Love Vivienne. I’m hooked on my eyelashes now. She always has great appointment availability and mine look so natural. 100% would recommend.

Have come here for lashes twice and would recommend Vivien to all my friends (in fact, I did and received a complimentary touch up on my lashes — great customer service!). Vivien is a meticulous lash application specialist and she won’t let you loose until your lashes are perfect. Was at a dinner party the other night and a stranger approached me out of the blue to say how jealous she was of my natural lashes, that she paid big bucks for hers. I laughed and ultimately fessed up the truth. Having done this before elsewhere I can say that her rates are very reasonable. The space is clean, quiet, and no frills. You’re not paying for her overhead costs and I appreciate that. She is very detail and customer oriented and has been very sweet about accommodating to my schedule, and even came in on an «off» day to assist other clients. Five stars for lashes!

Met vivine a few times for my nails, lash extensions. Vivine is easy going, good personality, good socialize. She also do facial at her spa. She is busy on weekends. Make sure you make an appt 1^st

Vivien is the only person I trust with my lashes. I’ve had lash extensions done in Hong Kong before, and at other salons in the area. My eyes are really sensitive, and always water from the glue. At one place they kept tugging my lashes and pinching my eyelids by accident. My eyes were streaming with tears from pain and irritation the whole time. But Vivien’s technique is perfect. I don’t feel a thing when she works her magic, and not even the glue bothers me! She is truly amazing at what she does, and keeps a lovely calm environment at the spa. I won’t be going anywhere else! Plus it’s always such a pleasure to see her :)
Update: Tried a manicure here for the first time, and Christine did an awesome job. Thorough, detailed, and steady hands.

I was really disappointed with this salon; I wanted to like it but the $ 62 price tag was absurd for a very basic, no frills gel mani & regular polish pedi.
What happened to the mango crush or lemon something pedis that sounded indulgent and far from the bare-​bones service I received?
I wasn’t offered a bottle of water or anything to drink until my allergies kicked up and I began coughing. The manicurist asked if I wanted water or tea but not until I suggested I could use something to drink, pointing towards the ice water.
Thinking back, they didn’t offer me water the first time I had a service at Pure Envy, either.
With barely any polish on my toes, mine was an easy pedi to do, not much work needed to get down to business. That said, I was perplexed why she went right on to polish without attending to ingrown nails.
Off to a separate bar for the mani: Sitting on one of the high stools, I had to rest my feet on the rung of the chair, trying very hard not to tap my just-​done pedi into the bar. It hurt my feet and I wasn’t comfortable at all.
Whoever set up this salon didn’t think through that work station at all.
Yes, the salon looked clean and I appreciated the stainless basins for the pedicure. Other than that, there was nothing else that justified their pricing, zip.
Their polish selection was also highly «edited»: There were maybe 25 bottles of polish to choose from. That would represent most salons’ selection of red!
My gel mani is also chipping in less than 5 days; that rarely happens.
All in all, I kept thinking as I sat there «I wish Lux hadn’t been booked solid.»

Vivian can do no wrong… always friendly and my short little nails never looked better

Vivien is a godsend. Every time I’ve come in, it’s been last minute or a drop-​in and she makes such a concerted effort to accommodate me. The spa is beautiful and pristinely clean, which is necessary in a nail spa. I have to say the one thing I appreciate the most is her attention to detail and care. My feet are destroyed (destroyed!) from running and walking in the city, and she just perks them right up. (Wo that look of judgment and lecture you get from other salons.) You do not want to fool around w someone who doesn’t have their act together when it comes to foot care, especially if you’re prone to ingrown toenails. Though I’ve had pedicures elsewhere in the city, I’ve always come to regret the decision and find myself right back here. Take the time to schedule an appt. and come on down here for the attention and care you very much deserve.

I went to Pure Envy out of desperation. The place that I usually go wasn’t picking up the phone and I needed a wax that day… BEST WAX EVER! Vivian was extremely gentle… and thorough. The spa was clean and well kept. The fact that the cost was $ 5.00 less than I normally pay was simply a bonus.
I’ve found my new home for Brazilians… thank you Vivian

i got my eyelashes done here. and i am so happy i came, i went to another place and i did a horrible job and my eyelashes were falling out. Vivian helped me and made my eyelashes look great! i am so happy i went here. no i am totally addicted.

Vivian and Yuki are amazing! I should treated myself to this years ago! I walk by this place every day and never knew I was passing up a treasure!

Don’t hesitate to have your eyelashes done here! To say the end result is fabulous would be an understatement. They take as long as needed to match each lash with an extension, they don’t double up your lashes. They don’t stop after 90 minutes like most other salons. Highly rated! 5 stars!

Awful.
The woman doing my pedicure was clearly novice and had no idea what she was doing. Was very slow and unsure of herself. Water was cold and even when I asked if she could warm it up, it was still cold. On top of that, the manager and one of the employees began arguing in front of me while I was getting this lousy pedicure. Very unprofessional.
During my manicure, the same woman was doing an awful job and when the manager walked past, I asked politely if she could take over (seriously, it looked *awful*). Quite annoyed, she shooed the other woman away and quickly finished the manicure. By the next day, my nails were chipped! I will never return to this salon. What a waste of money!

Came here for my friend’s Bachelorette party. My other friend made the arrangement with them so I don’t know how it was, but it seemed like it was easy to reserve the place.
We came in early but welcomed us right away. The place was clean and it had a nice ambiance. Their stuff was clean. The cool thing was the place was pretty much all to ourselves. They had OPI nail polish and gel although the color selection is not much IMO.
The ladies were nice and were polite. They didn’t speak to each other in their own language which I thought was professional. They were fast because there were 6 of us and 3 of them providing the services.

I brought a Groupon awhile back for three shellac manicures. While the place is conveniently located and clean, all three shellac manicures chipped within 1 – 3 days that I don’t foresee going back in the near future. Unfortunately, after all three appts, I left town a long weekend/​weddings so was unable to get them fixed. Pretty bummed to get your nails done on a Thursday evening to already see a chip Saturday morning before the party!
I’m not sure if it’s the application, light or technique but I’ve gotten at least 20+ shellac manicures, and usually don’t have any issues until day ten.
I also purchased a full price pedicure, and was pretty underwhelmed. My technician barely buffed my heel calluses, which definitely needed TLC.

The place is very nice (décor) the staff is friendly and I had a great and relaxing time with my girlfriend.

The place is a bit on the expensive side yet the service and the actual pedicure were well worth it.

I was referred to Pure Envy by my girlfriend Suzy. I love Vivien and this place! It’s so clean and Vivien is the BEST. I always get a mani and pedi. Vivien is the sweetest and we laugh all the time! I want to try lashes next time. :)

Within a moment of walking in I was greeted by one of the women who work here (Vivian) and asked if I had an appointment. I had called earlier that day before they opened and left a message but did not receive a call back so I called again in the afternoon and had no problem getting an appointment for the same day. Great! I had purchased a six pack of shellac manicures for $ 99 through Groupon and one of their policies is that an appointment is necessary. The nail salon where I normally go for my bi-​weekly shellac manicure never requires an appointment despite being very busy, but having worked in salons and spas my whole life I understand that each of them varies with their policies and for a steal like this it didn’t really bother me.
I arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and it was completely DEAD. Only one other customer came in during my entire 90min appt., so much for making an appointment? I was later informed by Yuki (my nail technician) that the weekends get very busy.
PROS:
–PRICE. $ 99 for 6 shellac manicures equals out to be 16.50 per manicure (before tip, of course). Score!
–Nice décor, pleasant music. There is a modern feel here that the other nail salons I have visited in SF lack. The nail bar where the manicures are done is a cute and unique concept.
–Spotless. Impeccably clean as others have noted. This is huge.
–Yuki is wonderful. She was very attentive to detail and gentle during the soaking-​off process with the gel leftover from my last manicure. She also helped pick out a neutral color that would match my skin tone, seemed knowledgable about nail-​care and left me satisfied with how they turned out. Based on just her performance I would give this establishment a 5 but…
CONS:
–From the moment I walked in I sensed an attitude from the other woman who works here, Vivian. She was not very warm or friendly and rudely interrupted Yuki when she was explaining to me that a french add — on was $ 5 extra, which their website clearly states. Not according to Vivian who proceeded to yell across the salon, while she was doing a pedicure on another client, to correct her by saying that it was in fact a $ 6 add — on. Ok, no biggie. The tension proceeded throughout my manicure between the two women. Annoying.
–FREEZING. Turn up the heat! AT least turn it on? It actually felt warmer outside in the middle of January when I left the salon. I can’t imagine having a pedicure here.
–Hard to reach these people. Weird hours.
–Neighborhood is a bit sketch. Wouldn’t walk here alone if it was dark.
Truly — the first woman who I encountered walking in (Vivian) and her attitude toward me, lack of eye — contact, unprofessionalism toward the other woman (Yuki) is what prompted me to write a review about this place. Could have done without.

I wish I can review the spa services, however… I never got an appointment!
After 4 messages left, 2 phone call attempts to schedule a massage for me & my girlfriend, & 3 weeks of waiting, I’ll just take these reviewers word for it.
If I lived in the neighborhood, it may be a great place for a walk-​in visit. Pics look great on the site… very clean looking. I guess I will never know.

Viv — will always laugh at one of my stupid jokes while meticulously helping me shape my nails.
Yuki — delicately puts on my lashes one by one (and never rips them out when removing the old ones) so that I don’t have to spend a ton of time to get ready in the morning.
False Lashes = Less prep time = more sleeping time

Groupon/​Home Run/​Living Social has made me a spa whor… person who gets a lot of facial… a person who cares about her appearance but doesn’t want to spend a lot of money.
Since I have a conference next week which a bunch of dermatologists will be attending, I want to look my best from head to toe.
Luckily, they had an appointment for their pedi/​facial special this weekend. Since I wanted to have the majority of my day open, I made an appointment for 10:30 a.m. I also made another appointment elsewhere (but close by) for noon, figuring I’d have time to get to that one if the pedi/​facial combo was only 70 minutes total.
Because I traveled from the east bay, I was in the area a little early so I could find parking. I grabbed some coffee, and then headed to Pure Envy around 10:15 just in case they could take me early so I wasn’t late. The doors weren’t even open yet, even though they opened at 10 a.m. Huh? I see a woman go in, so I follow. I’m told to sit and wait while she bustles around getting ready. I filled out some paperwork, but don’t actually get called back into the room until 5 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. With getting changed and everything, my appointment probably started 15 minutes late, which threw off my relaxation because I was worried about being late to my next appointment.
The facial itself wasn’t bad. My skin feels pretty good 8 hours later, but I’m not going to lie– I’ve had better facials. She uses quick strokes which some people might like, but I didn’t feel like I was really getting cleansed. Not a bad facial, just not the best I’ve experienced.
The pedicure was not memorable. The girl was nice and all, but I felt disconnected. Maybe she sensed that I was getting a little anxious and reacted accordingly. My toes look good, but it’s not the best I’ve had. Not the worst.
The location is nice– looks great inside. What wasn’t great inside is a girl who came in, sat in one of the pedicure chairs, ate her breakfast, and messed around on her laptop. Does she work there? Is she somebody’s kid? I don’t know, but it didn’t inspire professionalism.
This place is a solid A-​OK for me. It’s like going to a restaurant with good food and not-​so-​great service. This place does good work, but needs to work on their service. Might want to invest in an online booking system, at the very least.
