Established in 2005, O’Reilly Tile Design (LIC # 1 003 451) is a local, San Francisco based company. We have been serving the Bay Area community in both residential and commercial tile installations for the last decade.

We have worked with many clients to bring their dreams to life. We are dedicated to leveraging the latest green technologies in tile installations.

O’Reilly Tile Design’s philosophy is built on the belief that satisfying our customers project desires coupled with providing a flawless end product are our top priorities. To ensure we meet these goals our team of skilled and experienced professionals execute our service in an efficient, clean and punctual manner, whilst all the time focusing on attention to detail and quality of craftsmanship. Frank, a LEED Green Associate, started his career in the construction industry over 18yrs. ago. Over the years, he has completed hundreds of projects in the residential, commercial and community space, including a LEED certified silver project. He has managed projects in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles on residential and commercial interiors. Has deep knowledge in tradtional and green building techniques.

Frank transformed my kitchen in a way which makes me happy each time I come home. His team did did both the floor and a backsplash.
I talked to a bunch of different contractors and eventually chose Frank (one reason for this was that he had done work with the Fireclay tiles I was using, even for the Fireclay showroom). He was professional in the consultation and implementation phases, he got a somewhat complex tile patten implemented exactly as I wanted and involved me in the important decisions.

The PM came out, took a few measurements and didn’t discuss anything with me about the job other than they would need to use the garage and that they would mask the floors. Later that day I was emailed a quote that was 50% higher than the other bids I received.

Frank came to the house to look at possible grouting problems in our shower. While here, the told us that he could also repair some stains on our outdoor stone staircase. His work was impeccable! The shower grouting was beautifully done and he showed us how we could continue to seal it every year on our own. As for the stone work outside, he really made it look brand new.
Frank and his team were prompt and got to the house at the time they said they would. They treated us with respect in that they explained everything they were going to do and what we could do afterwards to maintain it. He was extremely professional.
Frank is really excellent and I would recommend him without hesitation. If we have any tile issues in the future, we will definitely be calling Frank!

Frank and his team are the absolute best tile installers in the city — excellent communicators, extremely professional (all jobs I’ve done with them, they arrived right on time if not early, and clean-​up after each day of the job was spectacular), and top-​rate quality of work too. As an interior designer, I also really value Frank’s eye for design when it comes to tile installations working within the context of the room, as well as his expertise in tile brands, materials, grout colors, etc. Frank also has very high standards of his team, and an exceptionally sharp attention to detail. I consider myself a perfectionist, and even still, on a recent marble herringbone tile job, Frank came in to inspect and identified very minor inconsistencies in the tile setting (which the client didn’t even see) that he had corrected so that the final job was perfect. I’ve not only worked with Frank on my design projects, but also in my own home, where he installed Heath Ceramic «oval» tiles, which are very challenging to work with considering their uneven surface, and how many outlets I have in my backsplash that needed to be accommodated. Frank is a creative, strategic problem-​solver, and I have the utmost confidence in him being able to find solutions to the most challenging projects. If you have worked with a million tile installers, or if you are embarking on your first project and looking for a tile installer, I can’t recommend Frank and his team highly enough.

Frank & his team are top notch. We did a guest bathroom remodel with him, all the way down to the studs and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. It’s clear that Frank prefers to do things the right way even if it’s not the easiest way. We found him as the top recommendation from our tile manufacturer (Fireclay), and it’s easy to see why. His prices are very fair, the quality of workmanship is tops and he was engaged with all of the details down to helping us choose patterns and grout. I will definitely call him again when we have another project.

Look no further if you want a top notch tile installer! I couldn’t have been happier with Frank’s work. I love my bathroom every day. He and his crew were amazing. I re-​did a master bath in February 2014. Besides doing a beautiful job with the tiling, he was very helpful helping me visualize the rest of the bathroom, and how exactly the sink would fit in and the lighting, etc. Above and beyond anything I expected! His attention to detail was impressive and he had a vision from the very first visit how the finished product was going to look (which I didn’t have). I totally trusted him. He was fun to work with, dependable, and he had a well-​trained crew. The folks at Porcelanosa Tile told me how lucky I was to have Frank be my installer and they were right!

After having our first tile contractor disappear into thin air right before our project was going to start, Frank O’Reilly and his team came in and saved the day. Frank’s team rebuilt the front steps of our building and came in on budget and on time. Our steps look better than when the building was new. Frank is very knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. We were so happy with his work on our front steps that we had his team rebuild our back steps several months later. I HIGHLY recommend Frank O’Reilly Tile Design!

I was very pleased with the work Frank and crew did on my fireplace. I was having my floors replaced, and as a result, the fireplace hearth was going to be ripped up. I wanted the tile to be laid level with the floor, but didn’t get the timing right in terms of scheduling the tile installer far enough in advance.
I called Frank at a very busy time, and they were not available to do the entire job concurrently with the floor — but he told me that from the outset. However, even though it was a very busy time, he was able to send someone to do the demo at the same time as the floor vendor so that they wouldn’t be doing the demo work on top of brand new floors.
Frank also has an eye toward detail — originally, the bottom portion of my black metal fireplace surround had not been tiled, but Frank specifically asked whether I wanted it to remain that way (I didn’t — I wanted it tiled). As a result, he noted that he would need to do a grey thinset so that the outline of the black background on the iron area did not look different through the glass tile than the white background of the wall (since it’s a fireplace, the iron could not be covered due to fire code). Ultimately, I ended up painting the metal white b/​c I preferred the color of the tile through the white backing, which Frank said would also work.
When he was able to send the installer, I was very pleased with Frank’s involvement, the professionalism of the installer, and the quality of their work. For example — day 1 involved leveling and prepping the surface — it was so tidy, I knew I was in good hands. They made quick progress, left everything ship shape at the end of every day, and I’m delighted with the results. Even though his installer was right on point, I appreciated that Frank checked in every step of the way to ensure the quality of the work — this was, sadly, in contrast to the floor installer.
I plan to re-​do a bathroom and will absolutely be hiring Frank.

Frank and his team are excellent. Upon reaching out to Frank requesting an estimate for him to re-​tile and install heated floors in my bathroom, he responded quickly, came to my home, talked me through his recommended approach and followed up in a timely manner with a quote. He was flexible with the scheduling and continued to check-​in throughout the project to ensure that I was happy with the progress and to answer questions I had. He also facilitated conversations with my electrician to ensure that we would be able to keep to our project timeline, even with external dependencies.
After having some less desirable experiences with contractors, I assure you… he’s a true professional.

Frank helped us to tile our master bathroom/​closet and entryway in our new home remodel. He did excellent work, was very flexible and willing to try something new (in our case, a complex design of herringbone). The shower floor took very careful precision which was impressive. He helped call around to help us get his contractor discount at the various stores and he was able to squeeze us in even though his schedule was so busy. Our only complaint was that it was sometimes hard to reach him but I suppose that comes w/​the territory when you do high quality work for an affordable cost.

I called Green Tile. I think. When I called I was greeted with «hello» and not a Green Tile greeting. I told him (he never said his name) the job I needed done and wanted an estimate. He asked me to text him a photo of the tile and job. He’d give me an estimate based on the photo. Seriously? Is this the industry standard?
Since the tile we’re getting for the backsplash is expensive I would like to get more of an exact number to prevent over spending. Clearly he has enough current and return business with this attention to new customers.

Frank and his crew did an outstanding job redoing a deck and a bath room at a clients place in noe valley. He was on time, well priced, honest, fair, ahead of schedule and exceeded all expectations. He was very helpful in outlining the entire process and was able to connect well with my client who is an architect and very demanding. Bottom line he knows his stuff and how to project manage.
I have recommended Frank to other clients since and everyone has been very happy with his service.

I was given a list of tile installers by Ceramic Tile & Design. I called two installers, and Frank was the one who answered his phone and came within a half-​hour to look at my kitchen. He took measurements, gave me some advice, told me exactly how many tiles to order, including specific quantities for the bullnose pieces, and e-​mailed me a quote the next day. The other tile installer didn’t call me back until the next day, but by then, I had already decided that I would go with Frank.
Frank also told me to ask for «contractor’s pricing» when ordering my tile from Ceramic Tile & Design, and thank goodness he did, because the discount was substantial.
Ricardo, the installer, did a beautiful job installing the tile backsplash in my kitchen. I am very picky, and when I noticed some small cutting flaws in a couple of the tile pieces around the range, I texted Frank, who is very good about getting back to you, and he sent Ricardo over as soon as I had the replacement tile pieces to fix the problem.
I absolutely love my backsplash, and I think it’s one of my favorite things about my new kitchen.
