Natural Alignment Rolfing & Bodywork

I just moved to the city and was nervous to find a bodywork specialist as good as my one back home. What a great surprise for me — Allie is even better that what I thought was the best! She really knows what she’s doing and my results were fantastic. My neck and shoulder pain was better almost immediately. She really went above and beyond and helped set me up with a pillow she recommended for my continued alignment. She’s great!

Rolfing really works for my condition. I needed to go into the structure, the facia, the connective tissue rather than the muscles. So massage wasn’t helping. Your therapy is very personal. Look into rolfing to see if it may be for you. It’s really helped me. and Allie is good at it. She has a very comfortable space, clean and warm.
I have sciatic back pain, mostly from the piriformis muscle. The sciatic nerve gets aggravated and sends horrible pain around my pelvis and legs. The rolfing treatment by Allie really has helped me after a few sessions. I will stick with it for a while becuase I know see how she is progressively «untangling» the tissue wrapped around my nerves. I don’t know what the hell she’s doing, but it’s working!

I’ve stuck with rolfing with Allie, and I’m so glad I have! Rolfing has cleaned up my posture — which has given me back about a half-​inch of height. It’s eased a variety of middle-​aged aches and pains. And I move so much more efficiently, I feel years younger! Really, really happy I explored this!

Allie is awesome. Most affordable rolfer in San Francisco. Cozy clean comfortable environment. Really intense, targeted, thoughtful. I highly recommend.

I found Allie after having pain in my leg (from my hip to my knee) for about three months. It was waking me up at night, was making me tired, and just bringing me down. I finally got tired of it and decided to do something about it.
I had never tried Rolfing before but had heard it was very effective. I found that to be 100% accurate. From the first session, I noticed a change in my body, the way I stood, walked, and an improvement on my pain. I committed to ten sessions which I have now completed and can say that not only has the pain gone from my leg but I also stand differently. Ever since I can remember I stood with one leg pointing out — I don’t now. I also broke the bad habit of crossing my legs.
Allie is very informative, very helpful. She has a great easy energy to her. Rolfing doesn’t feel great when it’s being done, and I would say it involves some trust. Allie’s strong, professional yet nurturing abilities allowed this for me.
If you are dealing with pain, structural issues or simply want to feel more connected, more aware of your body this practice can help you meet those goals. I am very active in yoga and Pilates and will continue to see Allie when I need some fine tuning.

I’ve been a client of Allie’s since the fall, and would absolutely recommend her services. I had shoulder and arm nerve issues that she was able to help sort out, in conjunction with acupuncture and physical therapy. I’m also 6’2″/215 and Allie was fully capable of the necessary deep tissue work I required.
Allie is professional, has flexible hours (love the saturday afternoon availability) and a great location. Plenty of parking, a clean and comfortable space, and very reasonable pricing.

Before seeing Allie i was in alot of pain. I had difficulty walking and standing. One of my friends referred me to Allie and rolfing. She did a consultation and mentioned to take 10 sessions with her and that i would feel better. I was skeptical at first, but I was pleasantly surprised with results. My muscles were very tight. She loosened them and that has provided much needed relief.
I would say I started feeling a difference after the first session. I would say Allie has truly made my day to day life less painful. She is a professional and cares about her clients. Many times our sessions went beyond the time allotted and she did not charge anything extra; she kept on working. I drove all the way from san jose to her office in sf for treatments. I would highly recommend Allie to anybody who is dealing with pain.

I’ve been plagued with lower back stuff since I was 18, that stems from hamstring and hip tightness. I feel like a new woman! While still careful with all my movements in workout classes and through the day that could tweak my back, I don’t live in constant fear anymore of my back going out.
I also walk straighter, with my shoulders back and engage my core without any conscious thought. This feels great, makes for much better running posture AND makes me look 2 inches taller and 10 lbs lighter.
Allie has a very professional and competent demeanor, while still coming across as warm and as concerned about getting my body in alignment as I am. I’m so glad that I found her!

Rolfing
I’ve been a true believer of Rolfing for years. I had been introduced to Rolfing from a golf mailing list at work where one member hailed it as the cure for his chronic back pain. I was skeptical until I did more research and became impressed by the sound principles it was based upon. I do not trust chiropractors at all and massages are just temporary relief. I had strained my back pretty bad so I decided to give Rolfing a chance.
Immediately Rolfers can diagnose what’s wrong with your body. For me, old injuries, tensions, and years of bad posture had done its damage. It was alarming when my Rolfer showed me how one leg was lined up almost 2 inches shorter than the other when laid on the table. After some work got that sorted out I felt a whole lot taller and my body was in sync. The body is a connected, confusing thing that easily gets out of wack. My back was fixed and I felt physically better than I had in years, I got a lot of comments wondering how I got taller in such a short amount of time.
Allie
I started going to Allie last year and she has been so great to me. I’ve had issues come up again, mainly due to bad posture and having to sit in front of a computer all day. She knows exactly what’s wrong with me by observing my range of motion. She finds and alleviates tensions in areas I hardly ever think about until I notice the flexibility and fluidity I gain after her treatments. She has the perfect temperament for a Rolfer and I always feel amazing when I walk out that door. As an added bonus she is great to talk while you’re going through your treatment. She knows exactly the right amount of pressure to apply.
Don’t waste your money on massages and chiropractors; they will not fix the fundamental problems with your body. Now with Health Savings accounts, you can easily use that money you put aside to pay for these treatments as a physical therapy expense.

I was introduced to Allie by my girlfriend who had just started her 10 series. I’ve always considered massages as a way to comfort myself when I’m stressed. I had never thought it could change my body in terms of flexibility.
Now that I’ve finished my 10 series, here’s what I’ve noticed:
–Better range of motion in my chest, most notable my pecs to my shoulders
–Loosened shoulder blades and back. Not as many balls of stress in that area (that’s where I carry it the most)
–Increased flexibility in hamstrings and hips
Things you should know:
–Be patient. It took me 3 – 4 sessions before I noticed a difference. Keep in mind that I had kept the same amount of stretching/​exercise throughout this phase
–There will be some sessions/​areas that will hurt. For me, the first sessions that focused on my feet and calves were awful, the following sessions were much better
The one aspect of Allie’s approach I appreciate is her ability to analyze your body and ask you what has been bothering you.

I decided to try rolfing after having on and off back pain for many years. I had tried chiropractic services which helped but did not completely eliminate pain.
After completing the 10 series with Allie I had no lower back issues and was able to return to running full time. This past year I was able to compete in 4 half marathons.
I continue to go back to Allie for occasional tune ups if I feel any type of back pain returning.

Wow! I’ve been going to Allie for the past 5 weeks and I feel so much more relaxed and balanced holistically… body, mind and spirit. Doing the 10 pack series is the best option for me because I have holding everywhere especially in shoulder and neck areas resulting in headaches often. Allie is very professional, knowledgeable, intuitive and a very kind Rolfing practitioner. I will keep going back to her for ongoing tune-​ups. Allie knows the muscle system well and continues to help me understand my holding patterns in muscles I never even knew I had and how to let go more and more with each progressive session. I was skeptical of rolfing at first, but after completing my 10 series, I AM HOOKED! I would highly recommend rolfing to everyone, from those with ailments to the super fit athletes.
Allie is incredibly professional and genuinely cares about her patients. There’s been countless sessions where we’ve ended later than the scheduled time – just because she wanted to make sure she spent enough time diffusing the facia. She offers a very reasonable price given her extensive training and experience. I recently found out that she works both at her own practice and at SenSpa, a high end spa where they charge $ 165/​session. For the exact same service, you pay a fraction of the price! Yes please!
Couple of things to consider:
1) Stick it out for at least 4 – 5 sessions.
I didn’t feel any significant changes for the first 3 sessions. However, after the 4^th session my entire body felt so much more nimble.
2) Don’t expect rolfing alone to be a cure all.
For me, personal training, diet and rolfing works wonders. I feel more healthy now than I ever have.
3) It’s not relaxing like a swedish massage. It’s much closer to targeted foam rolling. There’s been sessions where I felt like the pain level is like rumble roller x 10… but it’s so worth it afterwards! Of course, she can always adjust the pressure, but I always try to tough it out :)

I was introduced to Rolfing by a mutual friend randomly one day when I admired her good posture. I have always been aware that I didn’t have the best posture, and it became apparent when friends mentioned they would observe me at parties hunched over with my arms crossed (they took it as a sign of insecurity, whereas I have never believed that I was an insecure person).
After I was advised of Rolfing, I did a ton of research and wanted to try it out. After researching several rolfers in San Francisco, I decided on Allie based on Unilocal reviews and pricing. As far as pricing goes — she offers a way better deal than most Rolfers I found.
I have to say — I am so happy that I did. Not only is Allie kind, sweet, and funny ~ I feel as if rolfing really has worked & I noticed subtle differences in my body each week of my 10 series (tomorrow is my final one). For example, when walking down the street, I can tell that I walk with my shoulders back and looking up (where as previously I always tended to look at the floor with my neck protruding forward). Also when I sit improperly at work — it now tends to feel uncomfortable, which reminds me to sit up straight. Allie is always professional and makes you feel comfortable and at ease during the whole process. I would highly recommend Allie to anyone that I know!

I am a dedicated yoga practitioner & have experimented with many forms of bodywork, and rolfing has been the most profoundly effective for me — both for clearing chronic pain patterns & unlearning mechanical habits, such as those from working at a pc all day — but also, for creating a deep sense of calm & relaxation in my nervous system, charged up from a life of many moving parts & lots time commitments!
Allie is an intuitive, kind, and deeply attentive bodyworker/​caregiver. Since rolfing can be perceived as an intense experience & works deeply, choosing someone who listens well & is responsive to the amount of pressure, which areas of the body need more attention, and how best to approach so that your experience is optimized is vital. Like others have mentioned, Allie is a gifted healing practitioner.
Choosing the 10-​Series is a big commitment, but is life-​changing.
There were a couple of occasions where I considered not continuing, particularly after session 7 where the effects really started to integrate, but completing in entirety was very worthwhile.
My specific issue was related to having a scoliosis & this bodywork method seems to be very well suited for that. I was also experiencing chronic stress/​fatigue/​muscle aches & this has been very well served by rolfing, too. Feeling less anxious & more balanced & energized, as well more grounded in response to life stressors is of immeasurable benefit. Very Grateful! Thank you, Allie!

I was lucky enough to have met Allie a few months back. I have suffered
from chronic back tension and stiffness due to the nature of my work and
to a mild scoliosis. I didn’t know much about Rolfing and had the
erroneous idea that it would hurt, but I tried it anyway. Allie is a
very personable rolfer explained to me that it doesn’t have to be painful I
would see results within a few sessions. I already noticed that my pain
is going away and that my posture has improved.
My imbalances due to my kyphotic posture and scoliosis have improved
tremendously and I feel more aligned and lighter. She is open to answer
all the questions I have about Rolfing and about what she is doing and
why. She is very knowledgeable about anatomy and showed me exercises and stretches to do at home as well. She always adjust the pressure to go
deeper or lighter as I ask and is very good about fitting me in last
minute whenever she can. Make sure you communicate your needs well and
she will work miracles. She knows an array of bodywork modalities in
addition to rolfing. She has a bubbly personality that will keep you coming back.

I have seen Allie three times so far. Rolfing sometimes has a reputation of being painful, but Allie is very intuitive as a massage therapist and knows when to back off if it gets too intense. After each session, I have noticed that my body feels looser and I have less pain (not just for a day, but for the rest of the week). I have suffered from chronic joint and muscle pain for over 12 yrs and have tried every kind of therapy. I’m very encouraged by the results of Rolfing and am looking forward to more sessions. As a yoga teacher, I will definitely be recommending Allie to my students.

I was diagnosed with a severely compressed disk between L4 & L5. Before getting surgery I was referred to Allie Mingli Jiang. I am so glad because after 3 sessions the pressure on my lower back was greatly reduced. My back was straighter and taller. I am virtually pain free and able to move much better.
I did not know what to expect the first time but Allie Mingli Jiang explained the process before she began. She is very strong and knew exactly how to relieve the pressure from my lower back. I immediately felt lighter and was able to move easier after the first session.
I now go 2 times a month and that will go to once a month soon.
If your back is not young and flexible, her treatments will make you feel much better

I have been seeing Allie MingLi Jiang for Rolfing for over two years, her work has been very helpful with my chronic tension on shoulders and back pain due to T4/​T5 deviation and computer related stress. My Posture improved too. Especially I can sleep comfortably without a pillow supporting my back discomfort as I used to. The quality of sleep is also better than before.
Remember two years ago when my niece who has received Rolfing from Allie recommended me to see her, First I did not believe that could be helpful because I had tried everything for many years (Acupuncture, Chiropractic, massages) without much help and I did feel hopeless. It took me a few month to decide to give a try of Rolfing just because my niece pushed me to try it and I did not have any expectations. Now I am a big believer of Rolfing and Very happy with the Results I have gotten from her work.
