WARNING: Stay far away from these crooks! I had to contact them numerous times to get my check, ended up having to threaten to call the police on them before they cut my check. Very poor organization here, they really shouldn’t be running a business. They basically charge a 50% commission to sell your items, one of my items didn’t sell and they charged me $ 20 very sneaky! I didn’t even get the item back! I’d rather give my stuff to a shelter than give my business to these guys again.

I dropped off nearly $ 10k in a childhood collection of n-gauge model trains, model building, layout accessories, powerpacks and track. I was promised a full inventory and accounting by these crooks. Went into the store a month later and my items were on the floor and for sale. The claimed I would have inventory in the week and when I went back they were gone. I filed with BBB about them. What do you do now to get your money or goods back? How can I reach the owners/crooks of this business? jphauck

This place is a total scam from the initial pricing to their effort to get the most money for your item to the lack of payment after items have been sold… DONOT waist your time… months have passed by and I no payment is in site. I am thinking I need to take this to the higher authorities now as this is a joke…

What a rotten business. Wow. I was so livid that I became speechless to the point that I couldn’t even give them a piece of my mind. They give advice to get quick cash for themselves at clients’ disadvantage. I monitored the eBay sales and comparisons and realized I am glad I asked questions, but they still did a crappy job to say the least. Worse? They did not meet their contract obligations. They did not send my check per our contract. When I called after waiting months, the check was over a week late per the contract, they claimed to send it long ago, then hesitantly«claimed» to send it that same day I called – which was late anyway – and didn’t even offer me an option to come pick it up. The check was also for less than I was told I would receive by them after the items sold. So they lied. They didn’t even offer a concession for forgetting to send the check(which I still haven’t received) because«it got lost in the mess on the desk» as I was told – again even though they recorded it as «mailed out.» So, $ 500+ shoes and $ 175 handbag translated into more money for them than for me. I got $ 96 and no check; again, I’m waiting and waiting – still. Very crummy, dusty, dirty, tacky, store and ineffective information and communication relayed to me by owner and assistant Carlos. I will probably report them to the BBB as another reviewer said they almost did. This is just wrong. By the way, they don’t take 50%. They take 52% with a minimum. So if something sells low, they get all the funds – you don’t get any.

I was really close to calling the Better Business Bureau on these guys. You may want to avoid them. I won’t do business with this place ever again. Here’s why… They never kept me informed about anything going on within the auctions.(When an item was posted/sold/bid on etc.) I had to persistently push these guys to see results. For the amount of work I put into dealing with these people, I should have just sold my stuff on my own. I whole-heartedly believe they wouldn’t have even mailed me my money if I hadn’t hounded them for it. I had to call and email them numerous times just to send it after the extremely long waiting period they have. The total profit for all my items that sold was 653.99, I’m supposed to get 52%. They cut me a check for 268 dollars, you do the math. Something is obviously fishy there. Confronting them about it, they tried to tell me some items sold for less than what I watched them go for at the auction. I called their bluff and told them about my records. Then they came up with some more baloney about some accounting screw up and said they would mail me another check… Yea, yeah, whatever. I think they tried to swindle me. Also, interacting with these people is a nightmare. After dealing with a specific guy for the first couple weeks, I had a gut feeling something like this would happen. That’s why I saved all the auction records, receipts, emails and dates. I’m glad I did. Looking at some of the other reviews here, it appears I’m not the first one they tried to bend over. Save your time, money, and sanity. Sell on ebay yourself. It’s super easy.

Beware, they will take your stuff and not pay you. Several months have passed since I dropped off my stuff and I have not received a single dollar from them or any kind of information regarding the status of my items. I filed a complaint with the BBB but the company denied I was ever a customer.

I want to support local, artsy business. Took an unused machine for them to resell off Craigs List. Very nice people, but just so unprofessional. They never followed up. I was left in limbo for months. When the product sold I was never contacted. The check arrived only after I made repeated calls. There was no apology. They’re nice people — just not very good business people. Don’t know how to sell a product, don’t know customer service, horrible bookkeeping. But friendly? Yes. Not worth the 30% or whatever it is they charge.

I took some high end items to Phantom SF to list on Ebay, and not only did they create expert listings, my items sold for much more than I expected. I would recommend them to anyone who appreciates knowledgeable and expert service.

This is the last place you want to use as an ebay drop-off site. I dropped off an item in April, paid them their $ 25 setup fee and signed their contract which allows them to keep 40%. It’s been 3 months since my item sold and I’m still waiting for my money. I call every week and it’s «oh our accountant isn’t in», or «the check will be sent today». Trust me, if this is your only choice, donate your items to charity, you’ll not only feel better, you’ll actually save money.

Still my favorite store in the Castro. Great service, photos, great packing and normal fees. They research items before they list and will tell you if you are expecting too much. In todays economy prices are down everywhere… but if you need money this is the place to go to sell your e-bay items.

This place is terrible and I would recommend staying away from them. They made mistakes in the pricing in our listings and didn’t get things on eBay when they said they would. In the end, we profited a little over $ 50 on over $ 200 of postings. I wish we did have a high-quality service of this type in our area — if anyone knows of one, let me know! It’s not these guys.

Phantom*SF is a registered ebay drop off store. They also sell a wide variety of items within a somewhat small and stuffed store just off Castro. I used them in a trial effort to sell a few items on ebay. Although those items sold for less than either me or Phantom*SF expected, I was very happy with the quality of their listings, including some very well considered photographs. Their fees and contract provisions were reasonable and they are very responsive to inquiries before, during, and after the listing.
