JCCSF Preschool – Rosenberg Early Childhood Center

Our second child is going through JCCSF’s Rosenberg preschool now and we can’t say enough good things about the program. The Reggio Emilia curriculum puts the learning focus on the children and their interests, and everything is infused with Jewish values that also seem to be universal human values– be a good friend, think of others, learn and explore, help make the world a better place. The kids go on walks around the neighborhood and into the Presidio. They help with cooking projects in the real kitchen and pretend-​cook in the mud kitchen. Arts and Crafts are creative and I’ve never seen a worksheet or coloring book within a 50 foot radius of the school. And the campus! I wish I could spend my days there, hanging out with the caring, thoughtful teachers. Can you tell we are fans? With my kids there from 8 am to 6 pm, you bet I am.

This is my sixth year at Rosenberg. My son attended for three years and my daughter is on her third year. Rosenberg is a beautiful school that encourages individual growth and expression in the child. There is emphasis on gardening, music, and art. It’s a very positive school and there is a warm vibe. There is ample opportunity for parent involvement — but at the same time, the parent chooses how much they want to be involved in the community. I have really enjoyed our time at the school and feel my children are going to reap the awards of attending Rosenberg forever.
