My usual hair stylist I go to is in the Sunsets. And since I don’t live around the sets anymore I had to find a new place, I was just driving pass and seen this little hole in the wall while on the way home. Thought I give it a shot, walked in, Cindy barely opened and her salon is CLEAN and she is so sweet! She greeted me with a good morning right-a-way. I then asked her how much it would be to get the quick shampoo, trim/thinned out and she answered me without any hostile tones(like most salons do when you ask for a price). Hence I am now doing a first review since I couldn’t find her on Unilocal. I only came for a quick shampoo and hair ‘trim’/thinnered, I usually have a crap ton of hair so I am in dyer need of a session to get it thinned out especially in this heat wave in SF. And she did JUST that for me! No pressuring on cutting my hair shorter or adding on more styles. Which I greatly appreciate, sometimes a gal just want what they want and not have to turn anything down. Yanno. Right when she started to shampoo me, a gentleman walks in and she immediately greeted him with a warm welcome as well. Even though he was another walk-in, Cindy didn’t seem to feel rushed or hurried. Which I loved, because she still took the time and made convo; and asked questions/details of how I wanted my hair. THUMBSUP! So it is $ 13 For my hair trim/thinned out and + $ 5 for a shampoo/condition = $ 18 bucks. So in total it was about $ 20 when I tipped her. I will definitely be coming back, so much more convenient for me because she is so close to my house. And she was a doll to talk to as well(I spoke to her in cantonese), but she also speaks decent english! She was super friendly and asked about myself, talked about weather, sf, kids, hair, etc. Relaxing. Which is what I needed. I’m not sure if her place is CASHONLY, but for now I would just say yes; bring cash.

The proprietress of this small and modestly appointed place is, you guessed it, Nancy, a pleasant and soft-spoken lady of frequent smiles. She is skilled with scissors and razors, very responsive to instructions, patient and neat in her work. No surprise too-short cuts! The price is $ 10 for a haircut, $ 12 for long hair. A bargain for the quality! I like the scissor cut. Nancy takes appointments and walk-ins; there is often a gentleman cutting hair cutting hair as well.
