I hired Lewis Merlo company to repair my sidewalk curb when I received a Notice to Repair from City of San Francisco. I’ve contacted several contractors for estimates and most of them didn’t even bother to return my call or show up for the appointment. One «5 Star» company quoted the job (without seeing the NTR) with an extra zero after 3 digits! Lewis Merlo was the only company that responded quickly with call backs and emails. I spoke to Owen which contacted the Inspector to check the degree of work expected before quoting any price. He coordinated the job, got his guys out and completed the work within the day. If you received a NTR, look no further and contacted Lewis Merlo Company. Owen knows what he’s doing and make sure the job is done correctly. I recommend this company to anyone that needs concrete work done.

This is the concrete works by a company who has done work for the City of San Francisco. Lewis Merlo Company has been in business since 1906. I’ve hire this company to redo my driveway and sidewalk after the city has gone through my street for areas requiring repairs. The other side of my street was the first to be assessed for repairs. I checked out all the different contractors who made repairs across the street and noticed the exceptional work by Lewis Merlo’s company. The worst work was completed by another company where the sidewalk concrete cracked in less than 1 week. The work done on my property was excellent for these reasons.
The groves were straight and deep.
The concrete had consistent color throughout.
The curb had nice slants on each side.
The metal vent on the sidewalk was replaced.
The concrete compound was mixed just right as to not crack under pressure and environmental exposures.
The driveway width was widened to allow more room to exit a sloped driveway at an angle.
So you see, the concrete color, compound mixture, attention to details do matter. It has been about 10 years since the work was done and the concrete work still looks like new.
