I learned something new last week: real chili has no beans. Say what?!
Gail is an absolute peach and took the time to educate me on the real deal when it comes to this spicy, comfort food delight, and being that Ruggeford + beans = no bueno, I was delighted to walk away with this information. Which means, when you’re enjoying their award-​winning chile verde, you can be sure a legume won’t come close to sliding past your tonsils. For folks with dietary sensitivities, you’re stoked, as this is some tasty stuff.
Catch these cats at farmer’s markets throughout the Bay Area, and be sure to swoop their goods when you stumble by. With winter finally making it’s presence felt, it’s the perfect cold-​weather comestible.
