wow did I ever make a $ 800 mistake! DO NOT BUY HERE! The lenses I purchased don’t even fit my camera. I used the same camera I own at their store a Nikon 5300. Was probably fake. Walk away. Walk away. WALK AWAY!!!

STAY AWAY! This outfit preys on tourists hoping to do a high-​pressure sales job for inferior camera accessories at inflated prices, all the while using fake websites to show they are offering a great deal. I fell victim to them, even though I’m pretty savvy about scam artists. They’re really good at what they do. Do not even enter the store or speak to any of their sidewalk agents. If you do, you’ll be sorry — trust me. I learned a $ 300 lesson about scamming. The only positive I can think of is that if these a-​holes weren’t scamming on Fisherman’s Wharf, they would be selling drugs to kids on schoolyards. I can’t believe the city of San Francisco lets outfits like this operate. They give the city a black eye.
If you want camera accessories, use B&H or other such reputable vendors. Put these guys out of business. Don’t even buy trinkets there. There are many other stores around the Wharf with good prices.
As other reviewers have mentioned, I wish I could give zero or negative stars.

On 6÷28÷14 while visiting San Francisco, I made the misfortunate error of stepping into this shop to purchase lense cleaner for my camera. What transpired next was an ordeal of epic portions which concluded in my favor on 9÷8÷14. I strongly caution anyone from entering this store, in fact, cross the street! I am appalled that this place remains in business due to their hard sell tactics selling misrepresented merchandise valued at a fraction of the real cost. Protect yourself and do not cross the threshold of this scam of a business.
Be sure to READ ALL the reviews that Unilocal does NOT recommend on this business. You will save yourself a boat load of trouble and cash!

Absolute SCAM. I was an idiot who fell into their deceptive demo of a really cheap extender and paid at a ridiculous overprice! They showed a (fake?) web site where the extender is priced in Euros at stratospheric prices.
They even put additional stuff for you over the counter to create a bundle + discount offer that looks like a great deal if as me, you don’t have internet access in your cell outside of your home country and are then, unable to do your own research.
Shocked to learn how many reports they have in the Better Business Bureau and yet they’re still on business. Check also the RipOff Report to learn more about these gangsters.
Door man at the hotel knows of these scams (as I assume everybody working in the Waterfront) but nobody would warn tourists of this huge SCAM!

Bad actors! Scam artist. Paid twice what digital camera was priced for at Best Buy and Amazon. Shame on me for not check your postings and google information first. Would never had be taken if I had done any research at all on this business!

If I could I won’t even give it a star. Complete scam. Asked how much it was to get my censor cleaned and they said it was for free, but at the end he wanted a $ 20 for service! I argued with the man and he offered to get the dust back in my censor if I didn’t want to pay. Such a sore loser as a businessman. Terrible place, total scam! Don’t come here!

BEWARE!!! If I could give this place zero or negative stars, I would. Just like the others say, these guys are complete SCAM artists. My mom walked in for a $ 10 cleaning kit for her camera and next thing I know I turn around and they are showing her an HD wide lens for her Nikon camera. They bring up a fake website where it shows a price of $ 1,500 but there she can get it for $ 820. What a bargin!
Then they start «throwing in» other random «$ 50 filters» to sweeten the deal. Despite my suggestions that we should think about it (i.e. do some research) my mom takes the bait and I stand by helplessly as they run her card.
Later on that night, she pulls out the handwritten receipt looks it all up online. The HD wide lens is being sold by private parties on Amazon for roughly $ 120 – 150, the majority of the reviews are horrible and (interestingly enough) many of them mention the scam!!!

So she then looks up the other two «$ 50 filters» they threw in and they retailed for $ 3.99 and $ 8. Essentially, she paid $ 820 for items «worth» roughly $ 160.
We went back the next day to return the sale and (not surprisingly) after 10 mins of back and forth, they still refused to return any of it. LUCKILY, she paid with a credit card. We left the merchandise on the counter and contacted her credit card company on the way out.
Moral of the story — if it’s too good to be true, it probably is!
Oh and protect yourself by paying with a credit card! The dispute/​resolution centers within AMEX, Citibank, etc are really good when it comes to reversing a transaction with an uncooperative merchant.

This store is a rip off, they lie to you about there product and charge you 10 times the price online. Buyers beware, they are such a rip off. Do not buy from this store. Look up any product they show you online first.

SCAM!!! SCAM!!! They tried to sell me a Marco lens while I was walking buy and had a great demo. I declined buying the lens for $ 500 dollars and they talked down the price. I found the exact macro lens online for $ 5!

I found myself in this store not because of the cameras and lenses they try hard so hard to sell, but because of the cheap knick knacks they offer. I was looking for a couple of souvenirs to bring back to some friends back at home and this store had a vast amount of trinkets. I had been walking up and down the wharf and found that the prices here are a lot lower than all the other places I checked out. Shot glasses for $ 1.99? I’m in! Just watch out. As with all shot glasses they’re made in China so the craftsmanship isn’t exactly the best. One of the glasses I brought back was pretty much destroyed because while pulling off the price tag it ripped off part of the design on the cup as well. My suggestion? Make sure the items you’re purchasing here don’t have tags on top of the designs and you’ll be good to go! Judging by the other reviews you’ll do best to stay away from buying anything relating to cameras there.

I found this a complete scam of a store. In fact, they all are on the water front — this one specifically is the worst.
I went to two previous stores looking for basic information on a wide angle lens and they both were complete jerks so I left. Was quite taken aback so figured — let’s try this place — can’t seriously hit 3 for 3.
Well — that’s exactly what happened. The initial staff member was great. He was extremely helpful, however the prices were double what I was expecting back in Canada which I felt was very odd. Then, he put one lens on my camera and it was not a ‘true’ wide angle — it distorted the image — yet this was over $ 900? They showed me another product for $ 500 which was an Axes screw on lens thing — which was just as bad.
I suggested I wanted to do some research and another guy came over and tried to take over the ‘sales’ thing. He was incredibly rude to his staff and then wanted to show me online the ‘online advertised’ price — it was over $ 600 — he then said he would sell it for $ 390. I continued to suggest I would like to do some research and he got extremely mad and rude, told me I was wasting his time and basically kicked us out of his store. I could not believe it.
I got back to my hotel and did some research on these screw on wide angle lens things and found them starting around $ 25.00 — and with very poor reviews as they are basically a magnifying glass over your lens — pure junk.
Clearly — this is just a scam from the very beginning.
I highly recommend you avoid these stores. They are out to scam you.

Not gonna lie, I fell for his BS sales speech and bought the Digital Pro HD series. It’s a total scam. He started the price at 799, and I as a gullible idiot bought it for 200 thinking I was getting some smashing deal because even the way he presented the lens tricky tricky. It says Made in Japan on the box — well guess what… IT’S NOT MADE IN JAPAN. Should have done more research, but I didn’t because I wanted to buy it 1 year ago, and I did my research 1 year ago and 1 year ago it didn’t have bad reviews on Unilocal OR Amazon, but now it does. SHOULD HAVE done a follow-​up review but now it is just a sunk cost. Cheers to another bad review. Here is the link to the Amazon reviews.

They saw my DSLR and pulled me off the street and into the shop with ‘just the thing for you’ an HD Wide Angle Lens extender supposedly retailing at $ 999. After several reluctant NOs the final price — $ 179! FLIM FLAM!!!
I braved the guilt trips and walked away with my head high. Helpless, gullible old woman, my ass!
