We discovered this place on a crazy busy Friday evening of the Super Bowl City events. The place was packed, people waiting on both end of the restaurant. Our wait was about 15 minutes, not too bad. The ramen were perfectly cooked, my husband had the #1, and I had the Vegetarian misco ramen. Both were Delicious! The two servers were as pleasant as can be with a full house, every table was packed. They still took the time to make sure the customers were happy and they had everything. Absolutely we will be back again, and again!

Service not so good– when I came in a lot of tables were empty so I asked can I sit by the window. The waitress gave me a look and said she has to ask first. When she returned she let me to another table– well at least u can give me a reason. Whenever I ordered she gave me face — do you not wanna work here? I looked at the table next to me and she has the same attitude. Yes waiting table is tough and customers can be annoying — I have been there. But at least show that u wanna be here? The ramen is kinda too oily and salty. Meh not returning.

You have a lot of choices for different types of cuisine in the financial district and if you want a good bowl of ramen soup, this is good option if you don’t want to hike to Chinatown. My wife had the No. 1 Ramen — soy-based gyokai tonkotsu, chashu, menma, kikurage, soy-marinated soft-boiled egg, and scallion. My wife only ate half so I had the opportunity to finish her dish. Very tasty. Maybe my thoughts on Ramen aren’t always positive since I use to buy it while going to college(10 for $ 1.00), but maybe my problem was not adding all the different ingredients as I listed above. As for my dish, I didn’t really want soup so I had the Unagi(barbecued eel), homemade teriyaki sauce, nori, pickles. It was very good(not great) and you got plenty of food. Excellent service. Restaurant is pretty big, but portion was closed off because they only had two people taking orders, delivering food, etc. so there were around 2 – 3 parties waiting for tables to open up. They also had community tables.

Generally their food is good. Not great and there are better places in walking distance for Ramen if you are in the Embarcadero. My biggest gripe with them however is that you can’t place an order for pick up over the phone. If I’m going to grab something to eat at my desk the food here is definitely not good enough to justify a 15 minute wait in their minuscule waiting area.

What a wonderful place for a ramen shop . Cha shu pork was very tender and the house made noodles were delicious. I enjoyed the Kim chi there as well so it’s must order. Also their house made ice cream are on point here. The flavors stand out. I enjoyed how everything is house made with welcoming staff and décor.

This place is amazing. I went pretty early for my work lunch break– 11am– so I could avoid the crowd which I am glad I did as people starting piling in around 11:45. There are some individual tables as well as group tables where it’s a free for all for seating. So again, I am glad I came early so I could have my own table. The food came fast but not too fast, I ordered: Edamame– perfectly salted, super warm. For $ 3 they give you a large bowl which was more than enough for 1 person. Miso Ramen– I think this was about $ 13 which is worth it. I never eat pork however, this time I did as it was thick and meaty. The broth was perfect, the corn was perfect, the noodles were perfect. It was also very hot as well, which I like. Con– the diet coke came in a glass bottle and was $ 3– I am someone who can drink a whole pitcher of soda during one meal so I had a savor my 1 $ 3 bottle. I can’t wait to go again.

Ramen is perfect for the rainy weather and I am always on the hunt to keep my tummy warm! We entered Kirimachi around 5pm but just missed the happy hour $ 10 ramen, darn! But that didn’t stop us from trying out the other dishes! Today I had the Ramen #1. It came in a decent lunch sized portion. It consisted of a tonkotsu base, pork, half a boiled egg, and veggies. I like that the soup base is MSG free and that they use high quality ingredients for their noodles. I felt like the noodles had a medium to hard texture. It was flavorless on its own but good when spooned with the soup. The pork was sliced very thinly and a tad dry. The soup itself was very oily but flavorful. After finishing the dish, we watched as our soup turned into a transparent solid. I enjoyed the modern ambiance and how spacious it was. I didn’t feel like I was being crowded or that I was being rushed out. Kirimachi is at a prime location and the service was very attentive. Maybe today was an off day, but I would definitely give Kirimachi a second try!

Wonderful experience!!! Food there tastes so good. I had a bento box, my mom and my brother both had the No.1 ramen. Definitely a place to go.

sooo this place was all right. right in soma though, so i’d probably come back for the noodles. came in on a saturday and the place was actually pretty popular — unexpected. the service is really friendly, albiet a bit absent — there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant! so she brings you a jug of water to reduce workload, which is completely fine with me. i got — chicken karaage, #2 ramen with spicy miso(add corn and cabbage) and half noodle, and an anchor steam. this was $ 35 with tax and tip — pretty pricey for lunch for 1, but this is embarcadero, so… expected. the chicken was really nicely fried, crunch outside and tender on the inside. the noodles were also cooked well, but i thought the broth was slightly lacking in flavor even with the spicy miso added(+ $.50). the lady was super nice though, so that makes up for everything! will probably come back at some point hehe

I work nearby so I eat here pretty regularly. I highly recommend their homemade kimchi($ 2.50 in the appetizer section) as a good accompaniment to a bowl of hot ramen. I’ve tried both their Number 1(Tonkatsu) and Miso Ramen soups. Broth is flavorful and I recommend you add Kuro(blackened/fermented garlic to your soup, for 50 cents) since it adds a nice layer of flavor that is not overpowering. Portion-wise, it is on the smaller side from what you’d normally get at most ramen shops, however it didn’t leave me hungry after finishing a bowl. They also make their own noodles! I’ve seen them do this since there’s a pasta/noodle machine in the front corner of the restaurant. When I was there for dinner one time, they ran out of noodles at the end of the day, and made a fresh batch for the dinner patrons — lucky for me! Also, price-wise ramen is about $ 13 – 14 bowl and the service is attentive and courteous. Plus, it’s a nice short walk from the Ferry Building and located conveniently in Embarcadero 3, along the corner of Clay and Davis Street which means you’d have a nice view of the the park right across the street, while having lunch or dinner.

Went there for lunch, had no.1 ramen. The soup is good, so is the pork and veggies. The noodle is just so-so. The place is not big, we wait for 5 min together a table. It’s a pricy for the quality of ramen, I had much better ones in Japen town with much less $$, but it’s in downtown, I guess we are paying for the rent$$ Still much better than ramen bar near by

The Top 3 things I look in A+ ramen are 1) the broth 2) the yummy fixins(IE meat/veggies) 3) the egg(i mean who doesn’t love a semi cooked gooey egg in ramen, some people are weird about half cooked eggs so feel free to disregard) &4) the noodle itself. I came here during my workday lunch with coworkers. For a table of 4, we got there around 12:30 and got seated around 15 minutes later. The service was pretty fast after being seated and we left a little under an hour. I ordered the Shio Tonkotsu and I like spicy ramen so I added the spicy miso for 50 cents. Note that it is a spoonful of spicy miso paste that you stir in, I took some out because I wanted to be able to enjoy the other flavors as well. The broth itself was very tasty, not salty at all and the spiciness was not overpowering. My order came with around 4 slices of pork(chashu) and they were very tender, not chewy at all. The kikurage provided some texture to broth as it is naturally a bit chewy. I have never seen argula in ramen so it was an interesting touch, it didn’t too much for the flavor but it did add some color which presentation wise was nice. The egg was cooked to perfection, my only ask would be to have 1 whole egg versus a just a half because it was so good. The noodles were a tab bit harder to chew compared to other ramen places I have been to but still tasty. I love putting all of the elements of the dish in one bite whenever I eat ramen. Everything came together very nicely and I was very happy with my meal. I would place Kiramachi in my top 5 spots in San Francisco and San Mateo County. I would definitely come back here!

Stumbled across this place by accident but glad I did. Casual and clean ambiance. Ramen was really good. Good broth and noodles. Pork was melt in your mouth. Soft boiled egg perfect. Service was excellent. Very courteous and efficient. Will return when back in town.

The five of us found the waitlist. No one greeted us. We were then directed to wait in a cramped hall. Eventually. a server led us to our seats, returned promptly to ask us what we want. I received my #1 bowl first and everyone else had to wait. The first sip of broth was fatty– delicious and decadent. As I continued, it tasted bland, so I added their spice flakes. I wasn’t a fan of chashu being cold. The medium boiled egg had a great yolk and the noodles were enjoyably firm. I would try the kikurage and menma again. 3.5 stars: bland broth, good egg, interesting ingredients. Rounding down for value($ 15 for a smaller-than-average bowl is fairly expensive even for FiDi) and service(could be better).

When I have my one day a week off from jury duty and go back to my office, my pal Jeremy P and I like to splurge a little on lunch, usually with ramen. He had tried Kirimachi a couple months before and said it was awesome and that they were going to start making their own noodles in-house. Well the time had come, we guessed, that the noodles were going to be super fresh so we headed over last week for a little sake and ramen. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the Shoyu and was very satisfied. The description, for a Yank like myself, is muy confusing, but thankfully there’s a description at the bottom of the menu, so I knew I was getting pork which was the third most important component behind the soy-marinated, soft-boiled and the freshly made noodles. The broth was hot and comforting and I liked the crunch of the corn and the arugula, which I don’t usually see in ramen. The sake was milky and sweet. A very good experience over all for us.

Japanese ramen houses are quaint, simple and is all about their ramen. To a ramen house, everything else is just accompaniment to the large bowl of noodle soup. It’s cheap, simple and to many a comfort food. Trust me, I want to love the bowl of soup that I ordered. It has all the bells and whistle of a fine bowl of ramen. The broth is full, very rich and complete with dimensions. The noodles were pretty good as well, doesn’t matter if it’s fresh or not. You gotta know how to cook it, and they’ve got that covered. Somehow the arugula is just not a perfect mix or addition to the bowl. It totally doesn’t tie into anything. It sorta breaks the dish, not make it. The packaged soft boil eggs can be overlooked, but the tastebuds doesn’t appreciate the arugula. I love it on my salad, but I don’t think it works on a bowl of ramen. The service is amazing, everything is stellar in that department. The setting alone is very good. It’s clean, it’s very inviting and very user friendly. Thank you staff for a pleasant dining experience

My husband and i came in the last 30 minutes before closing, but they welcome us in anyway and brought our ramen to us promptly. About 5 minutes before closing they still offered us dessert and more water. Earl Grey ice cream is the bomb! I felt bad for coming in late before closing but the staff were friendly and even the manager asked if our food was okay and invited us to come back again. Good food, good service, and a nice clean restaurant!

Ramen is tough to review. Once you have had a «perfect» bowl in Japan(or NYC), everything else will be a letdown. Unfortunately, San Francisco has a lot of mediocre-to-crappy ramen. So solid ramen is actually pretty good on a relative basis. And that’s how I feel about this place. It holds its own for San Francisco, though not quite on the world stage. No. 1 Ramen w/Kura: A tonkotsu broth, which is full of porky goodness, though not as rich as I’ve had at places in Tokyo and NYC. The pork is tasty, nicely marinated and roasted, but it was cold. Had to dunk it in the broth to warm up; would have preferred it to come out warm. The noodles were decent, chewy and crinkly, but not earth shattering. I saw the kura(black garlic) upgrade drizzled on, but didn’t really notice it when I tasted the broth. Would have been nice to bring it out as something I could pour in myself and taste the difference. Gyoza: Smaller than regular dumplings. They did have a decent sear at the bottom, though it wasn’t overly crispy. Liked the dipping sauce.

Kirimachi Ramen is an alright ramen joint. The broth was alright, the tonkatsu was alright, the noodles were alright. The service was alright as well. The serving was not entirely generous and the price was high, which makes sense considering their location. Speaking of location, they are very near my work so even though the ramen is just alright, I would probably be going here for my next ramen fix because of convenience. If you want alright ramen in the Embarcadero Center, Kirimachi is your place.

2.5 stars to 3 stars. Strolling through the Embarcaderos during lunch time with my mind craving ramen, I decided to stop by this new little ramen joint in the neighborhood. I don’t have my expectation too high for this place based on the ratings and pictures I’ve seen, but feeling adventurous, I’ve decided to try it regardless! You wouldn’t know good ramen until you try a variety! I ordered their Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and the broth was flavorful after mixing in the spice paste in with the soup. It had a rich flavor and slightly oily from the pork fat, but I was okay with the fatness level. I did wish the soup temperature to be more hot since it was just slightly hotter than luke warm. The noodles were okay, thick and springy, it was still better than the noodles from Ramen Underground. The toppings… well the soft-boiled egg was not bad!(except the fact that it was slightly cold) BUT the chashu was very underwhelming and it did not have any flavor ATALL. It was almost as if it was boiled in water for at least a day, sat out for an hour, and all the flavor from the pork meat evaporated. Basically in my opinion, their bowl of ramen needs to be served with everything hot. Luke warm ramen soup is a big nono in my book. Customer service was nice. The lady asked how my ramen was while I was tasting their piece of flavorless chashu. I politely nodded my head at her while trying really hard to give her my ramen satisfied smile, but my face muscles was fighting back at me.
