Just because you slather Hoisin sauce on everything doesn’t make it automatically tasty. I’m looking at you Kung Fu Tacos. We pigged out on 3 different tacos and the best one had to be the Mu Shu. It had the most flavor(due to the Hoisin sauce) but wasn’t worth the steep price tag.

We tried the bbq pork and the duck tacos. They were interchangeable visually and flavor wise. The salsa was too sweet and the tortillas were boring.

They were at SOMA StrEat Food Park, so I figured I’d give these guys a try. Had the Nunchuk chicken burrito, which tasted awesome. The burrito is made up of soy sauce chicken, fried rice and black beans wrapped up in a tortilla. I was really surprised at how good it tasted. A good size burrito which filled me up. If you want to try something different, then this is good food truck to look out for.

The Kung Fu Taco truck was on campus(SFSU) sometime last week so I opted to order a burrito for myself. Out of all of ‘em, I chose to get Char Sui Pork. They ran out of it… but had pork belly instead of the usual meat they use for Char Sui Pork. I said I didn’t mind because it’s pork belly. Cost was $ 8. And they take card. Burrito was a good size. Fillings were good… but not my favorite. Quality was fine, but flavor-wise, I was not too blown away. Not so much that it was plain but it actually had too much flavor… or a flavor I didn’t like. Sweet savory. I didn’t like that in a burrito. And the pork belly actually got a little over bearing after a while. Good quality food but the taste isn’t really for me. That’s just how it is.

Yes finally the Kung Fu Taco truck is on campus today. They weren’t here last week and but they are here today. They didn’t start serving the food closer to 12 and by that time the line was growing. This truck has expanded a lot. I remember when i used to have them outside of Candybar. At at thime it was just tacos. Now they have burritos and rice boxes. The burritos are wrapped in a flour tortilla and fried rice, black beans asian pico de gallo and kung fu sauce. You have the option of Asian Asada steak, nun chuk chicken, car sui pork, roast duck, mushu veggie or tai chi tofu. The Rice box comes with fried rice, sauteed bok choy, aisan pico de gallo and kung fu sauce. You have the same options as their burrito. I got the Roast duck rice box, because i normally loved their duck tacos. The duck is chopped up into small pieces and the meat was tender. It was paired well with the sweet kung fu sauce which to me tasted like hoisan sauce. The $ 10.00 i kind of wished the rice box was bigger. Overall, i will recommend this place esp. their duck. I will like to try their tofu options late.
