Lynne Rutter Murals and Decorative Painting

My wife and I saw a house we liked and hired a different colorist to help us apply the palate to our home. The process didn’t work at all and it was so bad that we decided to do it ourselves. It didn’t take long for the anxiety over which colors to choose and where to put them became too much and we were calling Lynn to bail us out.
Lynn litterally saved the day and calmed our fears when she came over to the house on short notice and explained with deep expertise the impact of applying colors and shades to the many various trim features of a victorian home. She created a palate based on what we liked and offered a few options that all worked well together. She chose a few colors I would never have guessed would look good with the palate and it turned out amazing.
Lynn created a map showing exactly which colors should be applied where on the house, greatly improving communicate with the painters and ultimately making for a very smooth process. It was so surprising to me to see how different they look and much the colors change, when they are actually applied to the house. The color they sit next to might be the biggest factor. We adjusted slightly in a few areas when making final decisions with the painter, and Lynn was very responsive to follow-​up questions and confirmations.

Lynne Rutter has the most amazing knack for color and will help you turn your vision into reality. She was able to work with me and find and entire color palate that fit us perfectly. She is also amazingly affordable and down right fabulous to work with. Her mural work is also amazing.

I was lucky enough to have Lynne Rutter do custom Fortuny-​style stencil work on my silk velvet Poiret-​like cocoon coat for my rehearsal dinner ensemble. Though more known for her work on interiors/​exteriors/​furniture, she did an amazing job; custom designing & sizing the stencils to the proper proportion for the coat, cutting & then actualizing the design in various tones of metallic paint. I’ve heard stenciling on silk velvet is no picnic, but her results were just jaw-​droppingly stunning. I was awash in a sea of compliments (and also for the coat’s couture designer Kathleen Crowley).

Her schedule is always packed as she is in high demand around the country. If you’ve got a project and want the best, patience is a virtue. She will not disappoint.
