Passport Model Management

I am really sad that I am now adding to the poor reviews for Passport. I remember reading them right after I signed with Passport and thinking «Oh, they must be overreacting». They definitely are not.
First of all, I’ve never seen a legitimate agency who has so much poor feedback and this is definitely a reflection of how business is done here.
I REALLY wanted to like Passport. I truly did. I made a mistake by taking a chance and ignoring all of the terrible things written on the internet about Marissa and the agency.
If you are a model considering signing with Passport, PLEASE don’t. There are so many other agencies out there and you will only end up losing money here.
I signed with Passport as my mother agency back in June. That is when this whole mess began. Marissa asked to meet with me in LA, where I live, because I’ve known her since I tried signing with Elite Chicago when I was much younger. She told me about all of the great things Passport can do for me and I was just so excited that I fell for it. I believed that Passport could really help my career and get me a big agency in LA and NYC and help me travel abroad. The moment I sent my contract in was the moment Marissa stopped replying to my e-​mails. I was never sent a book, cards, or put on the site. I was never given any of the opportunities she promised. I ended up signing with a big agency in LA on my own, without ANY help from my mother agency. Passport was useless.
Passport got me one job after I signed with them. I was given details less than 24 hours in advance and they were all inaccurate. I showed up, with another Passport model who is also with my LA agency, and it was nothing like she told us. The other model told me horror stories about Passport saying how she couldn’t wait to get out of her contract and she urged me to do the same. The job we booked through Passport went way longer than we were told and only paid $ 150, which of course I never got.
I sent Marissa a formal e-​mail saying I would like to legally and amicably terminate my contract since she did not hold up her end of the agreement. Surprisingly she replied and told me she would send me a document releasing me from my contract. She never did.
I have been in the industry for a long time and I am now fortunate enough to be working with legitimate agencies other than Passport. If I can give anyone who is considering Passport advice, I’d tell you you are better off working freelance or with any other agency. Be smart and do your research before signing with anyone.
Photographers and clients should also take these negative reviews into consideration. There are plenty of other agencies who are far more professional and who treat their models like actual human beings.

How the FUUUUCK has this business been running for 7 years?
They are the most unprofessional SNEAKY thieves I have ever worked with/​for.
I can’t believe I was foolish enough to fall for their WRITTEN promises… shame on me! One deception after another. Only 10% of what I was promised was realized. IF THAT!
Save yourself the migraine and white hairs… take the time to find another agency that is run by honest and humane individuals.
Unless you want to be treated like slaves/​cattle and never get paid for it, that is! To each their own…
Remember people… SIGN SIGN SIGN your little hearts out!
Contracts need to be in order!
