Link Partners

What a bizarre and somewhat interesting company Link Partners turned out to be. I remember meeting Matthew and our interview. He gave me some tips for interviewing that probably ended up working against me such as «If you don’t have any weaknesses, then just say so or if you have no questions after an interview, no problem!»
Paychecks seemed to be a big issue for these guys as well. The first paycheck took 2 weeks to arrive and it was handwritten. The second one never came and Matthew had to deliver it himself.
I went on interviews and there were times when Matthew seemed to forget to follow up with me on the status of them. Communication was certainly an issue at times.
I do give credit to Matthew for listening to what I wanted in a job and also being a friendly person. Now it seems Link Partners is gone. Their website is still there and has been «Under Construction» since I first started with them in September 2010.
RIP Link Partners

After moving to SF from LA with my husband, I found myself continuously searching for a job, and getting nowhere. I decided to inquire with a few agencies in the city to see about my luck. After a quick Google search, I found three agencies to contact and submit my resume to. One company never contacted me back. One didn’t want to consider me for full-​time work, even though that is what I expressed. (After pressing the subject during my interview, I was transferred over like a toy on an assembly line, to a full-​time recruiter, who took very little time with me and made me feel small.) The final company, Link Partners, did what the other two failed to do.
Like previous reviews, Matthew did go over my resume with me; however, he did so much more. He listened intently to what I wanted and took it all into consideration. He showed a positive interest in me and my experience, regardless of any bells and whistles attached to my previous positions. I was able to be myself, and receive an education on how to write a resume, as well as what positions he could possibly submit me for. He was honest and upfront. He NEVER said he would follow up with me (in fact he asked me to contact him to follow up). He also NEVER led me to believe the positions he had with companies would be mine, or that I would have another interview soon. I was made aware of the process, and appreciated the simple fact-​of-​the-​matter approach.
Matthew saw me through until the end of the job process. I was in a new, full-​time position before I even heard anything from the other agency.
I understand that the market is difficult, but I had faith that Matthew was on my side, and that eventually something would turn up that was a perfect match, because he took the time to understand my personality and desires. The best part of the experience (besides the job), was meeting someone who I could easily tell truly enjoyed his job and helping connect people with full-​time positions.

i have NEVER been made to feel so welcome. ok, let me back up. my outstanding experience started right at the front end with their office manager annalisa. she is the picture of professional, helpful, personable and right on top of it. i called her thursday afternoon and she got me in me in by with an interview by friday.
my interview was with mathew who was charming, professional, personable and very sharp. he assessed my skill set with grace and ease. we spoke about employment in my field, my transferable skills and tailoring my resume. i left uplifted as well as inspired.
linked partners is the kind of company i want to do business with. i could go on and on and on about how happy i am but i think you have the picture.

No response, no communications. I know the economy is bad, but come on. At least have the decency to follow up or respond after the initial meeting (essentially what everyone else said– they just go over your resume quickly). Most of that can be done over the phone or online .
I ended up finding a job elsewhere with a more responsive and respectful company. Save your BART/​Caltrain fare.

I worked in an open office environment with Matthew for six years and can say first hand that he is one of the most dedicated, hard-​working recruiters you will ever meet. He is driven to get as many of his candidates jobs as humanly possible and is very successful in doing so on very a consistent basis. With 10 plus years of experience, he has proven his success time and time again. Matthew has a good sense of humor, loves helping people, and a ton of insight into the job market, interviewing, and editing resumes. No recruiter in the world can help everyone land a job, but few will try harder than Matthew every single day.

I completely and totally believe that the «job» I applied for never existed as it was never even mentioned.
I called twice to follow up and… nothing.
He never once called ME to follow up.
I would rather shove a pencil through my eardrum and swirl it around my brain, than deal with these tools again.
The only highlight to this experience is that, while eating lunch. I got to see a homeless guy dressed as a pirate. ARGH !
I would like the 15 bucks for the ferry and the two hours of my life I wasted, back please !

As Poe the band would say — Hello hello — are you out there? Crickets. If you can’t find a position for a person or don’t think they would be a good fit, please communicate. Not responding is very unprofessional.

I’ve worked with Kasi Sheridan twice in the past two years. Both times have been extremely positive and successful experiences. Kasi doesn’t just float your resumes to prospective employers in hopes they’ll pick one. Not only does she really listen to what you want from a future employer, but she understands what the best fit in terms of culture and personality are. I have recommended Kasi and Link Partners to any friend looking for new employment because I know she’ll take care of them.

When I relocated to California last summer and was looking for work, Link Partners was a dream come true. Matthew did an amazing job of placing me at a company that is a perfect fit. He went above and beyond to prep me and teach me about the company culture so that when it came to interview, I nailed it! Working with Matthew was a true partnership.

I love Kasi. She is so personal and very helpful. I have never worked with someone who cares about their candidate as much as she does. I was very impressed with my first interview. She met me at a coffee shop and prepped me for the interview. Gave me a magazine to keep my mind from wandering about how the interview would go. Let me tell you, this helped alot! I have never had someone do this for me. She is perfect!

A new job opening was posted on Craigslist on ³⁄₂₆. While it was rather vague, it sounded interesting nonetheless and I responded by sending a cover letter and resume three days later. That same day, I get a call from Kasi at Link Partners saying she received my resume and wanted to meet a couple days later. She was very vague in our conversation and didn’t reference the job opening. She said she would send me an e-​mail confirming the meeting so I figured I would be able to figure out which job it was for when I looked at her v-​card signature. When I received her e-​mail, I realized that she was an outside recruiter and I still had no idea which job I was interviewing for. I responded right away asking Kasi for clarification so that I’m adequately prepared for our meeting. Radio silence on her end. I send her another e-​mail the next day as a follow-​up and again get no response. That night, the day before our meeting, I go on Link Partner’s website and look at their current openings. I see that the position which I applied for was listed on their website and was not only listed for $ 5K less than what was posted on Craigslist but that it was already filled! So basically Kasi and Link Partners posted a bogus job opening on Craigslist as a way of fishing for resumes. I e-​mailed Kasi back and said that it looked like the position had been filled. I suggested that we cancel our meeting for the next day because none of the available jobs interested me or were a fit for my professional background. I told her that I was happy to discuss the parameters of my job search over the phone and meet at a later date if a job that was a good match became available. Again, radio silence. The meeting was scheduled for yesterday afternoon and I still haven’t heard from Kasi.
I am a really strong candidate with long-​standing relationships with other reputable recruiting agencies. I am serious about my job search and would have happily considered working with Link Partners. However, I was offended that I took the time to write a thoughtful cover letter for a job that didn’t even exist. I was more offended that Kasi never responded to my e-​mails. Word of advice to recruiters: DO NOT POST BOGUS JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS ON CRAIGSLIST AS A MEANS OF COLLECTING NEW RESUMES. It’s a waste of the candidate’s time and I’ve found that I never hear from these recruiters again (after I’m «plugged into their database»).
I see that Link Partners is a new agency that says that they focus on building «lasting relationships.» My experience with them was the complete opposite and I felt that Kasi’s failure to respond to my three e-​mails was completely unprofessional. I’m going to stick with the recruiting agencies and recruiters that I know and trust.

Kasi and Michael quickly placed me in an entry-​level position at a legal firm two weeks after I met Michael at an orientation for San Francisco State University’s Paralegal program. I was searching for employment for months in between writing contracts as a freelance journalist/​writer.
I’m very grateful as the firm they placed me in, so far feels like a great fit and I’m making myself useful administratively and public relations-​wise.
