Navarro Concrete Construction

Well, tried for weeks to get them to commit to a job start date after getting a reasonable estimate from them. No reply to numerous phone calls to the number listed. Now the number is disconnected.
I guess they don’t need the work

Novarro Concrete has done several jobs for us, and the work that they do for the price is outstanding! That is why I’m giving them 5 stars on this review. Someone else wrote about the business practices and gave them only 1 star. Keep in mind this review is based strictly on the Business Practices alone and not on their work, and I can understand the frustration as they are truly wonderful craftsmen rather than businessmen. If you ever visit a doctor who is considered ‘the best’ you’ll often times have long unjustifiable wait times in their office. Horrible business practice… absolutley! Excellent medical practioner — definitely! If you’re willing to put up with a little frustration with the business practice, you may be someone (like ourselves) that considers the end product (especially for the price) well worth the wait! Just be persistent in your follow up with them! Novarro is truly wonderful in the work that they do!

While the quality of their work may be adequate, their business practices and follow-​through of their commitments is awful.
Saw their work as they were replacing a sidewalk near our home. Looked very good and the workers took a minute to talk with me about the job itself. It was the third job I had seen them do. Got their card and gave them a call for a quote. And there’s where it all dies.
–Missed their first appointment to give the quote. No call, no follow-​up. I had to call them.
–Came to the second appointment and I described the project and timeline needed. Everything seemed normal and reasonable, including the rough estimate. Was promised a written estimate the following day.
–No written estimate received. Called their office and was told they had a job that ran long and they’d get it to me the next day.
–Next day, same issue. No call, no quote. Called the office and was told that the quote needed to be written and they’d have Carlos (owner) call me.
–No call, no quote for 3 days. Called back and was told Carlos would call me in a few minutes.
–No call for another couple of days. Called the office and was again told that Carlos would call me. They asked my address and knew that they hadn’t gotten back in touch with me.
Normally I would have completely ignored a contractor who pulled this crap on me, but this is what Unilocal and other online reviews are for. I will certainly re-​evaluate this review IF I ever get a callback or a quote. I have already selected another contractor through Unilocal and they were right on with their promises, estimate and references.

Nothing but good words for Navarro. They’ve done a lot of work at our place, completely replacing the concrete of our driveway and doing an aggregate mix for our front walkway. I’m totally fascinated by anything construction related, so I spent a lot of time just watching these guys work. And I can’t tell you how impressed I was at their quality of workmanship and level of finish.
Our driveway is very steep, and our car would scrape as a result of the grade every time we pulled into the garage. In replacing it, the Navarro guys measured out the length, width, and clearance of my car and re-​graded the driveway to make sure I could pull in without scraping. Awesome.
I called them back a couple months later to do the walkway, and Ernesto and his guys did another admirable job. Tore out the old concrete, laid down a vapor barrier, and poured new concrete with an aggregate topcoat that looks beautiful.
Very professional, friendly, and by the way… their pricing is great. I would recommend Carlos Navarro and his team the first time, every time.
