Holy cow! Ioanna does the best blond highlights in San Francisco… and I know because I feel like I have been everywhere. In fact, my hair is in one of her photos. Let me set the stage… I have mousy brown hair — not the pretty brown that can be easily highlighted to look like Gisele. Rather, I have that bad ash brown hair with occasional gray. In addition, my hair is curly, not good curly, frizzy unfortunate and dry curly. Not anymore! In Ioanna’s capable hands my hair looks fantastic. She is a master at using multiple highlighting colors to get a truly natural look. It takes more time, but she never shies away from the work. It is her one and only goal to make me look my best. Ioanna has a cute little spot in Salon Village on Pacific Avenue. Her prices are reasonable and her skills are the best in the business. I could not recommend her highly enough. Again, I have been to all of the top salons in the city and have FINALLY found the perfect buttery blond highlights.

Ioanna was so educational and really took her time to make sure that I knew the process that would happen with my hair. My hair is dry due to a medical condition and Ioanna made sure that it was not compromised and in fact even after several washes, my hair is still soft and shiny. She made sure that my color turned out EXACTLY how I wanted. It’s always a little nerve wrecking trusting someone to cut/​color/​style your hair but you won’t regret going to Ioanna. Not to mention the atmosphere of her salon– a quiet, hospitable, and personable experience. Ioanna is now my new favorite hair woman and she is worth the 1 ½ hour trek (each way) from the east bay.

Ioanna is amazing hairstylist. She did a great job today. I am new in the city & unfortunatelly went to a wrong person to have my hair done before I got to her salon. I wanted to change the hair from blond to brown with lighter reflections and also have my hair cut done– bob style with the back shorter & longer front. My experiment with Bibbo hairdresser (Bibbo salon & spa on Sutter street) end up really bad. Bibbo butchered my hair (there was pieces of uneven hairs hanging here nd there, there was no shape at all of bob style, the cut looked so unproffesional, flat). He put chunks of blond yellow highlights and supposly brown color turned to orange on the top of my head!!! I spent $ 210. For this price I end up with disaster on my head. I found Ioanna here on Unilocal because I desperately needed someones help. She didn’t have an easy case because my hair were already short & completely messed up after previous treatment. She tried to fix the shape to bring the look I wanted from the first point. She didn’t recomend some invasive treatment with colorization to safe my hair from more damage. She tried as a first step to get rid off this ugly orange reflexion & smooth the visibility of the strips I had on my head from Bibbo’s thick highlights to get the natural result. She did small cuts to save the length of my hair to make the bob shape & even the hair. Her touch made a huge difference of overall look of my hairstyle. She didn’t know that my case will be so bad because I made only consultation with her, but she decided straight away to work on it to bring my smile back after all the cries I had from Bibbos dramatic result. She stayed late with me to make sure I leave 100% satisfied. She is detail oriented stylist, which I love about her and with passion to her proffesion. Amazing personality, she comforted me after all trauma I passed with Bibbo. I am very picky with hairstylist and I hardly trust new hairdresser, but with her I knew she knows her job well and I am in good hands finally to fix the bad cut & color, that was done to me before. I highly recommend her. Thanks to her I am smiling again.

I *always* get compliments on my hair when I go to Ioanna! I’ve been getting my hair done by Ioanna for years, and I’m happy that she’s in her new home at Pacific Hair Studio!
I have jet black hair, and it’s always been difficult for me to get to blonde or any form of light hair without killing my hair. Ioanna is the first stylist to be able to do it and still keep my hair feeling and looking healthy! People are always surprised that my hair is so soft after so much processing.
Ioanna is super friendly and accommodating; she’s willing to come in for her clients if they really need her! She’s saved the day for me so many times because she did my hair right before I had to leave to be a bridesmaid, lead a training, or go on vacation… I owe her so much!
Her coloring skills are the best I’ve ever had, and she loves to try new combos! Just let her know ahead of time so that she can procure the right color for you :)

This was an amazing experience. I don’t ever go to any salons because I am scared they will damage my hair; but I took a chance and booked an appointment with Ioanna and I am so happy I did!!! She was wonderful from taking the time to understand what I wanted to the whole process I am extremely happy with the results!!! Very professional. Will definitely be back again and again! Ioanna is great! She’s a super detail orientated perfectionist and she’s also an expert with curly hair. On top of that, she’s friendly and warm. Getting my hair cut was fun and it looked great!

This is an adorable salon. The décor is beautiful and relaxing. It’s tucked away in the back of Salon Village, so it’s nice and private; no drop ins to distract them. I had my hair done by Ioanna. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on my cuts that she has done. She was not only fastidious about getting the cut just right, but also cared about the health of my hair and made suggestions as to how I could better care for my locks so that they look good not just today, but for years to come. She has been very creative in thinking of various solutions for my cowlicks, that make bangs a particularly hard challenge. Their prices are reasonable as well.

Ioanna gives one of the best hair cuts and natural, sun-​kissed looking color with balayage. I have long, fine, frizzy, curly hair which I had damaged with bleach and drug store shampoo. Ionna painstakingly cut every split end so I could keep my hair at a long length and you would never guess that i have grey hair. one on one personalized attention and pampering — being at her salon is relaxing and by the end of the session you will look like a Goddess who had summered in Santorini. This is definitely a stylist that listens and delivers.

Atiya is amazing and super easy to talk to. Her partner Ioanna is also super fun. Atiya has done a great job giving my short-​hair look back. Love the new hair cut and the color! Definitely recommend.

Ioanna, how I love u. I am so SO happy I found her. I am not good with change, and desperately needed a good (and affordable) place to get a STYLISH cut. I brought pics and Ioanna did exactly that. I’m getting compliments left and right. I wish I could bring her home with me to do my hair everyday. The salon is so peaceful and Ioanna is so fun to talk to. She has such a bubbly personality. I highly recommend Pacific Hair Studio!

I love love this place its so comfortable very welcoming the neighborhood is gorgeous the beauticians are very nice down to earth and most amazingly Ms. Atiya Owens got the job done in a very professional timely matter and the results of just what I asked for spectacular this will be my favorite on going spot im very pleased thank you so much keep up the good work its worth it.
If you need a private appt you can request one before regular salon hours :)

Tiya did a great job smoothing out my extra curly hair. Sometimes people get intimidated by African American especially mine that has been colored so much. Tiya was really sweet and I love this gold oil from kerastase she used on me. We did a wash blowdry and flat iron and I have to say my hair is so soft and silky I can’t stop swinging my hair around.

I finally decided to make a change and add some real color to my hair. Aside from the subtle hues of colored tint from the box hair dye, my black hair has always been black. Atiya helped walk me through the experience of picking out the right color that was a nice change, but still safe and satisfying. From the initial bleaching of my hair, to adding the actual color, she talked me through the steps as she physically did them. This was super comforting and cool since it reassured me that she was confident and knew what she was doing.
After, she gave me a nice blowout (I have never gotten one before but always wondered what it was like) & explained that it isn’t as easy as it looks. It was a nice touch of volume to add to my new golden chocolate brown balayage hair.
Definitely check out this place. Very professional, passionate, & skilled workers. Not your typical salon since it has a private & comforting ambience.

I love the salon! The design & color scheme is so relaxing. Atiya is Awesome. Not only is her styling skills great but so is her personality. Her extensions look natural and her haircuts will have you feeling like a new woman. Check her out next time you are in need of a silky smooth blow out.

I had my hair styled for a party at Pacific Hair Salon by Ioanna and I was amazed at a number of outcomes:
1) The style was better than I expected! I asked for a «Mad Men» themed look and Ioanna executed it brilliantly!
2) The style lasted all night, which far exceeded my expectations! It also looked great in photos and I received many compliments.
3) The vibe in the salon is fun and happy!
4) The décor in the salon is beautiful and super clean! It is equipped with all the latest magazines and the staff offer great refreshments.
For my next hair cut and color, I will most definitely go to the Pacific Hair Salon!

Ioanna at Pacific Hair Studio has always been amazing with my curly hair, so I was excited to learn she was opening this studio with a partner.
Beautiful, impeccably clean space for pampering with great rates, especially considering the posh neighborhood.
I was expecting the same level of styling expertise and was not disappointed. My curly/​wavy hair can be hard to handle, but not for salon owner Ioanna, who blow drys my hair to silky smoothness. She also always respects my requests to trim as little as possible (since my hair grows at a glacial pace) but still manages to make my hair look stylish and fresh.
I’ll be back every six weeks! ;-)

If you need a new great hairstylist this is the place to go. Ioanna is amazing she not only will listen to what you want but will give you great service and an fresh new look. Whether you need a hairdo or color. I always leave with a smile from the excellent service. The beautiful private salon is also a plus.
