I never thought of Pie as a BLESSING until I met the Miz Lynn team and their incredible pies at the San Carlos thursday night farmers’ market. Looks, tastes too god and the team is too friendly to pass up.

Wow! Oh man. So good!
OK, let me back up. When I was a little kid, I used to buy these little Bama pecan pies at the local U Tote ‘Em (old school version of 7 – 11 in Texas). They were really delicious despite the fact that the jumbo pecans looked like cockroaches. Today at the San Mateo Farmers’ Market, I had some time to kill while I waited for a sandwich order to get made, so I strolled around. Lo and behold, I came across a small booth with two of the friendliest guys ever and an assortment of large and small pies. Immediately, my eyes were drawn to the small pecan pies which had that nostalgic Bama look. SOLD!
Now I’m sitting here finishing up a BBQ sandwich and following it up with one of the most delicious little pecan pies I’ve ever had! So good that it will eradicate the Bama nostalgia. The crust is flaky and buttery with a tiny bit of crunch. The pecans and the filling are a tiny bit savory and a tiny bit sweet, but not too much of either. A perfect balance! I kind of wish I had a scoop of vanilla ice cream to put on it, but it’s great anyway!
I can’t wait until next weekend to come back and try some of the other flavors!

Great pies and a kind owner! I usually don’t like lemon pies with their cloying sweetness, but the lemon chess pie I bought at the San Carlos Farmer’s Market was amazing. I may be addicted…

We were lucky enough to stumble upon Miz Lynn’s Pies while on a weekend day trip to Half Moon Bay at the Harbor Point Farmers market. It was late in the afternoon and Ernest (a very nice and obviously blessed man) was down to only two 8 inch sweet potato pies and one mini-​lemon pie. We took home one of each. Both were delicious, full of soul and delicate flavors. You may have to search out Miz Lynn’s Pies to find out which Farmers Market they are selling at, but it will be well worth the effort, once you find them, go early before they are sold out and for a better selection.

You can’t bottle love — but you can definitely taste it — when it comes to food.

Ernest East the personable and endearingly sweet owner of Miz Lynn’s Pies has perfected his sweet potato pie to a truly impressive foodie science. Ernest has been making pies — since before pie was titled «cool» again (though we all know that pie has always been what’s up). Ernest doesn’t get all fancy and elaborate with his pies. He keeps them simple — but that’s where the real elegance lies — in his simple, but phenomenal pies.
And if a big whole pie scares your stomach — and waist-​line — be sure to check out his miniature pies — which are the perfect pick-​me up for the week.

We ordered 75 of miz lynn’s 4″ pies (lemon chess, pecan, sweet potato) as favors for our wedding at the end of Feb 2012. They were a hit! Ernest delivered them the morning prior to the wedding (as requested) frozen– which was perfect since we needed to wrap them– AND gave us a full sized strawberry & lemon pie as a wedding gift!
I highly recommend Miz Lynn’s Pies. The customer service is wonderful. Ernest is a friendly, awsome person. They are very flexible and easy to work with. When we first discovered his company, through a friend who found him online, I was a little hesitant. When I called, he offered to bring over a sample of the 4″ pie to wherever I wanted to meet. I though that was a little odd, but in hindsight, what GREAT customer service! Not only did he bring the 4 flavor of pies requested, he brought the additional other flavors at no extra cost! Can’t beat that :)

5 stars all around! We ordered Miz Lynn’s pies for Thanksgiving and it was so good! Heard about the famous pies from our friend Melina and we had to try everything. We got the assorted 6 pack which came with the Sweet Potato, Ginger Yam, Apple Cranberry Crisp, Strawberry Lemon, Pecan, and Lemon Chess. The pies were fresh and extremely tasty. Our favorites from the pack were the Strawberry Lemon and Sweet Potato.
To top it all off Mr. East (the owner) delivered the pies to our house that same day. Excellent customer service.
Can’t wait to order more pies come Christmas time. Thank you Miz Lynn’s and Mr. East!

5 stars for such excellent service and being so friendly. I found Miz Lynn’s Pies on Unilocal due to the stellar ratings and decided to give them a try. I called the number and spoke to Ernest to find out where I could get the pies in SF. He said they are available at Harvest Market (and I think he said Andronico’s??). He could also deliver them if you order more than one 8″ pie. Normally, the charge is $ 22 per pie (delivery charge included) but since this was my first time ordering, he would waive the delivery charge and it would be $ 20 per pie. I ordered 2 pies: one sweet potato and one strawberry lemon.
The pies were delivered frozen, which was fine with me. (I don’t know if it’s frozen at the supermarket.). I don’t think the quality changes when it gets frozen and at least they don’t run out of pies then. Besides, for same day delivery, it was amazing that he got it to me so quickly. If you’re considering ordering delivery, I suggest calling a few days in advance, if possible. I lucked out that he was able to deliver them today (unusual circumstance), but that might not be possible on other days.
Since they also cater, I am guessing you can get them delivered fresh and not frozen, if needed.
They provide receipts that are clearly itemized, so it should be easier in getting reimbursed, if you’re purchasing for a corporate event.
The 8-​inch pies each had a label that said they are 28 oz. He included a couple mini? small? pies (5 oz) for me to try at no extra charge. That was a nice surprise, since I was curious what the other flavors taste like, but didn’t have the cash handy at the time to order more than 2 pies. (He does also take credit cards, but I prefer paying by cash.)
From reading other reviews, it sounds like they are also at a bunch of farmer’s markets, including the Thursday one at SFSU. I may have to pay them a visit. I don’t know if they sell the larger 8″ size at farmer’s markets. Also, with delivery, he mentioned credit cards are accepted but I don’t know about farmers’ markets. I recommend if you’re going to the farmer’s markets that you bring cash just in case.

I often buy mini pastries, perhaps because they’re cute and portable. This time I got one each of the lemon and sweet potato 3″ pies.

Miz Lynn’s pies make you wanna slap yo mamma… lol…they are all so delicious. I appreciate how the kind gentleman let us sample everything. Being a great baker of pies myself, I’m very picky and definitely did not like anyone’s pecan pie except my own version until I tasted this one today! It was fantastic. not real sweet or gooey. Would have bought the pecan pie but they had already sold out @ the farmer’s market (Saturdays)@ csm in San Mateo so I bought the lemon strawberry instead. As I said before… they are all soooooo delicious! Will definitely be going back for another! A lot of love goes into these pies! Thank you Miz Lynn’s Pies.

Well Miz Lynn’s has outdone themselves by adding a few more pie selections. I just tried the Lemon Strawberry pie and the Apple Cranberry Crisp and had the devilish urge to hide the remaining pie somewhere that no one else in the house could find it! But I didn’t.
I had tried the usual place (Molly Stone’s/Tower Market) to get their Sweet Potato and Ginger Yam, to no avail. Apparently they hired a distributor and now are not in the stores where they were before, so the Farmer’s Market in Burlingame is the best place to get them, or just call Earnest and he might deliver if you are ordering multiple pies. It’s worth it!!!

Fantastic. Had there lemon strawberry pie at the Pacifica farmers market. Great size and fresh ingredients. The best pies I’ve ever had! My son ate 3 mini pies and he’s a little picky.

Delicious! I loved the mini pies at the recent Unilocal event I attended. Loved the ginger yam pie I had!
The little pies tasted homemade and all the flavors were great! You could tell the ingredients were straight forward and delightfully simple.
I really liked that none of the pies were loaded with sugar and filler. All around, honestly good.

I’ve never really been a pie person, so I usually just scrape off all the filling and aeat the crust. Same deal with cheesecakes.
However, after the sampling experience at SFSU’s Thursday farmers market, I found an exception.
Though most of the pies didn’t really appeal to me (as I said before), I really enjoyed the strawberry lemon pie. It’s not sour like the lemon pie, and has something more than slush (I guess I don’t like pies because of the bland, custardy texture).
The pies are reasonably priced, a buck something for a small, three dollars and something for a medium, and about seven for a large.

I recently tried for the first time Miz Lynn’s sweet potato pie and… WOW. It’s the kind of food that you find yourself closing your eyes to savor. Thanks, Miz Lynn’s.. . I LOVE your pies!

I look forward to this stand every week at the farmer’s market! Since that fateful day when they set up the sample stand at Draeger’s, we’ve now taken home all their pies and my favorite is still the pecan. I choose this over sweet potato when I can’t decide but I know i’ll enjoy that extra crunch. It’s hard to describe how I feel about these pies beyond that uncontrollable rush for more after the first bite — the crust has a perfect give and balance to the goodness inside. hah.
They now sell a $ 2 version that’s bite size — like dan tat size. I love pie, and these are good enough to serve at your wedding! or, you know, a Tuesday!

Mmmmmm a lucky me found Ernest East at my local Farmers Market with his lip smacking sweet potato pies. Created from a 100 year old recipe, his pies are delish and just what I needed on a day that feels like fall is here. Best part — you can order on the web site and they will deliver!

Sometimes, when I’m having a rough day, all I need is a little treat to change my mood. Miz Lynn’s Pies are the best kinds of pick-​me-​ups!
The 4″ pies come in three varieties: Sweet Potato, Pecan and New England Lemon Chess. I’d be hard pressed to pick out my favorite, which is probably a good thing– I’d hate to discriminate against any kind of pie. I’m totally a pie progressive.
Since they’re small (equivalent to a slice) you don’t have to feel guilty about buying one and devouring the whole thing. I guess you could split one in half and share it with someone you deem pie-​worthy. I have yet to find that kind of person though, so I just eat a whole one myself.
They’re sold in many markets in SF including: Good Life Grocery, Mollie Stones’, Andronico’s, Harvest & Harvest Urban, as well in lots of corner convenience stores. Seriously, get out there an buy one or four right now! Your belly will thank you.
