Very friendly and accommodating. I came in for an acrylic set of long coffin nails. Short wait but it was Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend. Was promptly offered a beverage. The woman who did my nails admitted to me that I was her first ever acrylic appointment so I was a bit nervous about how they would come out but she did a great job. Nice and even and she payed attention to detail. I have had some pretty terrible nail sets before by people who have been doing them much longer. I would definitely recommend this place.

I got a mani/​pedi from here today. It was great!
For the manicure I got gel overlay with coffin shaped nails and black matte nail polish with nail art accent.
For the pedicure I got just a regular one with the same color and nail art to match my hands.
As I was getting my manicure they offered me a massage for my upper arms and shoulders and neck (she ended up doing my back too) for ten minutes, I got it, I think it was ten fillers or so. It felt so good… So relaxing.
Also they asked if I wanted a leg wax and I said sure.
Overall I had three different women working on me and I didn’t have to wait either… I was just a walk-​in.

The service and quality at this salon beyond exceeded my expectations! I waited to post my review so I could see how long my gel manicure lasted (more than 2 weeks!). My nails are super thin and these gals were thoughtful and careful, friendly, reasonably priced, and simply gems! Highly recommend this salon if you are looking for a quality manicure. The only reason I’m even going back after two weeks is because I want a new color, otherwise I could have waited longer my nails still look so great!

I love this salon and these all the ladies working there. They are very detail oriented, very professional, clean and very friendly! I don’t live in this neighborhood anymore but I will brave the traffic and the parking (ugh!) to make it here. I get acrylic plus gel on my hands and special spa pedicures every three weeks, my nails are indestructible and my feet are very happy. Yes, it’s a pretty penny to spend but their prices are very reasonable and worth every penny. Highly recommend!!!

The best nail art I’ve ever had! Not only are these ladies super detailed, but they stayed an hour past closing time to complete my nail art. Definitely go to this salon for the best quality in Cow Hollow!

This is definitely my favorite saloon for Gel Manicure.
The girls here are very detailed and pay extreme attention to making your nails perfect. The gel manicure lasts at least for 2.5 weeks, and is $ 30. Also, they do a good job managing the time. My gel manicure and pedicure took about 30 minutes.
You are always served tea, and they make sure to scrub and massage you really thoroughly.
I would highly recommend!

Finally got around to write a my quick review for this Union St oldie but goody! Nails Today has been in Union St for a good long time and they’re tried and true. Tina is my girl because of her absolutely meticulous manis! They are very accommodating and great with their scheduling.

Nail today is the best nail place in the Bay Area! I say this because they do the best quality job, and my nails last longer than any other place I have had my nails done. The ladies are also really sweet, and have really awesome personalities– this makes the whole experience amazing. I would highly recommend them :).

I love this place! I’m really taken back by the negative reviews on here because my experiences have always been more than pleasant. However, if you look at the dates of the negative reviews, most of them are from several years ago. I recently moved from Chicago and with all of the nail salons on Union and in the Marina/​Cow Hollow neighborhood in general (seriously there are at least 20) I stumbled upon this one after shopping nearby. I committed to a manicure after seeing the price ($ 12 is so cheap, and $ 27 for a mani/pedi…what!!!). I expected the quality to be just okay given the price but was blown away. Seriously one of the best manicures I’ve ever had. Sure, it’s not a «spa» treatment, but my manicure lasted over a week and a half without chipping. I went back today and got in without an appointment and no wait. I was offered tea or water immediately upon being seated and the manicurist did a GREAT holiday manicure on me! I have told all of my friends in San Francisco about this place and even my friends in The Mission come out for cheap mani/​pedis that don’t look cheap!

I don’t even live in this neighborhood, but I’ve trekked here several times because they do such great gel manicures. The nail technicians are very detailed, yet efficient, and the gel manicures last for at least two weeks. This place is not the most glamorous on the block, but what it lacks in spa music and cucumber water it makes up for with beautiful and professional work.
The one thing that I would advise is that you be clear with how much cash you are handing over. The reason I say this is that yesterday I gave $ 60 cash for a $ 30 service and asked for $ 10 back. This meant I get $ 10 back which leaves a $ 20 tip (great service deserves a great tip. and it’s the holidays). When my nail technician returned with the $ 10 back that I asked for and I put it in my bag, she suddenly became aloof and wouldn’t look at me or return my «good bye have a nice weekend.» I thought it was weird, and realized about ten minutes later (when I’m on the bus heading home) that the nail technician assumed I gave her $ 40 and stiffed her on the tip. This means there is $ 20 sitting in the register that should be sitting in her pocket.
Lesson learned for me about being clear when I use cash to pay for services and the tip. I want to go back, but am now in fear that they think I am some awful person who doesn’t tip. The reality is that I’m a big believer there is a place in hell for people who are bad tippers or, worse, who don’t tip at all.

This salon is one of the best I’ve been to on union. Many salons around here do not offer acrylic services, but they do an excellent job from fills to designs. I have had very good experiences with both manicures and pedicures, and the prices are some of the best I’ve seen in the area.

I am extremely picky when it comes to getting my nails done! I live in the Cow Hollow/​Marina area and have tried a bunch of the top rated nail salons listed on Unilocal.Why this one is not at the very top amazes me! Nail Today is absolutely awesome! The nail specialists are very thorough in their cleaning of nails as well as application of the polish. It has been one week and neither my toes or hand polish has chipped. This is definitely my new spot! Price point is great as well — $ 27 for a mani/​pedi. My favorite person is Tam. Thank you!

I am not sure why Nail Today has a 3 rating. I have been going to this Nail Salon for the better part of the last 2 years and they have always done a great job! I get Shallac mani’s and a pedi. It’s not fancy, but they last a full 2 weeks and they are efficient.
They also do waxing which adds to the efficiency of this place. The prices seem in line with Joy Joy and other salons I have tried. But even Joy Joy, which is definitely very nice, doesn’t seem to do as good a job on the actual nails as Nail Today…
Just my 2 cents but I would most definitely go here is you live in the Marina or Pacific Heights without thinking twice.

I’ve been coming here off and on for a few months, and I’ve had both gel and regular manicures and pedicures. The ladies are friendly. So far, I’ve had a lot of luck with long-​lasting colors that don’t chip.

Update: I did file a complaint with the licensing board of CA. I received the following update from them today:

There’s better on Union. Nice enough but they nickel and dime you for things other nail salons give you. The quality not the best, my nails weren’t evenly shaped and they argued with my request for more color. I felt rushed. And as in another review, I asked them to bring my shoes several times to my new seat for drying and they were shoved underneath the spa chair while they worked in a new customer in the spa chair.

The ladies that work here are nice and very accommodating for our party of 5. The prices are pretty good, but I think you get what you pay for. It says mani /​pedi = $ 25 however if you want the ‘spa’ chair (which is kind of a given) it is $ 30. No big deal. The one thing that bothered me, is that they didn’t help me find a place to put my backpack /​shoes /​socks (didn’t know I was going to get my nails done or else I would have worn flip flops!). I ended up sitting with my back pack behind my back, my shoes got pushed under the chair, and when the lady finally drained the foot spa, low and behold, there was one of my socks. soaking wet. Lol. I don’t know how the heck it got in there but I was a bit annoyed.
It was OKAY, I will try out other places before going back.

Not recommending this place. I went there to get a manicure. The lady who did my manicure accidentally made my cuticle bleed while she was cleaning my cuticle. Furthermore she didn’t even say sorry or anything !
I still have to pay $ 11 for it. Totally not worth it.
