Randy Weled, MFT

Randy first helped me get through a period of crisis when I had no one else to turn to. That was the beginning of a period of growth, where he helped me sort through some major life challenges. I have always felt comfortable with Randy. His methodology is extremely powerful, and I find that he cares deeply for me as a person. I have grown tremendously during our time working together.
I’ve had bad experiences with therapists in the past and feel so fortunate to have found Randy. I would highly recommend him.

I came to Randy at the hardest time in my life and have used his services once a week for about a month now. I was dealing with an addiction I have had since I was 12 years old and am 22 now, as well as extreme depression and pain. At first I was not sure if this was the number one option for me but after the first two weeks Randy and his methods had me wanting to recover and live life happy again and not sit inside all day with pain. He really brought the person I wanted to become out so fast I was impressed and really worked with my budget which showed he cared more about the patient than the paycheck. All of the other specialists I contacted before Randy instantly gave me a price quote but the first email with Randy and conversation was about me and what I was dealing with which really proved to me I made the right decision, I would definitely recommend anyone with any of the problems he specializes in to just even send a email to try and see if It is a good fit because so far I have not regretted it.

Randy is a well intentioned person. However, my experience with him as a therapist wasn’t good.
I went to him during a very painful time and expected that he would treat me with care and respect. I believe that he wanted to do just that, but he broke my trust on two different occasions. The first time, when I let him know how I felt, he was apologetic and handled it very well. I therefore I chose to stay with him as a therapist because the thought of starting over with someone else seemed overwhelming at the time.
The second breach of trust was much more serious and I couldn’t ignore the fact that I was in worse shape for having gone there for help. Though well intentioned, Randy allows his personal life to cross over into his clients’ lives.
I’ve anguished over whether or not to write this review, but decided to do it because of the sensitive nature of therapy. If I had had access to real patient reviews before going to Randy, I would have been extremely grateful for an honest opinion, not just an advertisement.
Please be careful when choosing a therapist. Asking for referrals is much better than choosing one on a Google search. A license and a website doesn’t mean competent.
Post script: I now have a WONDERFUL therapist and it was definitely worth the pain of ending a bad situation to find the right one.
One additional thing to note. Randy asked me to give him a review at the end of one of our sessions. From what I understand that is at the very least, unethical.
