Specialties
Paradise Pizza & Pasta is a family owned restaurant serving some of the best Italian food in San Francisco. «Best Crust in the City (possibly the world)» is our motto, and it’s not disputed by our customers. Chef Sal makes his pasta and ravioli fresh daily. His Sicilian roots are shown off by some of the best seafood, calamari, and squid ink pasta this side of Palermo. Our daily specials are also unique, and have included shrimp with caramelized onions, naked ravioli, scallops with mascarpone, and fusilli with a vodka cream sauce. We choose to only use the freshest ingredients, because that’s how we eat. We’re also very family friendly and have a child’s menu available.
We also serve red and white wines, available by the glass, ½ carafe, and bottle, and our beer is available by the glass or pitcher. Selecting our tiramisu, panna cotta, cheesecake, or cannoli is a perfect way to finish a meal, accompanied by a cappuccino, espresso, or latte.
History
Established in 1989.
Paradise Pizza started as a small pizzeria the Alioto’s bought after taking a leap of faith to serve Sal’s famous pizzas. But the pizzeria proved to not be enough, and soon Sal was adding more and more dishes to the menu. He couldn’t stop adding new dishes after customers enjoyed the ones added to the menu, so in 1989, the Alioto’s purchased Paradise’s currently location. Finally, Sal’s dream of serving authentic Italian food in his own restaurant had become fully realized.

Sal A.
Business Owner
Chef Sal first learned to cook from his Sicilian born mother, Rose. From an early age, Sal enjoyed cooking and pleasing his friends and family with delicious and fresh dishes. Today, Sal still enjoys cooking at Paradise, employing the same enthusiasm for fresh ingredients, food that is in season, and authentic Italian flavors that his mother taught him growing up.
