcha waiting for? Get up, stretch out, stomp on the floor Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog We’re splitting the scene We’re full of beans» HOT dog I was I excited when strolling through the pier and finding this little treasure chest of hot sauce heaven. I sure did do a happy dance. I was like a kid in a candy shop! If you know me you’d know I love my spice. I search high and low for a hot sauce I can feel a kick to(besides our home grown, home made crushed chili). Of course I go in there wide eyed with a big smile, snapping pictures of everything I want to remember! There was an array of items from hot sauce, to jelly/jam, candies, chips, and drinks that were… SPICY! Yahhh. Spicy candies, spicy beverages, spicy chips spicy jams for my spicy pent butter sandwiches. Spicy pickles! Oh my just looking around got me «Hot, hot, hot!» The ladies there were über helpful! She answered all my questions about the different products as well as had me sample some of the sauces I wanted before I purchased it! I met my match with the Mad Dog 360, the only hot sauce that made me tear up a bit. I also got the Black Widow which was just a notch down but flavorful. There spicy watermelon drinks were refreshing and reminded me of those little fruit stands in LA with the chilis in a bag. Yummy! I got some spicy Jerk sauce to make wangs and home(Bomb!) To top it off with a purchase of 15 $ or more I was able to get one of their store brand green sauce for just $ 0.01! Fortunately I don’t have to come back to SF to restock as I had originally thought as they have a location not far from my apt. at the time AND I can order online if I’m to busy grubbin’ to go buy more(^_^) If you love spice definitely check this place out or their website. You won’t be disappointed(^_^)

Well, these ladies worked hard for a simple $ 9.99 sale! We tasted all kinds of hot sauces and we discovered… we’re really really picky! We looked around and asked about quite a few different types, styles and flavors. We settled on Haba Haba. I’ve used it in grilled chicken already and it’s flavor doesn’t really scream through like I would like it to. I added some Dill Mustard from IKEA and it amped up the flavor to perfection. So, happy with our purchase, but probably will stick with our favorite Mexican grocery store for our El Yucatec Habanero(which Hot Licks carries for $ 9.99) and Chipotle for a couple of dollars each.

The staff here were super friendly and helpful. Helped to find that perfect sauce. Had fun trying different samples and looking at all the merchandise. Prices on some stuff seemed like a great deal. Ended up buying a great sauce.

This wasn’t my first time here but it was my last. An associate was helping me pick out sauces and then she said I could sample one that was trying to decide on. She asked me to go to the sample counter while she rang up one guest so I did. Then after ringing up the third guest in line she proceeded to walk upstairs leaving me still waiting. I put down the $ 40 worth of sauces I was going to buy and walked out.

So if you only need to know one thing about me, it’s that I love spicy food(the hotter the better), and can/will/have put hot sauce on everything. This place was HEAVEN for me! The kind woman asked me if I needed help and I told her I have the burn-off-your-tongue sauces at home and desired something with more flavor but with a decent amount of heat. And just like that, I walk out with Marie Sharp’s and was introduced to the«Ring of Fire» series. Boom. Plus, they have hot pepper gear/collectibles, as well as spicy novelty foods. This is EVERY pepper monster’s dream!

If there is a shop dedicated to all things spicy, I will always find it! Very neat find towards the back of the second floor at Pier 39. Love the Tabasco spicy chocolate(a cheaper version of a similar chocolate made by Taza) as well as the Habanero Red Pepper Jelly. I have yet to try the Habanero popcorn, but I would be very surprised if that did not turn out well. I do like Pepper Palace better in Fisherman’s Wharf for their sauces, but Hot Licks has more specialty items that are unique and fun.

I’m a hot sauce fanatic so I knew I needed to stop in and check out what was on tap here. They organize the hot sauces by spiciness, which is a great touch. The cashier was helpful and talkative and helped me pick out the perfect hot sauces for me and my honey, who is even more obsessed with the spicy stuff! The prices are high, just like any shop at Fisherman’s Wharf, but if you want a flavorful sauce try Dr. Ass Burns Jalapeño sauce. You will not be disappointed!

I’m surprised that no one reviewed this place yet. Probably because it’s hidden on the top deck on the pier where nobody can see it. If you love all things hot and spicy, then this place is heaven for you. My bf and I were actually fortunate to stumble upon this place when we were looking for the bathroom. My bf crapped his pants when he saw this store and he had to come here. Ask for help. I recommend it because they are very knowledgeable about the hundred bottles of sauce they have. They actually let you try some which is awesome. I liked that they gave us a toothpick of sauce to try out first to see if we can handle it. If they deem you worthy, you will get a spoonful. Some of their products, you have to sign a waiver in order to buy it. Scary but cool. I got a bag a Dave’s medium cheddar chips and holy crap were they hot. Be careful with their stuff! They’re not messing around! Prices here are very decent. My bf walked away happily with his 2 bottles. I’m sure he would have bought a crate with us if we weren’t flying. He loved it so much that he wouldn’t let the TSA confiscate them at the airport. It’s that good.
