I’ve attended several events that Robert catered including brunches, dinners and receptions. These events were very enjoyable with creative dishes elegantly presented, served by attentive staff. I especially loved the prosciutto-​wrapped breadsticks and ahi tuna. Besides the great taste, I appreciate Robert’s passion for using nutritious and wholesome ingredients.

I attended a birthday party that Robert catered, and the food was fantastic. The appetizers were excellent, and included poke that lived up to my high standards as someone who spent 20 years in Hawaii! I would highly recommend Robert for anyone looking to cater a party.

I hired Robert Chan to cater an informal dinner for 40 participants of our Theory of Neural Computation workshop at UC Berkeley. It was absolutely awesome. He brought all the dishes prepared and set them up for serving. He made Cuban black beans and Kalua pork, along with a salad and a number of other side dishes. Everyone loved it and people were raving about it the next day. It was the perfect way to cap our workshop and added to the good energy of the meeting. It was especially impressive that Robert was able to do all this on short notice, having been asked less than 48 hours before the event. I will definitely be calling on Robert again and I would recommend him in a heartbeat to my colleagues and friends at UC Berkeley and elsewhere.

I hired Robert to cater my 50^th birthday party. He did an amazing job! I had about 40 people over, and Robert served up four creative appetizers and two mains (a seafood gumbo and a chili with rice). All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Robert was extremely organized and everything was served on time. He and his assistant also helped me serve the cake and clean up, allowing me to focus on my guests. I highly recommend Robert to anyone looking for a first-​rate caterer!

My husband and I hired Robert Chan to be the private chef for our wedding and we are extremely glad we did. We had 45 people, seated at round tables in our backyard and the meal was served family style. It was not an easy feat! Here’s the highlight: the food was all delicious and beautifully presented. We loved it and our guests loved it.
Robert exceeded our expectations in so many ways. First, Robert is an extraordinarily good planner. From the beginning, he took the lead in making sure that we were organized and that every detail was accounted for. We had several planning calls which resulted in Robert’s understanding of what we wanted — and he delivered on the «big day» … everything was presented exactly as planned. Robert cared deeply about how the event turned out. We hired him to do a rehearsal meal, and he also worked hard to perfect each recipe.
One of the reasons we hired Robert versus a large catering company was that we wanted the meal to feel personal — not just selected off a pre-​existing menu. Robert worked with us to customize a meal. We worked together on selecting and fine tuning the recipes — he was extremely flexible and accommodating so that we would have exactly what we wanted. Robert’s staff was excellent — he had two guys who helped him plate the food (beautifully!) and serve it. These guys were great.
We had very high expectations for our event and Robert really delivered. I would highly recommend him.
