I was desperate for a last minute facial since my skin has been become dry from braving the cold season. I’ve walked past this store many times, but never had any interest in walking in. Luckily, I walked-in on a late Sunday afternoon and Vicki was able to take me in on the Deep Clean Facial. Deep Clean Facial($ 70) — supposedly helps even out skin tone and is relaxing and hydrating. All facials include deep cleaning, steam vapor, exfoliation, face mask with a face, neck, and shoulder massage. You have to ring the doorbell and one of the two ladies will come down to open the door. Since there are only two people working, they are usually tending to other customers upstairs, so do not be alarmed if you do not see anyone in the lobby. I was led upstairs to a small room with a throw blanket and was advised to change into a terry cloth dress. First, she cleansed my face with different types of cleanser followed by wiping this off with a reusable paper towel. This threw me off since most places use actual face towels. Next, she turned on the steam vapor, this was more on the hot side as my lips started to feel the heat and I was waiting for it to end. She followed up with extracting my pores and was very detailed about getting every single one on my face. This was followed by some type of treatment that stung my face a pinch. I am guessing this must be some type of astringent effect to sanitize the skin. She then placed a thin net over my face and proceed with painting on some face mask. I laid on the table for 10 – 15 minutes. She came back and cleansed my face and place two other moisturizers on. Throughout my facial, she would massage my neck, back, head, and face for what felt like a good 15 minutes. For 50 minutes at $ 70, this is was a decent deal in the city. If there was one thing I would say I didnt like about my facial was her applications, it felt rushed. Altogether, I would come back.

I have been coming to Kays for about a year. My first facial was with Ling. She is very meticulous with her extractions. She makes sure she removes every whitehead/blackhead and acne. She is very consistent and spends a good 1.5−2 hrs with me and I never feel like she’s rushing through the facial. It is a great price, $ 48 and I give tip. I like the antibaterial wand she uses after extractions to close pores and zap away any germs. It is easy to make an appointment and I can get a same day if I call early in the morning. Viki also did a facial for me but she is always busy since she has been at Kays for a very long time. Ling is the best esthetician!
