Business Owner

Owner manager of Portal World Travel since 1979. JoAnn has either visited, escorted or sent people to every corner of the world. She has also been teaching the Principle classes in the Travel and Tourism Program at CCSF for over 30 years. Her students come from all over the world to earn certificates and degrees in Travel & Tourism.

I took a cruise from Rome to Venice recently on Holland America Cruise Lines. JoAnn booked it for me with a post stay in Venice. It was fantastic .My husband & I loved the cruise as it stopped daily in a new port with lots of time to explore. After the cruise we chose to stay in Venice for 2 nights… Didn’t have a clue as to where the best place would be. JoAnn gave us a choice and we chose the one she recommended… it was better than best!!!. That is because she knew our preferences and could also stay within our budget.. We couldn’t have been happier except if we’d stayed a lot longer!!!

I would NEVER use this travel agency. Years back, they completely botched our vacation plans and booked my husband and I in the same room as my mother in law. Seriously? YES!!! It was such a mess, I was calling repeatedly, talking with the agent, and trying to get the owner. Eventually, they stopped taking any of my calls. They did un-​do their damage and refunded our money but what a mess. I have NEVER been treated in such a disrespectful manner, I would never trust my vacation plans to them. AWFUL. RUN AWAY! Use Orbitz or Travelocity and save yourself the headache.
