Those who know Maya, see that she’s woman if many talents: a compelling sex-​positive Psychotherapist, a playful mother of two boys, and a passioante performer and director of a flourishing dance theater performance group in SF.

It is Maya’s passion, playfulness and her solid marriage to her husband of 13 years that inspire many to work with Maya. She is committed in assisting others in developing richness in their lives through deep excavations into how you operate and what limits you from your potential.

Maya has been working with individuals and couples for the last 10 years throughout the bay area and is a therapist with The Couples Center and the Relationship Counseling Center specializing in intimacy for Couples. Maya is currently finishing her training in the Hakomi method of Somatic Psychotherapy and incorporate experiential aspects to her work.

Maya is truly INVALUABLE!!!
I have fully enjoyed working with Maya as a therapist. She has helped me soooo much this past year, I’m eternally grateful. She is a very caring and nurturing spirit who through her genuine interest and attentiveness is helping me navigate through this complicated life. She is open, honest and without judgement. This review is long overdue.
Me and my wife had been going through a very rocky patch for a while and it seemed as though our marriage was on the outs. When we discovered that she was pregnant in August of 2013 we decided that we had to get our situation figured out and that we should begin couples therapy.
I can honestly that Maya helped save our marriage. When we started seeing her we were ready to divorce. Now when we go in things have gotten so good between us that we find little to complain about because things have gotten so good now. She brought us from a stage of near destruction in our relationship to a stage of rekindled love and a life of happiness together.
I have nothing but good things to say about Maya.

My husband and I needed to reconnect and learn how to thoughtfully communicate our needs to each other again. No one teaches you how to be married but finding the right support can certainly put you back on track by being stronger and wiser. Maya most certainly helped us have the hard conversations but feel comfortable being open and honest with each other. Insightful and just what we were looking for!
My husband and I are newly weds. We wanted to start our first year of marriage learning specific communication tools to grow our marriage into a long lasting union.
Maya helped us do just that. She listened to our needs as a couple and really taught us the tools to help us identify our feelings and then communicate them effectively for our personal needs.

Maya is a truly caring therapist. I feel like I am treated like a human being, as opposed to a «patient,» when I am with her. She is super compassionate, but has not been afraid to challenge me either. In terms of practical techniques, Maya has used some mindfulness and somatic-​type techniques in my therapy, which have been particularly helpful in deepening «the work.»
I have experienced Maya to be a very open-​minded clinician with a huge heart, who can empathize with the darkness but also see the light in any situation. Maya is also just a really amazing, down-​to-​earth, supportive person to meet with every week, and I feel really lucky to have found Maya’s practice.

Maya Lane has been a continual source of strength and compassion for me. Above all, I am indebted to Maya for helping me make peace with my mind’s critical voice. I think most people would agree in the difficulty of admitting personal fears and weaknesses. It didn’t take long for me to feel comfortable and trusting of her insight and wisdom.
