Myvrhost

This review is a «work in progress». Today marks the first day of interacting with Myvrhost, and we’ll see how this relationship evolves over the next several months.
Like hundreds of home owners here in the SF Bay Area, we have finally decided to experiment with converting our property into a vacation rental. After doing my research, I decided to contact Myvrhost.
As a quick test, I called them at 6:30 am. I’ve tried out this test with other management companies in the past. It’s hard to find a property management service that will pay to have a human answer the phone early in the morning.
Myvrhost did. Well done.
She answered in just 2 rings and was super polite. She took down all my info and said that someone at Myvrhost would call back right away.
Less than a minute later Soraya called back! Turns out that Soraya is the director of operations. I asked her a lot of questions. She graciously answered all of them, and by the time we ended the conversation, I was sold.
And sure enough, just a few minutes later, Soraya followed up by email with a detailed letter that included info about the On Boarding process and even a «New Owner’s Prep Guide».
So far at least, I’m seeing good potential to add value. They understand the importance of fast response rates, and they pay attention to details. Vacation rentals seems to me like a tough business. But perhaps Myvrhost can succeed where so many others have failed. I’m excited to start working with them. Our listing opens in a few weeks! After a few months, I’ll write another update and share what’s been happening.

Also, to Brandi who last year blamed Myvrhost for a price change in a vacation rental during Dream Force, I just have to say, Unilocal is supposed to be a place for reviews, not rants. As a property owner, I’m glad to see Myvrhost utilizing a dynamic pricing algorithm to catch fluctuations in demand.

A few of us rented a place to get out of the city for a weekend. The instructions were super simple, the place was great! Clean, massive, modern with great amenities. The whole stay was simple. Great service!

We (two couples) stayed in this AirBnB for two nights during a weekend in the City. Every aspect of our stay was perfect… the check in was done with a key box and a phone call. Very convenient. The apartment was beautiful! Spacious, clean, modern. There is a Whole Foods market and Peets a short walk away where we got the basics to have breakfast in. Having a private parking space saved money on hotel parking. We walked to the Twitter building for lunch and ran across some cool antique shops along the way. Otherwise we used Über to get around. If you are looking for a great SF retreat, look no further, this place is perfect!

I had the best homesharing experience here! The management company, myvrhost, were quick to respond when I had a question about the apple tv and had the home clean and prepared for me, the towels were situated like a hotel. I booked my rental on Airbnb for the studio I stayed at in the city and the location was fantastic! Walking distance to the main part of the Castro where I had breakfast everyday. The place was clean too and had the a binder full of recommendations for their favorite places to eat, thus how I found my breakfast place. It was nice to have a management company be personal to me, I can’t wait for my next visit to SF in January to stay at their studio again!

My husband and I rented a set of 4 units at a property as a place for our wedding party to stay. What should have been an opportunity for us to relax in a nice setting with our closest friends quickly turned stressful and costly because of MyVRHost’s appalling service. Below is a snippet from the customer lens. Unit owners beware!
Pre-​Arrival: We contacted MyVRHost with questions regarding property access. Rather than providing responses, we were directed to download an app. We did and found the same confusing content. As a result, we ended up in a back and forth with MyVRHost and the owner. Not good for the owner!
Issue #1: The night we checked in, the fire alarm in one of the houses ran out of battery and beeped all night long. Three of our guests had to relocate at 3AM through the dark, unlit polo field grounds. Because the alarm was at the highest point of a peaked roof, we contacted MyVRHost for help. After multiple attempts, we were told to «take out the battery» as if we didn’t already try that. When we returned to the house 8+ hours later, the alarm was still beeping. We finally searched the grounds for a ladder, went into town for batteries and perched our tallest guest on top of the ladder while we all braced him. This is probably what you DON’T want visitors doing on your property.
Issue #2: Once we dismantled the alarm, we realized that there was no water. This was 10PM the night before the wedding and vendors were scheduled to arrive starting at 8AM (hair, makeup, photographer, etc.). We called MyVRHost and were told that the issue would be reported. When pushed for more info — When will this be resolved? Will someone contact us? What is the case number?” Should we go to a hotel? — we were given curt, rote responses («I said the issue will be logged.»). In the absence of information, we booked two hotel rooms to shower in and relocated a few guests to stay with family. My husband heard back from MyVRHost around 6AM. We were told, «I would advise you to go to the hotel [to get ready]…I will of course issue you a refund for this huge inconvenience…» We were there less than 8 waking hours (and taken 4 showers) before the water went out. Water came back on 12 hours later around 9AM with limited water pressure. This is a liability that you probably don’t want to experience as an owner.
The day-​time team at MyVRHost was responsive, but generally unhelpful, often paralyzed in making decisions. We’re still in the process of reaching an equitable refund agreement and the company has gone silent.
I feel bad for the owners of the property, because with this level of service, no one will want to risk renting. On a personal level, I will never rent a unit that is managed by MyVRHost.

We have been so happy using myvrhost to book our home. Not only can I fully trust them to ensure a safe and clean renter but they are also available to answer all my questions and concerns day or night.
Our home is being booked up, cleaned and fully taken care of without any stress on us. The best decision we ever made is to hire myvrhost!

Completely unprofessional. I inquired about a property, received a quote and an email affirming availability of the unit. A few days later I book the unit at the quoted price. 4 hours later I receive an email that the rental price per night has more than DOUBLED and they asked if I would still like to reserve the unit at the new price. Are you kidding? Who does business like that. STAY AWAY from this company.

These guys provide excellent service.
I rented out my place for a month with them — nervously, because I’d had a terrible experience trying to do the same via Air Envy (now «Pillow») — and I learned that MyVRhost are on top their game.
They replied to guests’ messages quickly, booked out almost the entire month, optimized the pricing of my listing, coordinated with cleaners and managed reviews effectively after the fact.
Getting set up was super easy and I appreciated the personal attention to detail from the Founder, Jason.
Don’t waste your time with startups trying to get the hang of providing ancillary Airbnb services. Jason and his team have been managing rental properties for years and they’ve adapted to the changing landscape.
Couldn’t be happier that I chose MyVRhost.

The MyVRHost team have made renting out our SF property a breeze. If you are thinking of renting your apartment/​house on AirBnB or VRBO and are worried about how you will manage everything (cleaning, check-​in/​check-​out, etc.), look no further. Have your property expertly managed by MyVRHost. I’m super happy with them. They are the best!

I have a busy travel schedule, and for extra income love to rent out my home when I am away. MyVRhost has saved the day on multiple occasions. There is no way that I could provide the hospitality that I like to provide for my home while I am out of town. Daphne and Jason have managed my rental with great customer service and care for my guests, and it was super easy and fun to communicate with them. They have made renting extremely easy. Highly recommend!
