I am an electrical contractor and have worked on a number of remodel projects with Leslie and her team. They are organized, professional and easy to work with. Leslie has an artist’s eye for color and texture, and has a talent for combining interesting elements in ways that are surprising and visually exciting. She and her team are very patient –never forcing ideas, but rather, listening closely to their clients and delivering designs that exceed expectations. I highly recommend Labexperiment!

Working with Leslie is such a treat! She listens well and offers ideas and expertise that is congruent with who we are so that a finished room (and we have worked together on several now) looks attractive and well put together. She is fun to work with, very professional, inspiring, timely, and fair. In fact, I am about to ring her to begin another project!

My husband and I have had the pleasure of working with Leslie over the past few months. While my husband was skeptical at first, he has loved the results and calls the process «fun and enjoyable». We initially contacted Labexperiment for design help in one room and had such a great experience working with Leslie that we moved on to get her help in making over two’ bedrooms, pick interior and exterior paint colors for the whole house, and design and guide a complete remodel of two bathrooms.
Leslie is an expert problem solver, a good listener, has great taste, and is fun to work with.

After going it alone on two previous home remodel projects, I finally smartened up and hired LabExperiment to finish the remodel I had started 8 years ago. I not only love my new bathrooms and kitchen, this time around, I actually enjoyed the remodel process.
We started the process with my budget and my general ideas for my remodel, which included remodeling an existing bathroom, adding a second bathroom, expanding the kitchen and adding laundry facilities.
Leslie and Joelle gave me suggestions which were consistent with my style and within by budget. They adhered to my requirement of providing no more than three options at a time — more than three and I get overwhelmed, especially with paint colors.
Our meetings were relaxed and fun but also professional, whether the meetings were just with me or those including my contractor and his subs. Joelle took notes during the meeting which ensured we were all on the same page and eliminated miscommunications.
They created a project book which was kept onsite that contained detailed drawings, designs and specs. The contractor and various subs referred to the project book, which further eliminated miscommunications, and more importantly, eliminated the contractor stopping work to contact me to discuss a particular detail.
Both Leslie and Joelle have a working knowledge of construction and Joelle created the plans which were submitted to my engineer, and in turn, submitted to the City to pull permits.
The stress I went through with my previous remodels was nonexistent; I wish I had contacted LabExperiment sooner!

I seriously love Labexperiment and their occasionally updates. For one thing, they prompt me to think of things that guys never think of (throw pillows, for example), but they also offer ideas for events and other things that make my home one of my favorite places.

I have had the pleasure of working with Leslie and her assistant, Joelle the last few months. I needed some help with getting some ideas laying out the floor plan for my ex-husband’s apartment. After suffering a stroke, he needed some help moving into a small apartment from a house. I wanted to help make his place more homey and comfortable, so I called LabExperiment. I have always wanted to call an interior design company, but felt intimidated and thought it would be too expensive. So far they have been right on with the design and the things they have helped me pick out. I really like the idea of the flat fee for a room and you just give them your budget, so you don’t end up breaking the bank. I look forward to working with the team on my house next and getting some long overdue projects done.

Working with Labexperiment and especially Leslie has been a great experience.
While sometime my style differs from her own, she always can bring the room and space together in a cohesive way.
Also even if I cannot break the bank, she always has creative solutions for paying less for more!

If you’re looking for a little help sprucing up your place, definitely give Leslie and her team at Lab Experiment a try. We used them to completely redesign one room as well as add some finishing touches to other areas of the house. They had terrific recommendations, were easy to work with, and their services — and recommendations — were reasonably priced.
For us working folk with little time for calls or meetings, the Lab Experiment model is terrific. After an initial consultation (and photos and detailed measurement), Leslie and her team provide an online «prescription» — a website you log into to retrieve your suggested floor plan, color palette and furniture suggestions (complete with prices and links). I purchased nearly all of the items myself (at night, online), though Lab Experiment will do the purchasing and installations for you with an added service fee. They’ll even meet the delivery folks if necessary.
We love how everything turned out. Our home not only looks better but it also «works» better, thanks to Leslie and the team’s thoughtful selections.

My wife and I turned to Labexperiment for a major bathroom renovation in our 1940’s home. Leslie was terrific to work with — she’s detailed, professional, responsive, and really creative. She quickly understood our vision of transforming a dark, cramped, boring, and not very functional bathroom into a light, bright, spa-​like oasis. The end result is stunning and we couldn’t be happier.
When we had difficulty lining up a contractor, Leslie helped us find one with expertise with glass tile, which is trickier to work with. I appreciated that she was always available to discuss all the tiny details and decisions that needed to be made — who knew there were more than a couple grout colors? When you add up all the small decisions, it makes a big difference in the overall result.
Leslie has a great eye for design and a friendly, easy-​going personality that made working with her a real pleasure. If you’re thinking about a renovation project, I’d highly recommend Labexperiment.

Leslie and her team did a truly outstanding job on our tech company’s office. She redesigned two large spaces, on time and under budget — truly unheard of – and the results are gorgeous and functional. Additionally, Leslie and her team are a pleasure to work with and responsive. I would recommend Labexperiment to anyone and would come to her again as a client myself for any future projects.

My wife and I moved from the East Coast several months ago with a bunch of outdated furniture and a desire to finally upgrade our living space. We felt pretty overwhelmed by the idea of starting from scratch, especially since we were both very busy and often indecisive when it came to making décor decisions in past apartments. Our new apartment was also a completely different layout than our prior place and we were struggling with how to lay everything out.
We originally didn’t think we could afford an interior designer, but then we stumbled upon Leslie’s prescription service. It seemed like a perfect fit because we really only needed help with our main living room + outdoor space (vs. an entire apartment), the pricing was fixed, and we liked how Leslie’s aesthetic was more modern/​youthful than other designers we saw. The consultation was really helpful — we gave Leslie a lot of feedback about what we liked and by the end of it, we felt like she truly understand what we wanted. She was incredibly easy to talk to and quickly put us at ease.
After receiving the prescription a few weeks later, we were absolutely floored. First off, Leslie helped us re-​do our furniture layout in a way that in the end made a ton more sense. She also managed to find us items across all categories that fit perfectly with the look we were going for and best of all, were actually affordable. We ended up implementing a very high percentage of her recommendations right off the bat — which we were not expecting because we can be very picky. There’s simply no way we could have even come close to putting something together this cohesive on our own, even if we had the time.
Our apartment is now 90% done and it looks fantastic. It looks like we spent 2x the amount we actually did because of Leslie’s reasonably priced (but stylish) recommendations. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for affordable interior design.

tl;dr: don’t be intimidated by the idea of hiring a designer, and Leslie is a fantastic choice!
When my wife and I moved to San Francisco, we were starting from scratch. No furniture, few belongings. As we began to take note of shops we liked around the city, we found we were drawn to Aldea’s design sense. Inquiring about their design services led us to Leslie.
Leslie met us at our place for a consultation and was extremely professional and friendly from the start. We looked through binders of design materials to give her a sense of our style preference. She snapped photos of our near-​empty space and went to work putting together a design to transform our «place» into our «home».
Given the amount of work our place needed, we decided to go with Leslie’s prescription service. For a flat fee per room, she comes up with a complete design along with implementation details and a list of materials. Prescriptions turned out to be quite affordable and allowed us to work on implementing one room while she designed the next.
Leslie nailed just about every detail of our design on the first try. For some of the large pieces, she had us try out several different options and give our opinions before solidifying designs. Overall, the process was a very collaborative one, and though we rarely had negative feedback to give, when we did she was very responsive. Any time we were uncertain about implementing a part of the design ourselves or just didn’t want to go through the hassle, Leslie arranged and managed the entire process. When we preferred to do things ourselves, she stepped out of the way and allowed us to take care of it.
We ended up having Leslie deign 3 rooms (living, bed, office), our hallway, and front entry for us. After months of living in the finished product, we’re still so happy with the result. Each piece is as functional and comfortable as it is stylish, which makes for a place that’s as easy to live in as it is on the eyes. We frequently get compliments on both details and the overall «feel» of the design. It accomplishes every purpose we’d hoped for in a space: hosting groups of friends, accommodating family from out of town, or just having an evening in to ourselves.
I would (and do) recommend Leslie to anybody looking for a designer for their home, and even to many who don’t think custom design is within their budget. She makes the process approachable and affordable, and the results speak for themselves.

When I moved to San Francisco I came with absolutely nothing. Well, maybe I had one fork. Leslie totally hooked me up. Together we found all my furniture, carpets, window treatments, etc. She also comes with a coterie of electricians, gardeners, contractors, etc. all of whom we used at my place with stellar results. I recommend her highly. She can satisfy everyone from the most demanding, high-​end clients to average folks like me.

Leslie helped us design the lighting for our addition and remodel. She was friendly, easy to work with, and very clear in her answers to all of our (many) questions. Her expertise was extremely helpful and her rates were reasonable. She clearly knows what she’s doing — she figured things out instantly that we had puzzled over unsuccessfully for days. I recommend her highly and if we ever have need of design help in the future, I would call Leslie again in a heartbeat.
