I have been a competitive athlete most of my life (swimming year round, 20 hours a week) so when I no longer was training at that level, it was a hard transition to adjust my body’s idea of how much food I should be eating. I went up and down a bit in weight with different diets. After trying Nutraworks, I was surprised at how easy it was to stick to the plan. It was extremely encouraging to keep on track with the plan as I saw immediate results. In 5 – 6 weeks, I had lost 20 pounds and it showed! I dropped two sizes and was smaller than I was even in high school.
The staff at both Posture Works and Nutra Works are very helpful and genuine. The price for the foods for me ended up being between $ 10 – 15 a day which is a huge discount from ordering out food and a small price to pay for getting the results you want. There are plenty of food options to find things that you like and the foods are easy to prepare on the go which is a huge factor in sticking with the diet for me.

This place was great! I only wanted to lose a (~10) few pounds, and following their program I was able to do so in just a month. The coaches were great, and the pre-​made meals were surprisingly delicious. I actually still drink their breakfast shakes for breakfast. Great place. Keep up the good work NutraWorks Team!

I am new to Nutraworks and can say it works. What’s more, the people are nice, informative, and helpful. However, unlike some other reviewers here, I do not think their food is delicious. If you are used to whole, organic, and locally sourced foods, you will agree that a packet of powder mixed with water to make an omelet is not appetizing. I am also finding the food pricing to be unreal and am already looking for alternatives. I know it’s a diet, and Nutraworks makes food that helps people lose weight, but $ 25 for a box of five chicken bouillon servings? I would rather pay Nutraworks more upfront for their coaching and then dish out a somewhat reasonable amount (think Whole Foods) for their products.

As an update, when I went to NutraWorks, it was an Ideal Protein center. It appears it is no longer. My review relates to the time in which NutraWorks was an Ideal Protein center, and has nothing relevant to whatever their current practice or protocols are. If you are looking for my results, then see an Ideal Protein center. That is the only advice I can give.

The money I paid for this program is NOT double-​counted, as you have stated, and I still have receipts to prove it. If however, you feel you have double charged me and would like to refund my costs, I’d be more than happy to have my money back
Also, your implication that the only way this program didn’t work for me is b/​c I cheated is a complete insult… but I only have my word to go off of here & I’m *completely* sure I trust myself.
Nothing was exaggerated & believe me, no one is more sorry that this program didn’t work out for me… but classy move there, to try to throw the blame my way
So personal attacks aside, my best advice to anyone reading this: Research diet /​lifestyle programs for yourselves & take all opinions into account… this back & forth is no different.
I would suggest visiting 3fatchicks to see a whole forum about the great & not so great experiences with Ideal Protein. My experience is just 1 out of thousands but it is an honest & accurate accounting of what I went through. This is what makes Unilocal so great — everyone is entitled to documenting their experiences & that’s ** exactly ** what I did.

This place is great! The program has really worked for me. It really is about time and commitment… and yes money, too. I’ve tried all the fads. I’ve yo-​yo dieted throughout my life and that was not fun. I needed to change and do something different. The first part of this program is probably the hardest but if you stick with it and start seeing results, it will motivate you to get to the maintenance phase. I have made mistakes (I’m human, aren’t i?!) in this program but the way I’ve overcome them is having a good attitude and with the help of my coach, Elise. I’m in maintenance now and there are still challenges but I have a better understanding of what food is to me and continuing my journey towards optimal health. Whether this program is right for you or not, the only thing you can do is try it out for yourself. I’m happy with what I’ve accomplished by being a part of this program and sticking with it. The food is great and the staff is too. Love it.

Went here because my goals changed from fitness competitions to getting ready for my wedding and I wanted to see what they offered that wasn’t as disciplined as a competition diet. I was really excited to be here and Stephanie was nice and did a good job at presenting.
I decided not to move forward with this program for several reasons. There were some red flags for me, but I am analytical so I’m all for facts. I really wanted to learn to eat right not be put on a plan with their specific food. That’s like what NutriSystem does. They don’t teach you how to eat right with everyday food until you hit your goal or come close to hitting your goal. That’s not what I was looking for. I don’t want to get healthy by eating foods they made and they are processed foods, not fresh. I want to live a clean lifestyle. People need to break away from the processed food.
They said I have to buy their supplements and they listed the supplements, which I already take being that I do bodybuilding competitions, but they said nope, we have to take theirs because it goes well with their food. I don’t know why their multivitamin is better than my multivitamin that I have to take their word for it and take theirs. They didn’t really explain, we just have to take their word for it and that was a reoccurring theme. They also have something that measures your body composition/​fat that they said is the leading way to measure your body comp and again, being in fitness, I know that the best way to measure your body fat is hydrostatic testing (getting dunked under water). I do it several times a year so to take their word for it just didn’t rub me right.
There were other things that didn’t sit right with me, but the biggest was that they said you can’t really work out. You can, but not too much, no weight training and when I probed, they said, fine, I can do some but very very light weight. To me, any program that does not promote eating clean, but just their foods and does not promote working out unless it’s through their machines downstairs does not sit well with me. Maybe it’s just me and not my kind of program and if you want to get skinny, but all means, I think you can based on the testimonies. However, I think a program should teach you how to eat clean such as oats, egge whites, white fish, chicken, lean meats, yams, brown rice AND encourage you to do a healthy amount of cardio/​strength training. It doesn’t sound right to give you processed, boxed food. That’s just like Nutrisystem. And then to not promote working out unless it’s on their moving plates/​TRX
I was in the workshop with two other women who had family who did the program and look great. I was happy for them that this is their kind of program and I wished them luck (they did not know I decided not to sign up). It can be for some people. But if you look at my before/​after, I did it the right way through good old fashioned working out (not hard, but some elliptical and weight training) and just eating clean, non-​processed food, which is how humans were supposed to live. I had supplements as well like multivitamin and fish oil and vitamin C. I lost 40 lbs in 2 months, 3 weeks but not only that, I felt the best ever because I didn’t have processed food in me. I was looking for a program that promotes great overall health, but not as disciplined as my competition diet. In the end, I decided to stick to my clean food but just not be as strict so it’s more maintainable for everyday life (like eating 4x a day instead of 6x a day when I was competing). Congrats to all those who did well on this program and I’d say go for it if you’re just trying to lose weight. The staff is nice so customer service is not an issue for me. Whatever you choose, best of luck!

I started NutraWork’s Ideal Protein program in July 2013 in preparation for my October 2013 wedding because my weight loss stalled out on Weight Watchers and I wanted to do something to shake things up given my short timeline. I was thrilled with the results! I lost over 35 pounds (was shooting for 20 pounds) by the end of September — and it was surprisingly easy.
A quick reality check, though: the Ideal Protein approach is pretty hardcore, so you’ve got to be ready to take it seriously. It was by far the most restrictive diet I have every tried but, that said… after the first few days, it also was the easiest and most effective diet I have ever tried. It’s been a few months now since I’ve been back to eating normally and the weight hasn’t come back. (I have adjusted my eating habits, though, based on their Phase 4 recommendations. I’m eating much healthier meals now with the occasional free for all.) I really couldn’t be happier with the process or the results. In particular, I found that the individual weekly check-​ins were hugely helpful towards success on this program.
Other nutritions centers offer Ideal Protein and my sense is that there are some minor differences in cost and coaching techniques. So, I can’t really speak to Ideal Protein experiences as offered at other centers, but I was very impressed by the folks at NutraWorks. In particular, my coach, Kelly, was fantastic. But everyone I met at NutraWorks was incredibly helpful, professional, and knowledgable. Well done, NutraWorks!

Initially I was considering dieting on my own and then a Living Social coupon appeared for a deal at NutraWorks. Being very skeptical and scientific minded I did my research and looked into what others were saying about the program and was extremely impressed during the initial consultation session where they step you thru the science of weight loss.
I’m into my 4^th week now having lost roughly 20 pounds and I found the program to be very comprehensive overall. I need structure and I really like the fact that every meal is pretty much planned out, accompanied with the necessary ideal protein and viatmin/​mineral supplements. Scheduling weekly appointments is also great for staying honest and feeling like someone is concerned with your progress. My guide, Kelly, has been amazingly awesome– she offers recipe ideas, insights into how the body changes and has been highly supportive. They have the most sophisticated BMI type devices as well so you get to see on a weekly basis how your fat vs lean mass composition is changing.
This is the first time I’ve tried dieting under a formal structure and I would highly recommend the program to anyone looking to lose weight.

I found a living social deal for Nutra Works and was thought, why not? I was at the highest weight I had ever been at and I was reaching the point where if I didn’t do something now, I wasn’t sure I would ever be able to lose the weight.
I’ve been doing the diet for 7 weeks and have lost over 25 lbs. I am so happy and proud of myself. I“m not gonna lie, its expensive. But being fat is dangerous, so I’m OK with the cost. The hardest part is not drinking but since I’m not drinking, my booze money is going toward the diet. I still have about 20 lbs more to lose. I’m proud of how far I have gotten. It works, it really works.

Nutra Works is a wonderful Weight Loss Clinic, and life changing inspiration. It motivates you for better life style, healthy life style, and optimal nutrition. Everyone on the team is very helpful, supportive, encouraging, as well as super nice. The program is actually easier then it sounds, and the foods are really tasty. I was at a point of my life where I was beating up on myself all the time and thought that it wasn’t worth it to try and look good. Luckily, one of my coworkers went to Nutraworks and told me about how much weight he lost. I got inspired and booked a consultation with Dr. Miller. I have a heavy science background and a huge skeptic, but the science Dr Miller told me about made sense! Not only does the program work, the whole Nutraworks team is a tight-​knit family that supports you the whole entire time. I have lost almost 60 pounds and I don’t think I could have done it any other way. Thank you, Nutraworks.

I was originally enrolled in a ideal protein program by another provider in the east bay. Ultimately, they were not a good fit for me.
Under the care of Dr M I have have thrived. I have lost over 70 pounds and more importantly feel like I have my life back. Everyone in his office has been helpful and supportive.
Only downside is the products are expensive. But, dieting on your own sucks and I feel like I have a caring coach. Also, the simplicity is awesome.
Its worth the drive, or bart, if you live in the east bay.

A great physician-​monitored weight loss clinic in San Francisco! From their exceptional service and knowledgeable doctors, to great tasting food, and best of all fast RESULTS — I highly recommend NutraWorks to anyone who is tired of gimmicky diets that get no results!

I want to first preface this review with a few things: I’m not a yo-​yo dieter, I have never done a crazy «cleanse», I work out more often than not, I love dessert and finally, I love pasta.
Sooooo why did I try Ideal Protein? Despite a cardio heavy workout routine 4 – 5 days a week, coupled with healthy eating, I couldn’t shake those last 5 – 10 pounds. I watched a few friends (in similar situations) try this and enjoy quick, long lasting results. This is certainly not a quick, gimmicky diet however. It resets your clock, so to speak, or at least that is what it did for me. My body was stuck in a rut and was not processing sugars/​carbs the way it should. I lost more than what I set my goal for, in just 2 weeks. That was back in April and guess what? I haven’t gained anything back. Yes, I still ate my heart out at Thanksgiving, Christmas and many days in between.
I’ve seen and heard about all walks of life benefiting from this program. I would recommend it to anyone whose looking to lose 5 pounds or 100 pounds!

Hi All! If you are looking to lose weight, then this is the diet to be on!
My sister-​in-​law introduced me to Ideal Protein. I have been struggling with losing weight from the birth of my twin boys, and considered going on this diet.
I contacted Dr. Miller and Dr. Levin’s office and signed up for the informational seminar to learn more on the theory of the Ideal Protein diet. Everything made sense and I decided to give it a try. Long story short, I lost 25 pounds in 3 months!
While the weight loss sounds amazing, it truly was just the «icing on the cake» so to speak. The true value of being on this diet was the lessons I’ve learned on how and what to eat, and how it relates to the different functions of my body. I’ve got a long line of diabetes in my family, so learning how to eat properly has been so valuable!
The process of losing weight was difficult for me. I don’t think I could have done it without the knowledge and support of Dr. Miller and Dr. Levin. They are truly amazing Dr.‘s and individuals! I wish there were more of them! I can’t praise them enough!

I’ve since become a part of the team because I became so passionate about what this program and what it could do for the everyday person (my friends and family) struggling with health issues related to weight and hormones!
