Liane Skin Care

Liane has a wonderful unique holistic approach to natural skincare. She spends a lot of time asking questions about your lifestyle, diet, exercise, and skin care to identify the cause of any issues and develop a plan tailored to your needs. Her products are all natural and very affordable, some made by her. I believe her prices to be comparable to other facialists in SF. I would recommend her to anyone who is has sensitive skin or is looking for an effective alternative to the harsh mainstream treatments and methods. I only withhold a fifth start because I have only visited her once, but I have my next appointment already booked.

First of all I would have to warn all of the readers here that the 3 reviews Liane received 1 stars for are complete bullshit. I love that this woman «Corinne» made her friends «MamaFeelGood» (seriously?) and «emily» (who is from Philly! Hilarious!) write bogus reviews about an aethetician they have never even met. Makes me wonder about Unilocal legal issues. Anyway the fact of the matter is this woman Corinne never followed through with her «allergic reaction» and it has yet to be proven that she even had one.
The fact of the matter is, Liane is a superb and HIGHLY knowlegable aethetician. She carefully looks at your skin and makes incredibly wonderful decisions on processes and products that she uses. I too had a reaction to something she gave me (NOONE and I repeat NOONE has more sensitive skin than me. I’m in a class by myself) and I went right back in, she took it back from me and returned my money. Whenever I have reactions to anything (her stuff or otherwise) she gladly takes a look at my skin, does some very effective muscle testing, and then makes other suggestions. She is truly in a class by herself. She is OBSESSED with cleaning her brushes, beyond anything I have ever seen with any other aesthetician. (And I have been to them all). You won’t find someone like Liane anywhere else, and it would be a crime to NOT see this wonderful, caring woman for your skincare needs.

I’ve been to see Liane once, and I have to say that she does an amazing facial. She took the time to customize a facial for my skin type and gave me instructions for how to maintain the nice results on my own. I left with a couple of products… a mask and a new moisturizer. The moisturizer seemed to be too rich for my skin, but when I called Liane to let her know, she called back immediately and set up a time for me to come in and see her. She tweaked my skin regimen a little and gave me much peace of mind. She continues to follow up with emails to see how everything is going. It takes time to get to know a client’s skin, and she has gone above and beyond to try to understand my skin and to tailor a regimen that works. I’m definitely going back :)

DON’T GO TO LIANE!
My dear friend had an allergic reaction from a facial that Laine provided. Sadly my friend had to go to the ER, take prescription meds to treat the reaction, and missed a day of work!
When my friend tried to resolve it with Laine directly she was given the cold shoulder, hung up on, and when they she called Liane back she was told to talk to a lawyer about it. This is shady business practices!
Sounds like Laine doesn’t have accountability for herself, and doesn’t have much respect for her clients even if they are in pain.
Shame on you Laine!

Please do not go! I’ve heard terrible things. A girlfriend of mine just had a horrific experience after visiting Liane. She attempted to resolve the situation directly with Liane and was unable to after Liane completely ignored her and refused to speak with her. Her skin has been damaged due to the mistreatment and ill care. Please go at your own risk. My dear friend ended up in the ER and with subsequent doctor visits that she is now financially responsible for since Liane is down right negligent.

Liane is terrific!
I have had 2, so far, facials in a series of 4 from her. I cant’ wait to get the other two. The atmosphere is relaxing and warm. The facials I have had from her have left my skin feeling brand new; it’s more supple, clear and glows. It’s a royal treatment.
I am happy to trust my skin and face to Liane!

Liane is HORRIBLE!!! I really hate to be the one angry review, because I usually hate those reviews. But I have never had a worse experience and really hope this never happens to anyone else.
I came in, she didn’t even know what I was there for. After she asked me to undress for a facial she said «I swear I’m not usually this flighty…»
The rest went okay until I left, she of course tried to sell me product, the same thing she used in my treatment. Thank god I didn’t purchase it, because my entire face (usually tame and clear, this was just supposed to be a lux treatment, a present to myself) is now rough, red and bumpy all the way down to my neck.
What’s worse is that I called to try to get a follow up appointment and once I told her what happened she hung up on me! I thought we had been disconnected, but I tried calling her back and she ignored my calls, picked up and put the phone down and I could hear her talk about me, and hung up on me numerous times. Even my boyfriend called (he’s super quiet and sweet, would never hurt a fly) and she hung up on him, too!
After not hearing back still, I hoped it would go away and was just a flair up. The next day it was worse and after talking to my dr. and a dermatologist, I ended up spending Monday in the ER! The dr. said she basically «poisoned my face.»
³⁄₅ update: SF Gate deals has been amazing through this whole thing and provided a refund. Liane has still yet to even apologize.
She caused me to miss work and acquire medical bills.
Liane has threatened each bad review she’s gotten (the people have messaged each other about her harassment). I have retained a lawyer because she has not let the situation that SHE messed up, rest.
this has hands down been the worst (non-​death related) experience i’ve dealt with in my life.
DO NOT GO TO LIANE. Is it worth the risk?

+ 5 more stars. My friend has been going to Liane for over 10 years and she looks 10 years younger than she is. I have bad cystic acne and Liane has really helped solve my skin problems. She has worked for months on individualized skincare régime for me that has perfected my skin. She is constantly taking classes and studying up on the latest treatments for skin. Each time I go to her for a facial I come home and all my wrinkles are gone.

Liane is AMAZING!
She has a magical touch that has helped transform my problem skin. She creates individualized treatments, and the sessions are always a delight. I’ve been several times (its true — I’m a complete convert!) and she has always spent a generous amount of time with me, and I always leave feeling pampered and with glowing skin!
I’ve experienced other facials before, but Liane was the first person who really worked with my skin to heal it instead of using a prescribed «facial». Her incredible knowledge and natural gift combine to make any treatment a divine experience. I can’t recommend her enough.

I have been seeing Liane for years and she is the best aesthetician I have ever been to! I moved out of state for a few years and searched high and low for a Liane but never found anyone who even compared. She is so incredibly knowledgeable and good at what she does. She never fails to amaze me! She is gentle yet very very effective and the products she recommends for my skin are amazing (and natural which I love)! Liane makes every visit special with her cozy environment and wonderful treatments. I always leave feeling so relaxed and glowing! She truly cares about her clients and even emails you to check on your skin. I would recommend Liane to anyone. She is truly one of a kind!

I’ve been a loyal client of Liane’s for so many years I can’t even remember when my skin and I began our long and happy (might I add beautiful?) relationship with her. Before a friend recommended Liane, I had visited every swank aesthetician in SF and also in NY, where I used to live. You may find a salon with a more luxurious ambience or really really fancy terry cloth robes, but is that what your skin needs? When it comes to the treatments, Liane is simply the BEST. I can’t even believe that these Unilocal reviews begin with a banner saying, «You might also consider.. . » If you know what’s good for your skin, you will go directly to Liane without wasting time and money checking out other possibilities. In my mind, there are no other possibilities, as no one is as talented, caring, and professional as Liane. My skin is terrific now, but in past years she has seen me through the ups and downs of rosacea and other difficulties with totally individualized care. I also have her tint my lashes and brows, and her wax treatments for any part of your body that looks or feels fuzzy are superb. I’m always too busy, but I am dreaming of an hour of foot reflexology with her. Liane’s approach is holistic, and her talents are multiple as well. if you don’t fall into a delicious, pampered doze while she works her magic, you’ll enjoy her smart conversation along with the treatment. Run, do not walk, to your first treatment with Liane.

I have had so many facials and been to so many different people and always left confused and not quit believing all the stuff I just purchased was actually helping. THEN I FOUND LIANE… sigh of relief. My skin has never looked so good. I had honestly given up and thought I would always have bad skin, but NO! Everything she says makes sense, The products I have purchased make sense and actually feel good putting them on. She is without a doubt my skin care guru. I have never met someone with so much knowledge and care about skin. Getting a facial is fun with her too, one can be quiet or chat and laugh. She is without a doubt the best, I can guarantee you that your search for skin care will be over.
