They only had pork lumpia when i checked them out but it was pretty good though. maybe next time, i’ll be lucky and get to try some of the other flavors of Lumpia. The lumpia cart has been on my hitlist for a while and i unexpectedly found it and was pleasantly surprised when I really came to Fabric8 for the Crème Brulee Cart. gotta love these congregation of street carts in one place.

I was one of the last people at the Moxie event a few weeks ago to score lumpia. Lumpia was pretty tasty and Lumpia Cart’s got a good concept going.

Like the Fergie song«can you meet me half way?» Like San Jose or even Fremont? Since Santa Cruz has super strict food restrictions I have to go to San Jose for my foodie cart needs… Yesterday they only had the pork lumpia available but it was sure tasty! 5 bucks got us a container of 8 little crispy fried noms. Another food cart checked off my list!

Found out that LumpiaCart is going to be at Moxsie Palo Alto on Friday, coincidentally I had a drs appt up there that day also. I rearranged the time and ended up being able to go to get my grub on. Shanghai Lumpia, pork, $ 5 for 8 with a side of the chili sweet/sour sauce. So bomb. Comes out hot and crisp out of the hot oil. Totally worth it. I do agree with vicky t. can you meet us halfway? I know alot of guys and gals dying to try it.

Lumpia Cart is the only cart in San Francisco that offers 3 courses: 1) Appetizer: lumpia 2) Main entrée: lumpia 3) Dessert: turon(lumpia but with banana and jackfruit inside) 4 stars because they don’t always have ube ice cream. What? Is having a huge mobile freezer connected to a loud, expensive, generator too much to ask???

You guys are really sweet, but… Okay, granted, I only had the Lumpia Shanghai. It was average… They were tiny and the bottled banana sauce took over the flavor of the lumpia. So I tried the lumpia by itself and it was still«Meh». I did like that it was a bit on the spicy side… but that was it. A bit over-priced…You think I could go to any Filipino restaurant in DC and get more for less?

Such a fun idea! Third stop on the dish crawl was the lumpia cart in Mission. We first tried the pork lumpia. It was around 9:00pm and we were definitely freezing out a$$e$ off, so the piping hot deep fried pork lumpias were a welcoming couple of bites. My friend wished that it was spicy, but I think there is a sauce that comes with it that we just didn’t get. We also tried the banana lumpia which were much larger than the ity bity pork ones. This one was also served piping hot, right out of the fryer and drizzled with nutella and purple yam(taro?) ice cream. Overall, a very tasty treat. I don’t live in San Francisco, but I’d encourage locals to stalk them on twitter and seek them out!

Let’s just say everything fried is always good. The bf bought some lumpias and something else I guess they just started, friend bananas. Total was $ 9.50 for both the friend bananas and lumpias but because the bf ordered, I’m not sure what was the cost of each. The lumpias were good. The meat inside was nice and juicy and it was fried right in front of you. Though I must say the price is pretty steep for some freshly fried lumpias. It came with about 5 – 6 pieces and a side of sauce. I think the sauce is the bottled sauce that you can buy at most asian markets to dip fried things to eat with. I’m assuming the fried bananas were recent add but I can pass on it. I don’t know what type of banana it was but maybe because I’m used to the thai fried bananas where its bigger thicker and juicer. So Lumpia Cart’s version came with two deep friend bananas and ube ice cream, which wasn’t homemade and a sprinkle of powdered sugar and something new and interesting, nutella. I like nutella so it was something i’ve never had with fried bananas. I really did like the lumpias, however it did almost cost about $ 1 a lumpia. So for the price, I’m not too sure I would go back.

Lumpia shanghais are just one of those foods that I can eat til I explode and the Lumpia Cart is somewhere that I can get them from. No doubt, they serve some of the best Shanghai I have ever had. I apologize to all my friend’s moms whom I’ve had hundreds of lumpia from. Sorry, I think I might have lost some of my lumpia privileges at my friends’ houses with that last statement…

Hey Lumpia Man, Your Nanay and Lola should be soooo proud of you. I had a toron with macapuno ice cream. That lumpia was so crispy and the banana or plantain was nice and steamy. Biting into that sweet jackfruit was a really nice surprise. Was the ice cream from Mitchell’s? Wherever it came from, the creaminess and the texture of the young coconut in the ice cream compliment that crunchy toron. I’ll be stalking you soon…

Definitely some of the best lumpias I’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly seasoned and the outside was fried to a nice golden brown,. For $ 4, you get 6 lumpias plus a cup of sweet and sour sauce. I personally think they tasted better without the sauce, which is why it’s great that they didn’t just throw everything together in the same container. To sum it up, these were tasty street eats that are definitely worth a try!

I meant to write this review last year, but just plain forgot. Lumpia Cart is one of the few street vendors roaming the streets of SF selling filipino food(like Adobo Hobo, Sinigang SF, and Adobo Rollo). And only the 2nd street vendor that uses a deep fryer. Must be difficult hauling a pot full of burning hot oil afterwards. You get 6 lumpias for $ 4, with a serving of sweet and sour sauce. Well made — hot, crispy, and it tasted good. Very friendly service. Get updates via Twitter.

These guys are so personable. So willing to help out their customers. First had them at Little Skillet’s «Outside In.» While they were setting up they took orders from people waiting in line. That let us travel to other carts to get other food and come back when the lumpias were ready. 6 lumpias for $ 4. Not bad. Sooo yummy. Fried with tons of flavor! I want more! I could eat them all day. check out their twitter: to see where they’ll be next, you won’t regret it.

So I went to the Little Skillet Outside in event last night. and the first aroma that drew me in were the lumpias. My friend and shared an order, because I fully intended to try as many vendors as I can possibly fit into my tummy. At the end of the night… I decided that the best thing I had all night were those lumpias – perfectly deep fried. and DELICIOUS!!! I will be tracking them down again real soon.

Nice to see Filipino food being represented in the street cart craze. Shanghai lumpia and veggie lumpia deep fried on the spot for your pleasure. What more do I have to say? Oh, yes, they tasted good(not as good as my grandmother’s, but you know how that goes). Hope to catch you guys again soon. Oh, if you guys start selling fresh lumpia, I’ll give you five stars!

These reviews are part of a series where my Vancouverite friend wanted to try a bunch of food carts all weekend. We ended up deviating to some other cheap eats. The contestants: Lers Ros Thai, Fritzj, Adobo Hobo, Pizza Hacker, Gumbo Cart, Lumpia Cart, Bi-Rite Creamery, El Farolito, Bacon Dog Cart, Phở Garden, Zante’s Indian Pizza This review is about the Lumpia Cart. Lumpia man was at the Precito Park outdoor theatre this past weekend. Twitter was used to track down current locations. We barely made it to Bernal heights in time before the carts disbanded. We sampled every cart except this tortilla cart while we were there. I have never had lumpia before but it was really good. Lumpias are like small tiny eggrolls. You also get two sauces to pick from, one which is similar to sweet and sour sauce and one which is like a spicy vinegar. I liked both of them. Though the lumpias weren’t straight out of the fryer, they were still warm and crispy. I have no idea how the lumpias were kept so crispety and crunchety in the aluminum tin. You get 6 small lumpias for $ 3 which is perfect for a snack but hard to make into a meal. The guy is super nice and informative though. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Went to the debut of the Lumpia Cart tonight at Mission Pool. They had veggie lumpias at 4 for $ 5.00. Hot out of the fryer they were crispy and well seasoned. What more could you need from a lumpia?
