I don’t know how this place has almost 5 stars. It was an extremely meh and mediocre experience. My massage was not very good. It was a very average massage, with barely any pressure, and the room was cold which felt uncomfortable. I got a longer massage to try to treat myself and it seemed the massage therapist didn’t know how fill all of the time and massaged just my left arm for a super long time at the end of the massage.
I chose this place based on the high reviews and the more affordable price but I should have just paid more and gone to a really good massage therapist or an actual spa. I save 4 and 5 stars for very good and excellent experiences that I would recommend to others and return to and I don’t recommend this place and wouldn’t return. I regret spending money and time here.

For a recent birthday, I was fortunate enough to have been gifted the very generous present of a custom facial at In-​Symmetry. I’d been looking forward to my appointment and had been optimistic going in, but I could not have imagined the kind of paradise that awaited me in the hands of their esthetician, Tuesday. I honestly didn’t know if I’d even be able to write a review afterward because, coming back from this wonderful experience, I was soooo relaxed that I imagined myself just living the rest of my life being waited on hand and foot while I just sat on my butt. Ahhhhh! But, now forced back to reality, I do not want to waste another minute without sending Tuesday and In-​Symmetry a big thank you. Tuesday is, hands down, THE most wonderful esthetician EVER — my appointment was like a heavenly, magical experience. She thought of everything — including making sure to inquire as to whether I had allergies or not (yes, I’m allergic to lavender). In-​Symmetry uses organic, locally-​sourced products and I was even told that some of them were edible (like the wonderful honey she used around my lip area, which was like getting a dessert with your facial!). What a lovely surprise. It was, yes, just heavenly. And one thing I especially appreciated in Tuesday is that the music she had on was both soothing *and* poignant and soulful, with much more depth and intelligence than the tinkling namby-​pamby music some places would have you ‘relax’ to. She’s unforgettable, just one of those special souls that you will always remember. It was just lovely and highly recommended. You can’t go wrong booking a facial with Tuesday at In-​Symmetry! Thank you so much!

I got a Spafinder gift card for Christmas and finally had the bandwidth to look for a local business to use it.
I had never been here, although I have been meaning to, and was able to book an online appointment within a couple days.
The space is cute, and the women who signed me in and out were friendly & helpful.
My massage therapist Aurora was super friendly and asked lots of great questions before we began, to confirm my health history & all my aches & pains.
It was a lovely pleasant experience with time to chat and time to bliss out.
The pressure was perfect, the hot stones are awesome, and I felt very peaceful & cared for when she finished, from head to toe.
I was so charmed that I got a monthly membership, in hopes that my wife & I can put some more self care in our lives.
I feel very lucky to have this business in my hood. It’s so nice to walk home from something so lovely, without having to get in my car & instantly have SF traffic ruin my blissed out state.

I’ve been here multiple times and everyone is great. Last night I had a massage with Jenny and she really was awesome. She knows how to use the stones and make sure they aren’t scalding hot when they touch your skin. Also I like deep pressure and she was able to do that.

I’ve been coming to In-​Symmetry for massage for about two years now. I have a monthly membership, and I sometimes go to get a massage more than once a month. The massage therapists are generally good (some are better than others), and I have been typically satisfied with the service. But recently, unfortunately, I had a really unpleasant experience with the front desk, which has put the business into a new, less pleasant light. I came in around Valentine’s Day, and saw an ad about a 20% discount for members that week. I inquired about the promotion at the front desk person called Daniela, and booked another massage appointment for that week.
Later it turned out that the promotion cannot be applied in membership massages, but gift cards only — I wonder why I wasn’t told this when I inquired about the promotion in the first place. When I was sorting out this confusion, I was asked if I want to purchase a gift card, and get the 20% off from the card. I said yes. Then on Feb 20^th I received a question from the front desk by email if I want to apply my existing credit to the gift card purchase. I was traveling, and it took me about a week to reply to that email.
Today I received a call from Daniela at the front desk, and she said that the promotion was only valid around Valentine’s day and can’t be applied anymore. That was odd because in the previous emails, way after Valentine’s day, I hadn’t been told that the offer would have been expired. Daniela was really impolite and interrupted me when I explained this, so finally I asked to talk to the manager. She said the manager will say the same thing as her, and there’s no use to talk to the manager, and that the manager is out right then. Then she said she can talk with the manager right away, and that she’ll get back to me.
I had an appointment booked for today, and when I arrived, Daniela told that the gift card with 20% can be issued for me. I thanked for that, and asked about the confusion, and referred to the email chain were the issue had been discussed, assuming that she’d apologize for the confusion and for her rude behavior. She didn’t.
I find this very unprofessional and immature behavior — she even lied about the manager being unavailable. That is unacceptable. I hope In-​Symmetry will improve their training for their front desk staff — it’s unbearable that the customers need to waste their time with unprofessional staff. After all, I just want to come and get a good massage — don’t deal with confused and rude staffers.

Update to this review: I’ve talked with the business owner and the manager. They apologized, and told me that they will improve the training for the front desk staffers. In this communication, it also turned out that the terms and conditions for the membership hadn’t been properly communicated to me when I signed up (about the use of roll-​over massages), nor is the information on the website. The owner said that they will improve their communication about this matter to the customers. I’m happy that the owners took prompt action to clear this bad experience out, and improve their systems and services. I feel that the owners take the feedback seriously. That’s important, because it has taken now hours of my time to sort this all out.

I had a deep tissue hot stone massage from Amy and loved it. She was very gentle and was sensitive to my pressure requests and comfort.
Professional, quiet, and clean and would definitely go back. On the weekends, parking is not a problem.

My mom and I both had wonderful experiences here. Definitely recommend for a massage or facial!
Tuesday was a helpful and sweet esthetician, very gentle and friendly. My facial was customized for my skin and face.

Average massage because we didn’t walk out feeling amazing due to either lack of pressure or techniques we are not used to.
We were 15 minutes late to our appointment and the moment I walked in one of the therapist quickly guided me to the room. We signed up for the hot stone massage but I never got the hot stone portion (not sure if it’s because we were late). My therapist focus a lot on my shoulder and worked several of my knots. His technique was more «gliding» than «pressing». The technique didn’t really work my legs at all. I did feel tenderness the next day on my shoulder and obliques.
As for my girlfriend, she did have the hot stone portion of the massage, and her therapist did try to make up as much time. (I think my therapist had another client right after me…) However, her therapist also did more «gliding» than «pressure» on her.
Service was definitely very friendly but I felt like each therapist was booked with back-​to-​back appointments with no gaps in-​between, which didn’t tolerate any tardiness. Even thought my massage was only 45 minutes, I was still charged for the full-​hour service.
In summary, friendly service but the massage lacked pressure or technique to work every part of the body. Also, don’t be late to the schedule appointment because they will still charge for the full appointment regardless of the actual service duration.

Holy cow, Tuesday is a goddess. I’m rebooking soon and ordered a wonderful mask from them.

I tried a deep tissue massage here through MassageNow. The place is very clean, professional and friendly. They offer you tea or water when you arrive. Parking was easy too.
I loved the masseur who gave me deep tissue massage for an hour. My back had intense issues with muscles getting really tough to loosen up. But he was able to use his fingers to break out those lumps that were problematic. He didn’t use his elbows or anything like that which I appreciated. Deep tissues can be very painful but he kept checking with me if the pressure was fine. He gave me some advice afterwards to help with my chronic pain.
I would go there again!

It’s been 2 days since my 90 minute hot stone deep tissue massage and my back feels AMAZING.
5 stars for Ereene! I’m definitely coming back to see her. Like most people, I have a sedentary office job which does no good for my back and shoulders especially (I know, I really should get up more, but I am lazy plus it’s hard to leave your desk when you get in the zone) and lately I’ve been having mild back pain and tightness in my neck and shoulders. Now I feel like Gumby.
I was a little scared at first because this was my first deep tissue massage and yes it was a little painful, but so worth it. Never going back to any other massage. Ereene was also really nice, super knowledgable about massaging, and very considerate about pressure and the heat of the stones. $ 125 for 90 min full body massage is worth it — I’ll probably be going at least every other month.
My only little complaint is when the front desk woman waved a tip envelope at me and asked if I was going to leave something for Ereene. Of course I was going to tip her, but I just think it’s awkward to ask because tipping is not mandatory … Plus I didn’t have cash so I had to charge it on my card. Other than that awkward exchange, I loved this place!

I had a wonderful hot stone massage with Michelle and I could not believe the relief I have experienced after 75 minutes she spent working on me. The range of motion in my neck improved dramatically! I felt relaxed and energized at the same time. Michelle’s demeanor is very calming, she listened to me and used just the right amount of pressure. You can definitely tell that she cares about her clients and their wellbeing.
I have been to multiple spas in the city and the experience I have had at In-​Symmetry is by far the best one.

First of all, I’d like to say that I have been a Unilocal member for a while, and never felt strongly enough to take the time to write a review. In-​Symmetry Wellness Spa changed that.
I booked my facial on MassageNow SF blindly, in desperate need of some face therapy. My skin had recently broken out due to hormonal acne, I was battling acne scars, and way overdue for some extractions. The location is on a quiet Portrero Hill street, and the spa is very well-​kept (nothing luxurious though.)
My facial was booked with Tuesday, who is one of the best estheticians I’ve ever met. She listened carefully to my skin concerns, and recommended a peach papaya enzyme mask (which she promised wouldn’t make my skin flake for days afterward.) She proceeded to give me one of the most meticulous facials I’ve ever had. She spent TONS of time on extractions (which I LOVE, I’m not here for the glamor) and gave me a fabulous arm, hand, shoulder, and head massage. I really appreciated her attention to detail, you can tell that she genuinely loves what she does and CARES about her clients.
The peach papaya enzyme mask tingled at first, but she took great care to make sure I’m comfortable. At the end of the facial, she took the extra time to write down a bunch of natural skincare and beauty products — bonus!
Now for the reveal — facing the mirror. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my face was not red, but was GLOWING. The scars have already faded away! I expect some redness later tonight but that’s all part of the process.
I cannot wait to be back here again for some face-​love. I’ve found my go-​to facial spa in SF — how lucky am I? Thanks so much Tuesday!

I came across in-​symmetry through the massagenow app. Upon entering, the lobby decoration consisted of pictures of Buddha and plenty of plants to create a zen atmosphere.
I checked in and filled out a questionnaire regarding areas or goals for my facial session. I was greeted by Tuesday, my esthetician, and was advised to undress leaving only my under garments. As an facial connoisseur, I was comfortable enough to go topless as it is more convenient for the shoulder and upper back massage.
Tuesday checked in with me with whether if I wanted her to tell me her process and product applications or if I wanted to doze off. With my customized facial, she decided to do a enzyme facial with extractions followed by a kelp and green tea mask while I relaxed to some French jazz.
I sat on remnants of what I believe to be coffee spills while I waited in the lobby earlier. Tuesday was extremely helpful and offered to apply some Shout stain remover to my white pants. Now that’s excellent customer service!
I saw my parents that same weekend and they were complimenting me on how great my skin looks. My skin has been glowing, less prominent dark circles, smaller pores, and plump skin. I look like I am more so in high school again irregardless of my asian genes.
Very satisfied with Tuesday’s work.

Patrice is extraordinary. He does a mix of deep tissue/​sports massage, hot stone, and assisted stretching. The massage feels divine and both times I have been, I left feeling years younger and glowing. He’s also kind and friendly– full of good advice for stretches to do at home, and when I was his last appointment of the day he gave me extra time, just because. I can’t recommend him more highly.

Massage Now brought me to In-​Symmetry for a facial. I was really pleased with the service and actually, it was probably the best massage during a facial that I’ve ever had. I was asked if I would like to just relax during the facial or if I wanted everything explained as it was happening. I told her I wanted to relax, but unfortunately she talked to me throughout the whole service. Even with that, I walked out of there a happy customer and even decided to purchase a lip gloss because it was so nice.
I had a billing issue but Candace the owner was very sweet and gave me a call and a free massage to make up for it.

Decided to spend my Spa Finder gift card here finally and wasn’t disappointed!
What I got? Microderm Facial (60 minutes)
Who did it? Tuesday, yes her name is Tuesday, and she is awesome. Introduced me to the miracles of Manuka Honey for beauty regimes. (google it)
How’d it go? Great! Tuesday is knowledgeable and has a great touch. She is efficient-​not too harsh or too soft on extractions and the massage is fabulous.
As someone who suffers from acne scars, I need major dead skin removed and plenty of glycolic acid to rejuvenate skin cells. Knowing this and coming in here having Tuesday know this fact and know what she was doing, I felt I was in good hands.
I had her kind of explain what she was doing throughout the process since it had been a while and it was super informative, then again if you just want peace and quiet, she’ll definitely do her own thing and let you relax.
I’d definitely come back when I have the money to burn but for now I’ll spend it on at home chemical peels, which are less expensive just not as lavish as going to the spa.
Décor: Nothing super fancy. The waiting area is quaint and calming.
Staff: Super nice and very polite
Pricing: Pretty average for the city, especially with the great service I’d say this is a «good bang for your buck»

Go to Sarah, that woman worked magic on my body! I had woken up with a terrible back pain that limited my movement, and I decided to call for a last minute appointment since they were able to accommodate in the past. When I arrived, I told Sarah I needed more attention on my back, I did tell her I had a meniscus tear on a knee and she understood immediately the effects a knee injury has on a body. An hour later, I walked out limb as a noodle, and pain free!
I decided to get their membership after this experience:
–they had a special going on
–I just found my masseuse for life!
–it’s never been a hassle making an appointment, over the phone or online
— they use hot stones at no additional cost. That’s unheard of nowadays!
–it’s actually a pretty good deal compared to many of thre other places I’ve gone to in the city.
Highly recommend in-​symmetry!

I highly recommended Tuesday! She is brilliant and very precise for all your waxing needs. I like my eyebrows thick but shapely, therefore I can have anxiety when someone is waxing them. Thankfully she does such a beautiful job every time. She has an incredibly artistic eye. She also does my Brazilian/​Bikini so fast and perfect to my liking. To top it off she has the most calming and kind energy, you walk into her room and feel immediately at peace. Thank you Tuesday!
I have also had a facial from her. She makes her own organic masks and scrubs that are brilliant! She also plays the best music! It was so relaxing and my skin looked stunning after. That was a good day!
The salon has a very calming and professional energy. Delicious tea before and after your sessions too!
Again I highly recommend this establishment, and Tuesday!
