The busier I am, the more things I do myself at home: I cook, clean, workout and now again, I color my hair.
Different than any other box color I’ve used, Madison Reed’s is free of ammonia, peroxide or any of those other eye-​stinging chemicals that make your hair look flat, dull and feel spongy.
The packaging is visually stunning it greats you with the positive affirmation, «Hello beautiful» so you feel pampered for the experience before you break out the goods.
Besides the color, the kit gives you two sets of gloves, shampoo/​conditioner and color block in case you paint your ear or forehead (as I seem to clumsily do).
(And color lifting towelettes to remove what you didn’t accomplish with the color block– yes!)
The color itself is simplicity to mix and smells wonderful. Madison Reed is definitely the next generation in hair color with a keratin and argan oil-​based color that makes your hair feel thicker (for us fine-​haired girls) and super glossy and soft with gorgeous multidimensional color.
If you’re undecided on which color to choose or feel you’re in between shades, you can talk to a colorist and describe what you’re looking for or simply upload a photo of yourself or a photo of someone whose hair color you want to rock.
Put yourself on a fulfillment schedule and the cost is even better. You’ll receive an email two weeks before they ship so you can request different product or move back the shipment– or speed it up.
Root touch up powder they swear won’t budge ’til you shampoo it out (I’m not there– yet– but it’s nice to know that’s an option), color and clear glosses that are demi-​permanent (2 – 4 weeks, depending on how much you shampoo), and other treatment products like shampoos and leave-​in conditioners, they have an impressive product line.
My tip is to buy the mixing bowl & brush for ease of application and a professional result. They often have offers for free shipping or a free gift like the brush/​bowl set so scout their site or

I was dying to have my hair dyed (no pun intended) as I have not colored it in a few years. I wanted to dye it just one color but didn’t want it to look flat. I tried Bolzano Brown and I LOVE IT! My hair even looks healthier than before and I’m already looking forward to touching it up when it grows out, lol!
I definitely need to take time to check out their other products. So in love with this brand now.

I’ve really, REALLY tried to love this product. Honestly! I’ve given it a year thinking I was doing something wrong and following the instructions to a T. I’m a little dense that way.
Let me back up — I very much appreciate MR’s attempt at low chemical content. But after coloring, my dark brown hair comes out a lot darker than my natural color! And the color takes days to wash off my scalp. The color is mono tone and looks flat, with not dimension. And the texture of my hair — it feels rough, like it’s a bit tangled.
My two cents fwiw.

Root Touch up is perfect, have recommended to others and they are happy too. Now looking for a salon to do my whole hair because a salon ruined my color. I moved to a new area, brought my formula. They said they could duplicate it and it came out awful, Gave them second chance, they blew it again. NOT going back.

I called for an appointment, they were closed saying to call back. I went online to look at price to buy color and see what all the hype is about all over my computer. One tube is $ 25.00, plus shipping, while PPD Free «NaYo» brand hair color is only $ 6.00 online, Na yo has been around a lot longer than this company. MR charges $ 25.00 for the same thing. In addition, there are a lot of other color lines that are totally PPD Free, that are ½ the price, 2/​3rds or less of the price and have been around for over 10 years. So this is NOT a New INNOVATION. This company is JUST Copy Cating and playing on fears. They spend ALOT on ADVERTISING.

The product is awesome and very well-​presented. The reason I order it are the chemical-​free, or non-​toxic reasons. However, shipping is extremelllyyyyyy slowwwww. I ordered 10 days ago and still hasn’t arrived. Wish they had it on Amazon, I’d get it via Prime in 2 days. So, I started using a different brand from Whole Foods instead, I can’t wait 2 weeks for a package, and I’m in California, I’m surprised it takes so long. Bummer!

This product is amazing. I wanted to do an all over color with good quality dye and after finding out about Madison Reed, I decided to order some dye. The product comes with very easy to use instructions and they include everything you could possibly need in the box. Plus, they upgraded my shampoo to a full 8 oz. size, which was so sweet!
I dyed my hair last night with a cool ash brown color and I love how it turned out! Using this product made me feel very confident that the color would turn out well because every step and supply is laid out for you. I will definitely be using Madison Reed again.

this turned my golden blonde hair a horrific shade of ash blonde/​gray. They are so concerned with coloring over gray that they have no instructions for coloring already colored hair. As others have posted, not for blondes.

Be careful if you have lighter hair. I had to have my hair professionally color corrected after using it and I’ve been a DIY person for a long time. If you’ve got dark hair it seems ok. The shampoo & conditioner smell really good.

Madison Reed hair color is just wonderful. I not only think that the product itself is quality along with the delicious shampoo and conditioner, but the employees have integrity and exude pride in the product and company. If you want Salon quality color at a more affordable rate then this is the solution. They are innovators in the beauty industry and constantly strive to do better and create more affordable products with the highest quality. My hair not only looks great but I feel great with such stunning color.

I went in to be a hair model last Saturday and had the best experience ever. The Madison Reed team that I met (including the hairstylist, Joy) was amazing — friendly, helpful and positive. My hair looks beautiful as well. Joy used the Napoli Brown and Miele on me. My hair is super soft, shiny and the color is everything I hoped for. I have since signed up to be an on-​going customer :-)

Beware of this product if you have light colored hair. I should have noticed all the pictures I saw were darker colors. If ordering definitely do a color test first. The good thing is they did a follow up call to try to rectify it. If nothing else they have great customer service. Stay tuned
