We specialize in all forms of ballroom dance from Cha Cha to Waltz. Whether you wish to learn to dance for the occasional business function or wish to become a ballroom competitor, we create programs based on your specific dance goals. We work with singles, couples as well as working with soon to be married couples on their first dance.

Business Owner

Michael Eric and Chelsea combined have over 22 years of dance experience and have had the privilege of working with some of the ballroom communities finest coaches.

Michael and Chelsea were invited to teach the 2008 summer intensive at the Sacramento Ballet. In addition they have also taught master workshops for the California State University Fullerton’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Michael and Chelsea have also had the privilege dancing professional show-​dances for Olympic Figure Skater and Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi in both 2009 and 2010 for her charity events. Michael and Chelsea recently just starred in the World Première of «It Takes Two to Tango», a ballet and ballroom collaboration with Man Dance Ballet Company at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Michael and Chelsea were recently awarded the title of Rising Star American Smooth Champions at the 2010 Desert Dance Classic in Palm Desert.

We decided to give dance lessons a chance before our wedding and contacted Chelsea. She was very accommodating on a short notice, her prices were great and we had a great time learning how to dance with her! You can really feel her experience with wedding couples, we just wanted to spice it up a little and she was really helpful. Highly recommended!

If you’re getting married and the thought of dancing in front of your friends and family has you heading for the hills, run don’t walk to Chelsea. In just two short lessons, we already feel so much more at ease about the whole first dance. She listened to our song and recommended an appropriate dance. We started with an easy rumba box step and by the end of the second lesson we already had a turn, a dip and some other fanciness down pat. She is very patient, totally lighthearted and an absolute doll. Trust me, this is one of the best investments you’ll make related to your wedding. Give yourself time — call her 6 – 8 weeks before the wedding. As a total bonus, dancing with your fiancé is super romantic. We were holding hands like teenagers. SO much fun!

My groom and I wanted to take our first dance up a notch, as in, how could we make it spectacular? Having rolled his (hungry) eyes, effectively turning down renditions from «Dirty Dancing» (yes, I love it so what are you going to do about it) and even «Grease», he somehow agreed to a choreographed tango.
Enter Chelsea, a statuesque star in her own right. She not only teaches, but still actively competes – in pretty stunning ballroom gowns I might add – with her partner, Eric. Her teaching style is fun, super encouraging and patient. Let her incorporate drama into your number because that’s how she do. She took my groom from having two ambling left feet to ten torrid tango toes. And we live to tell the story. Now if we could only become B-​list actors so that I could live out my dream on Dancing With The Stars.

Chelsea was our instructor for our first dance. My then fiancé and I both had never danced before and we were really stiff. Chelsea was really, really patient with us and she made us both feel completely at ease. We looked forward to each class because Chelsea made it really fun and relaxing for us. A really, really great dance instructor! Highly recommended!

Love, love, love Chelsea! Chelsea choreographed our first dance and our super secret second dance as well. She had five lessons to make us look good and we learned an amazing swing dance as well as quick step. She is easy to work with, good at coaching, laughs a lot, and really listens to her students input as well. I wish I had the money to take private lessons all the time. Eric made a special appearance from time to time and was wonderful on helping us with technique. They are a dynamic duo and I hope I get to work with them again.
Oh, and we nailed both dances, but don’t look for them on youtube!

Chelsea was our dance instructor for our first dance. I immediately loved her attitude when I emailed her about 4 weeks before our big day, I was sure that we wouldn’t have enough time to prep for our first dance but right off the bat Chelsea said «don’t worry, we can get you ready in a week.»
Not only was she a pleasure to dance with she had a super flexible schedule. My now husband and I are both super busy and we found her very accommodating. She is fun and funny and a pretty good deal for 5 private lessons. She was even able to teach my husband a couple steps who has 2 left feet! Oh and she’s also realistic about what you’re able to learn in 5 lessons, which isn’t exactly a dancing with the stars performance. Chelsea is the best!

My husband and I have been taking social ballroom dance classes with Chelsea and Eric at the Block Party Dance Studio on Monday evenings. We cannot say enough positive things about the class and about Chelsea and Eric. The class is such a blast and so much fun. They teach a different dance each week (taught so far: Rumba, Tango, and Cha-​cha). We look forward to every Monday evening to learn a new dance style or new dance patterns to add to what we already know.
Eric and Chelsea are gorgeous dancers and gorgeous people. If you’ve never watched them dance, search them on Youtube because they are absolutely mesmerizing. Their teaching style is effective and fun. They break each dance pattern down so that it is easy to learn and understand. I love their clever analogies and tips they use to help us remember steps or to improve our technique (our favorite is «Behold the magic L!»).
We highly highly recommend anyone, with or without dance experience, to take Chelsea and Eric’s social ballroom dance class at the Block Party (or anywhere else they are teaching). They are such wonderful and sweet people who will make you fall in love with ballroom dancing!

Chelsea and Eric are phenomenal dancers and teachers. They taught a few master classes at my college, and I had so much fun learning from them. Not only are they a stunning pair to watch, they have a real gift for teaching. On top of all that, they are very down to earth and friendly, so everyone can relax and have fun.

I’ve had the privilege to take many lessons from Eric (over 3 years) and have always been impressed with his professionalism. Eric and Chelsea are easy to work with and pleasant to be around. I’ve seen Eric and Chelsea work with students a variety of ages with grace and ease. They make their students feel welcome and comfortable learning something new and challenging.
I’ve also been lucky enough to watch them dance from an early point in their partnership and am continually impressed with their growth every time I see them. I appreciate teachers that are constantly learning and pushing themselves to grow because they have a better understanding of what you are working on and are current on not only the style of dance, but also the techniques to teach them to others. These two are worth every penny and a joy to watch!

Eric is the main reason my wife and I have continued to take dance classes. Eric makes the classes fun and easy to understand. The pace of the class is great even for someone like me who has no natural rhythm.
We have tried other dance schools (including a famous Dancing w/​the Stars school) and have been sorely disappointed. But Eric keeps us coming back. Thanks Eric!
