Divorces are stressful no matter how amicable the process between the parties. So picking an attorney/​firm that you trust is going to get the job done is super important. When I met my attorney Evie Jeang, I got a good feeling from her. A few bumps and delays came up later in the process but I still give the firm a 3 (3.5 really) because they managed to make me feel taken care of by always getting back to me quickly and staying courteous when my ex and I disputed some of the extra costs associated with what we perceived as the firm’s mistakes.
There was definitely a communication breakdown within the firm because I handed many detailed documents to Evie to help draft our divorce settlement — everything she asked for basically– but these documents were apparently not relayed in full to her paralegal Jen or others who contacted me from the firm.
There was much back/​forth with questions the answers to which I had already provided in the first meeting. Their emails were also at times confusing due to communication errors in quick back and forth emails that sometimes didn’t make much sense grammatically. But I appreciated the quick response even if sometimes I had to ask them to clarify what the email meant.
Jen Villavicencio was absolutely delightful– always sweet and patient in her communication with me. Evie herself was nice too. All this mattered to me big time since like I said, the whole process was taxing enough emotionally and psychologically so I appreciate that they made it easier for me. Definitely recommend them.
