edit: 2.5 stars, he came back and added a handrail that the inspector wanted. Free labor on that, I paid extra for the wood. in general, i would like to like this guy, as he seems like a good guy, but I can’t in good conscience recommend someone who bait and switched me like that.

We all know how contractors can be. But not Dennis, Marcus and crew. They are honest, on time, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. We have used them for various jobs over the years and are never disappointed. They are the best.

Dennis is always on time, very knowledgeable, nice person and very efficient in his job. We used him twice and very happy with the results. He is more expensive than other people but the results are high quality and very likely long lasting. Reccommended.

Ideal Carpentry replaced rotted wood around our house.
We had a lot of trouble finding someone to do the job — one contractor didn’t show up for the estimate, one never provided an estimate, one was too busy to do the work, one didn’t have insurance, two had ridiculous prices.
Ideal Carpentry arrived on time, provided a reasonable estimate and shortly after did the work. They were professional, high quality, had a great work ethic and were honest and reasonable.

–Two new outside doors. One replacement DR window. New LR window where a blank wall existed.
–On time, every time, no excuses, no tardiness, no cancellations or postponements.
–Professional expertise in every aspect.
–Took his own initiative to replicate the trim on the new window to match the rest of the
window trim in this 85 year old house’s living room. Just outstanding detail.
–Beautiful job throughout.
–They left the jobs and site in immaculate condition, cleaning up and even
vacuuming where necessary.
–I will have him back soon to a install and electrical sub-​circuit breaker.
–His prices are very reasonable considering the top quality of work and even
came in lower than what I thought it would cost.
–Why pay for shoddy work from people who pass themselves off as something
they really are not, when you can get the best from the experts.
–Ideal Carpentry can be more aptly described as artisan craftsmen, their attention
to detail is extraordinary.

I have worked with Dennis Tupper in both Commercial and residential scenarios. I can tell you he is thorough, professional, efficient and incredibly honest. From the biggest to the smallest jobs I have found him to be diligent and conscientious. You would be making a huge mistake to use anyone else. In a field where honest, hardworking contractors are hard to find this a company you will want to keep forever.

These guys are complete hacks. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM. They destroyed my office expresso machine with their shoddy work and refused to take responsibility for it. I highly recommend you find someone else to work with.

Very professional outfit with a quick response on the phone and friendly people and staff on site. I had a small job, replacement of a deck rail that had succumbed to dry rot. Dennis and crew were onsite on the designated day a bit later than expected and got the job done quickly and efficiently cleaning up everything they brought in. Great work. I recommend you phone them and avoid email except for invoice requests and paperwork after you’ve spoken with them. I will call next time I need a carpenter for any size job.

Marcus and Dennis recently completely rebuilt a huge deck on the back of my House. The deck is 15′ X 30′ and about 12′ feet off the ground. They had the old dry rotted deck torn down and replaced in 3 days. They even worked in the rain on day 3 to finish it up. I had 6 estimates and they came in $ 2,500 cheaper than the next closest. I was lucky to Find these guys!

Marcus & Dennis recently remodeled our only bathroom. With competitive rates (their bid was in-​line with the the two others we got), EXCELLENT communication (I dealt mostly with Marcus, who was available 24 – 7 by phone/​email/​text), they did an excellent job. The entire job was finished in two days, and they left us a working toilet during that time. I would recommend Ideal Carpentry without hesitation!
