Ordered take out from Lakeshore Plaza location. Tasted okay when I got home. Very similar to L&L chain. #44 bbq chicken, bbq beef, and chicken Katsu. With Mac and rice. I thought this was better than some of the other fast food eateries in this mall. Free parking in this small mall probably due to Lucky super here and all the other shops/businesses here.

Somewhat remodeled the seating area and guess what. Raised the prices and limited the portions. I’d still probably come but not as often.

Okay, let me start by saying that I really hate giving 1 star reviews, but this place saved me a special seat on the porcelain throne! After studying for midterms, my parents were super nice and brought my sister and I food from Ono Hawaiian BBQ. My sister got a chicken katsu while I got a BBQ short rib plate and we both got spam musubi. Honestly, L&L is better than Ono, but that’s besides the point because a couple of hours later, I woke up from my deep sleep and had massive diarrhea! White Chicks bathroom scene all over again, man. Don’t go here!

I was given reheated CHICKEN katsu… not only that, I had more fat than meat, and it was flavorless like it was days old… After eating 3 slices I was left with a weird taste in my mouth and a weird stomach feeling … And the bbq chicken… Is completely dried out and tasteless

Was pretty good! We called them like 15 minutes before closing and got our food right when we arrived. Food quality matches the pricing.

Definitely my go to hearty meal. HUGEPORTIONS. Be prepared for a food comma afterwards. I recommend sticking to their chicken items. Their short ribs are a joke. All fat and chewy. Also recommend calling in your order before, even if your dinning there. They take a little longer that most«fast food» type restaurants.

Hawaiian isn’t usually my deal, so I’m going really easy on this one. All the meat was pretty fatty, for example, but I think that’s partly a taste thing, so no stars off for that. Overall it’s pretty simple, salty-sweet food, but that’s also a taste thing. On the plus side, their spam musubi are decent, inexpensive and large. The kalua pork was pretty good as well. Overall the prices are reasonable for San Francisco. The salad wasn’t bad. On the negative: the crab rangoon were basically just a bunch of cream cheese. The teriyaki was meh. Overall it wasn’t an experience worth repeating in a city with this much good food.

Good spot– reliable, nothing too special. Chicken Katsu, the ‘spicy’ chicken, and the teriyaki are all regulars for us. The items are filling, with kid friendly small-size/price items available, and tasty enough. Reasonable prices for the whole family. I’ll be back for sure.

It is Ono. Just a place to get something simple on a lunch break. This place tends to be occupied by the teens which may be enough to give you some perspective on who tends to frequent here. The menu probably what you would imagine. They have some spam, BBQ, katsu, rice, and a few other odd dishes on their menu. Most of the items come in a meal. I like to go with the chicken and katsu combo. It will fill you up for sure. Not eat from here too often because you will put on the POUNDS!!! The seating outside is nice because you can breath! This place can get packed during lunch time which can lead to leaning and standing in difficult positions inside. You can at least stretch your legs outside. That is it. There is nothing else that really needs to be said. Oh, if you want to hear strange and absurd conversation come here when the high school kids come stop by. You wont need to ease drop because most of them talk so loud. Enjoy your lunch!!!

I ordered the seafood mix which has fish, shrimp, and some BBQ chicken. For $ 10, it seems like a good value for that you get. Until I got home and opened the box, to find that there’s HAIR that sticks to the BBQ chicken! Completely unacceptable!!!

I give this place 4 out of 5 stars for a a number of reasons. 1) it’s not super expensive, especially considering how much food you get. 2) haven’t experienced a whole lot of waiting time, including in person ordering and phone orders. 3) the staff is nice, not super personable or super knowledgeable on the food.(Downside) 4) not a ton of seating, usually one or two spots available to sit and eat(I usually order to go) 5) I’ve never had them mess up my food out of 15 orders or so. Overall, food tastes good, the price is right, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a coupon for $ 5 dollars off $ 20. It isn’t super delicious but they give you a ton of food! $ 20 dollars got us each a main entrée, two scoops of rice, and a scoop of macaroni salad. We also had the chicken masubis. There was two pieces and each one had a whole chicken breast on top of the rectangle of rice. They gave us a ton of meat. We had leftovers for 3 meals! A lot of college students go here and now I know why haha. You totally get stuffed at this place for cheap.

Always my goto hawaiian BBQ place. Been coming here since they first opened and I have to admit, while their prices have been steadily going up, their portion sizes have been going down… which is disappointing but I keep coming cause it’s convenient. I would have to say the best part about Ono is their macaroni salad. I almost always get their chicken katsu but occasionally I would get beef(if im feelin adventurous). But if you’re in the area and craving hawaiian bbq, why not? It’s not the best, but definitely not the worst!

Is it my imagination or have things at this Ono’s location gone from a high of «meh» to complete crap? I picked up some takeout this evening and used a BOGO coupon that requires you to buy two diabetes-inducing, novelly large drinks to go with it. In the past, I’ve been allowed to swap the large sodas with two canned juices, but the incompetent cashier refused to allow me to despite the large drinks being more expensive and telling her I’m happy to pay for them and take the cheaper product. She failed to explain how that made sense, instead choosing to stare at me like a deer in the headlights, and it was clear that this was fast becoming a Mexican standoff so I decided it wasn’t worth it and walked away from the confrontation. Smash-cut to arriving at home 5 minutes after leaving Ono’s and when I dig into my plate, I disappointingly found the chicken katsu to be old, cold, dried out, and had he texture of beef jerky. The rice itself was somehow cold too, as was my girlfriends chicken curry. It was clear that the food had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time and needed to be trashed, not served. For some reason the service at this location is ALWAYS horrible no matter who is behind the counter(as observed by other Unilocalers). They’re hyper stingy, have a bad attitude, and it’s definitely not worth spending your hard earned money there. It’s got the same owners as the Numi Yogurt in the same plaza, itself having some of the worlds worst customer service. Never… again.

No nonsense Hawaiian BBQ. Get the family meal if you have a group of 4 or 5; you get to pick 3 meats and it comes with 6 scoops of rice and a giant portion of mac salad. Way enough! Everything is good here and I find the BBQ flavors to be not overpoweringly sweet. Always a plus. Workers could use better attitude though. Sheesh, sorry we missed picking up our orders by 5 min. No need for the stink eye…

Came to get a quick dinner. Nothing special but gets the job done. I ordered the bbq chicken and beef musubi with a side of macaroni salad and the bf ordered the chicken katsu to go. The macaroni salad was the best part. Update update update! Just got home and realized they forgot to put our order of musubis in the bag. Wish I could give 0 stars just because I don’t want to drive back to get it and I’ll have to rummage through my fridge for food! NOTHAPPYYYYYY!!! Update again! There’s fucking hair in the food they did give us! Disgustinggggg

When considering how often I frequent this place and how I was its duke for a shining millisecond, how could I possibly give Ono anything less than three stars? It’d be saying that I knowingly frequent a bad eatery and that just sounds terrible and wouldn’t be true. So I’ve given Ono an additional star for being a reliable spot when in search of quick Hawaiian grub. The food doesn’t consistently wow me but it’s close by and every once in a while chicken katsu isn’t half bad.
