Michael Hargrove competed an extension onto the back of our house, adding a bedroom for our girls. The work required a new two story retaining wall and lots of excavation from a very difficult to reach area. Michael also replace windows in our dinning room, fixed a nasty leak in a hallway, rebuilt our deck and installed a new water heating system. Michael is a problem solver, and I really enjoyed watching him figure out how to approach a challenge. We lived in the house while the work was underway, and Michael and his crew were very respectful of our needs and privacy. Michael was very organized and there was very little time wasted during the construction. Now the project is complete we are very happy with the cost, quality and outcome. I’d choose Michael for any construction project I have in the future and now consider him a good friend.

I just read what Stuart L. wrote and wanted to add similar comments. We contracted(and completed work in May 2011) with Mike Hargrove to add a bedroom, bath and laundry area to our home, but this required excavation. We interviewed several contractors and architects, but they could not see the vision we had for our remodel. We have a 1920’s traditional house and the others wanted to change the interior style. Mike understood the look we were going for and together with his colleague architect designed a seamless addition to our home. Mike is a carpenter at heart and ensured our moldings, hardwood doors etc. would match the original design of the home. As many remodels proceed, you start with one project and then another emerges. Mike was wonderful at adjusting the plans and adding just one more item to our«list.» His subs were also good to work with and have been in the trades for many years. Additionally, Mike had to work around us still living in the home which had extra scheduling challenges. It says a lot if you are still speaking to your contractor at the end of a project! We are speaking and are friends! And yes, he still comes by to fix/adjust what you need after the job is done.

Michael was referred to us by a friend who raved about his work. We contracted Michael to build a ground floor extension to our house, that included a new kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room, over about 700 sq ft. Michael was the lowest price bid we received and completed the 7 month job on time and right on budget. Apart from this being a fantastic result, we never had any disagreement or issue during that time, and the quality of his work was outstanding. Even now long after the work was completed Michael will still come round and fix minor issues, like a sliding door off its track. We could not recommend Michael more highly, whether you have a small job or are undertaking a major remodel or reconstruction.
